STEWARDS REPORT FOR MARYBOROUGH

Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

RACE 1 – ROTHACKER STOCKFEEDS 2YO TROT (1690 MS)

SNICKERS EXPRESS – A post race veterinary examination revealed a slight tinge of blood in the left nostril which could not be confirmed to have originated from the lungs and no stand down or action was advised by the veterinarian.

THE DARK THUNDER – Held up for a clear run rounding the final turn. Galloped under pressure when driven out over the concluding stages.

KYVALLEY JAGGER – Galloped during the middles stages of the score up and was out of position as the start was effected. Placed out of the mobile barrier draw. Galloped approaching the turn out of the back start on the first occasion and trailed the field for the remainder of the race.

RACE 2 –MCPHERSON PRINTING GROUP MAIDEN TROT (2190 MS)

WALLIS – Galloped shortly after the start and trailed the field thereafter. Placed out of the draw for future mobile start races.

MYSTERIOUS PRINCE – Pulled hard from the 1200m when leading the one out line.

AETHON – Held up for a clear run rounding the final turn, obtained a clear run from approximately the 100m.

KYVALLEY MARIACHI – Hung out during the early stages of the score up and paced. Continued to pace and failed to return to its correct gait resulting in the filly being well out of position at the start. Trailed the field throughout and took no competitive part in the race. Driver Chris Alford was at a loss to explain the performance however stated that the filly had become more difficult of recent times and may derive some benefit from a spell. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Kyvalley Mariachi will continue to be drawn wide in future mobile races and will be required to trial satisfactorily on one occasion prior to racing again.

 

RACE 3 – ALDEBARAN PARK MAIDEN TROT (2190MS)

COLUMBIAS GONZALES -  Tired after racing on the pegline throughout to be beaten 53m and a warning was issued for a poor performance.

KEAYANG ZAHARA – Driver Jason Lee issued with a caution after failing to fully be in position at the start.

WITH APLOMB – Out of position at the start and will continue out of the mobile barrier draw.

FAITH FULL - Out of position at the start and will continue out of the mobile barrier draw. Pulled hard during the middle stages. Held up for a clear run rounding the final turn and during the early stages of the home straight.

 

RACE 4 – AB PAINT TROT (2190 MS)

HIDDEN FIRE – Gave ground over the latter stages to be beaten approximately 43m after racing on the pegline throughout.

RACE 5 – VITAL SIGNS TROTTERS HANDICAP (2190 SS)

SIMONE LINDENNY NZ – The racebook failed to show John Caldow as the driver. Raced roughly and galloped clear of interference at the 400m.

SER PATRICK – Galloped under pressure on entering the home straight on the final occasion.

ZAREM – Driver Ellen Tormey replaced by Jack Laugher due to being held up enroute to the course.

RACE 6 – PETER EGAN BI-RITE ELECTRICAL 3YO TROT (2190 MS)

STRAIGHT TO THETOP – Galloped clear of interference entering the home straight on the final occasion.

MAJESTIC GA GA – Galloped as the start was effected and will continue to be drawn wide in future mobile start races. Galloped clear of interference at the 1600m, given the time elapsed since the fillies previous start when it galloped in running, no action was taken on this occasion.

 

RACE 7 – BARTLETTS MANUFACTURING TROT (2190 MS)

PERFECT PEAK – Worked forward three wide during the early stages and pulled hard during the middle stages when restraining to receive cover.

OFF YOUR FACESKI – Galloped during the score up and was out of position at the start. Placed out of the draw for future mobile start races.

KELLYBUSH – Inconvenienced briefly during the score up as Off Your Faceski galloped.

MY HIGH PEAK – Pulled hard during the early and middle stages while racing on the peg line. Driver Ellen Tormey was questioned regarding the performance after the gelding gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in last placing beaten 49m. Ms Tormey stated that this was the geldings first run back after some time off and had not trailed prior to todays race. Ms Tormey added that the gelding seemed to be unsettled on the pegline and over raced and then failed to finish off its race competitively. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

 

RACE 8 – BENSTUD STANDARDBREDS TROT (2190 MS)

IRARRA – Driver Ellen Tormey was fined $100 under Rule 162(1)(y) for failing to adhere to the minimum time standards during the first half of the last mile while leading.

BULLAPARK BENO – Inconvenienced by The Chook as that runner galloped at the 300m.

THE CHOOK – Galloped clear of interference at the 300m and a warning was issued.

KYVALLEY ANTHONY – Pulled hard while racing on the peg line throughout.

LINDY GRACE – Galloped under pressure clear of interference at the 300m.

COUNTESS CHIRON – Held up for a clear run during the early stages of the home straight.

RACE 9 – MARYBOROUGH IGA TROT (2190 MS)

SURBITON PRETENDER – Pre and post race veterinary examinations due to the gelding attaining the age of 13 years. Cleared of any obvious abnormalities. Hung out and shifted out at the 1300m resulting in contact to Tubs Now Slim. Hung out and shifted out again at the 400m resulting in interference to Tubs Now Slim. Driver Luke Dunne stated that despite his efforts to maintain a straight course the gelding shifted suddenly on a number of occasions. Surbiton Pretender then tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 82m. Mr Dunne was at a loss to explain the performance. Considering the overall performance the gelding was placed on its last chance to race truly given its manners during the race and placed on its last chance to race competitively given the performance.

THAT OTHER THING – Galloped after the start and trailed the field thereafter. Placed out of the draw in future mobile start.

PLAYA DEL CARMEN – Inconvenienced and contacted marker pegs at the 1300m Hung in under pressure rounding the final turn and contacted marker pegs.

ROLL WITH ROSCO – Trainer requested that the gelding remains outside the mobile barrier draw. Inconvenienced at the 1300m.

CHAMPAGNE – Galloped at the start and will continue out of the mobile barrier draw. Trailed the field throughout.

TUBS NOW SLIM – Ellen Tormey failed to appear in the racebook as the driver. Checked and galloped at the 1300m. Pulled hard during the middle stages. Inconvenienced and galloped at the 400m.

BEAUTIFUL SUNRISE – Inconvenienced after the start as That Other thing galloped.

 

RACE 10 – CONGRATULATIONS MR AND MRS OCONNOR PACE (1690 MS)

IDEAL INVESTMENT - Pre and post race veterinary examinations due to the gelding racing on more than 200 previous occasions. Cleared of any obvious abnormalities.

JEDI MIND - Pre and post race veterinary examinations due to the gelding attaining the age of 13 years and racing on more that 200 previous occasions. Cleared of any obvious abnormalities.

THUNDER BEACH – Pulled hard while racing outside the leader throughout. Tired over the latter stages to be beaten 50.5m and a warning was issued.
