KIAVINO STRIDE– Had difficulty in securing clear running over the concluding stages.

General: Driver N Ford was questioned with regard to his right foot slipping from the foot peg in the home straight in the run to the finish, of concern to the Stewards was that his foot may have moved into the vicinity of SPACEWRITER’s off-hind leg. Driver Ford stated that his foot did slip from the peg on two occasions but claimed he did replace his foot on the peg as quick as possible. Stewards in assessing, gave the benefit of the doubt to driver Ford on this occasion with regard to any significant breach, however reprimanded him for dropping his foot from the sulky foot peg in the run to the finish and strongly reminded him of all his obligations with regard to AHR Rule 170 in general [AHR Rule 170(1)(a)].

On questioning trainer B Yole expressed his concerns with the continual disappointing performances, informing Stewards that SPIRITED STRIDE will be immediately retired from racing. Stewards, although accepting trainer Yole’s evidence none-the-less deemed the performance of SPIRITED STRIDE below the required standard and as such stood the filly down from racing until satisfactorily completing two(2) consecutive qualifying trials. Stewards in placing the embargo were mindful that the filly had been stood down recently.

RACE 7  –  DAKIN REFIGERATION PACE    1680m  Mobile

SERENGETI SUNRISE – Will be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile start events after breaking in the score-up checking other runners thus obliging the starter to declare a false start. Stewards in imposing this embargo, due to SERENGETI SUNRISE’s poor record in this regard informed trainer Davis that the gelding would be required to perform satisfactorily in the score-up and start in at least one registered race start rather than attempting to remove the ODM status through trials.

NOVA BAXTER– Back from its allotted position at the start. Driver Jones was given the benefit of the doubt in this instance taking into account the false start. Broke under pressure leaving the 100.
