STEWARDS REPORT FOR HAMILTON

Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

RACE 1 DIANNE BARKER MEMORIAL PACE (1660MS)

QUICK DECISION – Deafeners failed to realise.

EXOTIC BUSHRANGER – Withstood an early challenge for the lead from FREAK OUT, raced roughly leaving the 1400m, was inclined to hang out on various stages of the race.

LAZENBY – Was restrained to the rear of the field after being caught wide in the early stages. Started to tire leaving the 500m to be beaten 52.9m, a warning was placed against LAZENBY.

FREAK OUT – Unsuccessfully challenged for the lead in the early stages, hung out throughout the early stages of the race and middle stages. A warning was placed against FREAK OUT.

MYSHANIA – Three wide late from 800m.

SHIKOBA – Held up for clear running entering the home straight.

RACE 2 – VALE BOB ROBERTSON PACE (1660 MS)

AREUOHKAY – Dropped offside shin boot shortly after the start. Started to tire leaving the 500m to be beaten 53.6m.  A warning was placed against AREUOHKAY.

SHADY DANCER – Due to having competed in more than 200 lifetime races and in accordance with HRV policy was examined by the veterinarian before and after the race which revealed no apparent abnormalities. Was restrained to the rear of the field after being caught wide in the early stages. Started to give ground from the 400m to be beaten 42.3m.

UNDERATTACK – Surrendered the lead in the middle stages of the race, was inclined to hang in entering the home straight contacting marker pegs.

BETTORPATCHMEUP – Was caught three wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside of the leader.

CLASSACT – Started to give ground from the 400m to be beaten 36.6m.

KEAYANG HONEYJOY – Raced three wide without cover leaving the 1300m, worked forward to take the lead from UNDERATTACK approaching the 1000m.

JILLIBY JAY SEA – Broke the Guider strap shortly after the start, putting JILLIBY JAY SEA to a disadvantage throughout the race.

RACE 3 – JUDY ASTBURY MEMORIAL PACE (2160 MS)

MORGAN ART – Was restrained to the rear of the field after being caught wide in the early stages, then was inclined to pull hard through the middle stages. Hung in when placed under pressure from the 400m to the home straight.

THEY CALL ME AL – Surrendered the lead in the early stages of the race.

SHE WILL WANTANO – Worked three wide in the early stages before obtaining the lead leaving the 1800m.

KEMPSEYS DELIGHT – Due to having competed in more than 200 lifetime races and in accordance with HRV policy was examined by the veterinarian before and after the race which revealed no apparent abnormalities.

GOODTIME MIKI – Raced wide in the early stages before working forward to the position outside of the leader near the 1300m. Started to give ground from the 400m to be beaten 33.9m. Driver Glen Craven reported he was disappointed in the performance of GOODTIME MIKI and the stable would monitor the recovery of the gelding and report back to stewards if anything with the gelding comes about over the next 48 hours. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

RACE 4 – HAMILTON LAUNDRY & DRY CLEANERS TROT (2160 MS)

SOUTHBOUND RED – Started to tire leaving the 700m to be beaten 70.3m, subsequently SOUTHBOUND RED was stood down ten days and one satisfactory steward’s trial.

BILLYSWEARINEM – Started to tire leaving the 700m to be beaten 65.5m, subsequently BILLYSWEARINEM was stood down one satisfactory steward’s trial.

UNSPOKEN LOVE – Pulled hard in various stages of the race. Started to tire leaving the 600m, a warning was placed against UNSPOKEN LOVE.

TOUCHANDGO– Raced three wide in the early stages before working forward to a position.

VELVETNLACE – Raced roughly leaving the 1400m. Held up for clear running entering the home straight then inconvenienced when SOUTHBOUND RED tired.

EARL PATRICK – Raced four and three wide in the early stages of the race before working forward to sit outside DUTCH TEACHER.

BALTIC SPIRIT NZ – Out of position as the start was activated, will continue to be placed out of the draw in future mobile starts.

RACE 5 – PERMEWANS MITRE 10 3YO PACE (1660 MS)

EASTBRO KOZZY – Hung in the early stages of the score up. Three wide from the 800m.

RACE 6 – CLUB MEMBERS OF THE PAST TROTTERS HANDICAP (2160 SS)

BAARLINEE – Surrendered the lead in the middle stages.

THE FIERY SUNSET – Began badly, the filly will now be placed out of the draw in future standing starts. Broke gait when free of interference leaving the 1900m then trailed the field.

MY MATE YANKEE – Raced roughly leaving the 400m.

NOBLE COUNT NZ – Broke gait after the start when free of interference and trailed the field. NOBLE COUNT NZ will now be placed out of the draw in future standing starts.

SHOW ME THE MOOLAH – Fractious before the start, SHOW ME THE MOOLAH will continue to be placed out of the draw in standing starts. Raced three wide in the early stages before surrendering the lead in the middle stages before tiring leaving the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. subsequently SHOW ME THE MOOLAH was stood down one satisfactory steward’s trial.

HOMONYM NZ – Inconvenienced after the start when NOBLE COUNT NZ broke gait after the start when free of interference.

HAUTACAM – Due to having not competed in races for more than twelve (12) months was examined by the veterinarian before and after the race which revealed no apparent abnormalities.

RACE 7 – ALEXANDRA HOUSE SPORTS CLUB PACE (1660 MS)

CREATIVE LAD – Raced three wide in the early stages before working forward to a position.

TUESDAYS EDITION – Due to having not competed in races for more than twelve (12) months was examined by the veterinarian before and after the race which revealed no apparent abnormalities.

SILVER MYSTIQUE – Was restrained to the rear of the field after being caught wide in the early stages. Held up for clear running the entire home straight.

ELUSIVE – Hung in under pressure in the home straight.

RACE 8 – MATTHEWS PETROLEUM PACE (1660 MS)

PLAINS IN HEAVEN – Severely checked and locked wheels with HEAVENLY BRIGADE NZ when AMORE ROCK shifted down the track, trailed the field and took no competitive part in the race.

HEAVENLY BRIGADE NZ – Checked, broke and locked wheels with PLAINS IN HEAVEN NZ when AMORE ROCK shifted down the track, trailed the field.

AMORE ROCK – When racing into the first turn, shifted in when not sufficiently clear of HEAVENLY BRIGADE NZ resulting in that runner being checked, breaking gait and locking wheels with PLAINS IN HEAVEN severely checking that runner and as a consequence SEA FLYER, BETTER EXCLUSIVE NZ and HES ALL ROCK also being checked and inconvenienced.

DIDAFULL ONEEIGHTY – Held up for clear running entering the home straight before using the sprint lane.

SEA FLYER – Severely checked and broke gait as a result of AMORE ROCK shifting ground on the first turn and causing interference.

BETTER EXCLUSIVE NZ – Checked as a result of AMORE ROCK shifting ground on the first turn and causing interference.

HEZ ALL ROCK – Checked as a result of AMORE ROCK shifting ground on the first turn and causing interference.
