Stewards Report

Globe Derby Park – Saturday 30th March 2024

The sprint lane was in operation at tonights event.

Trainers with multiple runners in any one race provided Stewards with their intentions prior to the event.

RACE 1 – HAPPY EASTER PACE – 1800MS

Reinsperson Tony Pullicino (CALCULATING DANCER) was fined $200 under R156(b)(iii) for using the whip with overt force in run to the finish.

A post race veterinary examination of IMA WORKINCLASSMAN (W Hill) revealed the gelding to have suffered a mild colic attack for which it was treated.

PAY ME INTEREST (N Brown) was reinstated in the draw for future mobile barrier races

RACE 2 – 2024 SA BOTRA 2YO KINDERGARTEN SERIES (HEAT 1)

RACE 3 – VALE DAVID HOPKINS PACE – 1800MS

CHILDERS ROAD (J Kittel) and CELESTIAL ZODIAC (K Weidenbach) locked sulky wheels entering the home straight on the final occasion when both horses were inclined to shift ground.

RACE 4 – PACEWAY RESTAURANT RACEDAY DINING PACE – 2230MS

OUR WANTSNNEEDS (M Borg) galloped approaching the turn out of the back straight after the start and checked TREACHEROUS ROCK (D Girardi) which galloped and took no competitive part thereafter.

OUR WANTSNEEDS (M Borg) again galloped near the 1200 metres and a warning was issued.

MISCHIEVOUS MAGGIE (W Hill) was able to obtain a run between LETS GO THERE (T McMahon) and MARTYS PARTY (J Lee) near the 500 metres when both horses shifted ground.

Race 5 – HYGAIN CURCULAIN PRO PACE – 1800MS

PAULIS PRIDE (S Grace) which galloped on the turn into the back straight on the first occasion took no competitive part thereafter and a warning was issued.

RACE 6  – BIANCO REINFORCING PACE – 1800MS

RACE 7  – LADBROKES BLACKBOOK TROTTERS HANDICAP – 2230SS

A warning was placed on KYVALLEY SURFERGIRL (K Rogers) which galloped shortly after the start and took no competitive part thereafter.

RACE 8  – LADBROKES YARD COMMENTS PACE – 1800MS

A post race veterinary examination of THE GAME (J Kittel) which over raced when leading the one out line before giving ground with 800 metres to run and beaten 141 metres revealed no abnormalities. A warning was issued.

RACE 9  – CARDIGAN BOKO SWE @ BELLMOURE PARK TROTTERS HANDICAP – 2230SS

EMU BOB (L Ryan) was a late scratching at 10.11pm when found to be lame in the off hind leg. The gelding will be stood down from racing until a veterinary clearance is tendered.

A false start was called when WISHING ZONE (S Pascoe) ducked under the 30 metre tape.

MAJESTIC LEGEND (M Harding) commenced poorly but due to the false start no action was taken.

BUTCHER KATE (K Weidenbach) galloped leaving the back straight on the first occasion and a warning  was issued. Reinsperson Kevin Weidenbach was also advised to ensure he returns his foot back into the sulky rest in a much timelier manner than he did after the start.

SULTAN SASS (W Hill) galloped near the 350 metres when in a challenging position and a warning was issued.
