Stewards Report

Globe Derby Park – Saturday 6th April 2024

The sprint lane was in operation at tonights event.

Trainers with multiple runners in any one race provided Stewards with their intentions prior to the event.

RACE 1 – BIANCO REINFORCING TROTTERS HANDICAP  – 2230SS

BARHOON (C Johnson) galloped at the start and took no completive part thereafter and a warning issued.

ALDEBARAN DEXTA (R Hryhorec) galloped for a short distance after the start and a warning was issued.

Stewards questioned Dean Girardi (FLINGITANDWINGIT) and Mario Borg (GET LUCKY) as to the reason FLINGITANDWINGIT galloped after leaving the turn off the back on the first occasion.  After taking evidence from both drivers, viewing the videos, Stewards gave Mario Borg the benefit of a doubt that he had caused FLINGITANDWINGIT to gallop however reminded him of his obligations when crossing runners.

RACE 2 –  PORT PIRIE CUPS NIGHT APRIL 13 PACE – 2230MS

DELIGHTFUL MAJOR (K Roger) attempted to kick the driver shortly after the start and broke gait. Thereafter DELIGHTFUL MAJOR refused to pace and was taken from the race. Trainer David Harding was advised DELIGHTFUL MAJOR will be excluded from the draw and required to complete a satisfactory trial prior  to being eligible to race.

RACE 3 – HYGAIN RELEASE PACE - 1800MS

MIKICOOL (G Pullicino) raced roughly shortly after the start and a warning was issued.

DUE TO THE FAILURE OF A SECTION TRACK LIGHTING WHICH COULD NOT BE FIXED RACES 4-9 WERE POSTPONED.
