Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

RACE 1 – VHRC GBL PROPERTIES PACE (2080 MS)

TESTIFIED – Held up for clear running on the final turn prior to utilising the spring lane.

LONESTAR WARRIOR– Hung out at the 900m.  Shifted out entering the home straight.  Driver Ben Xiriha cautioned for a lack of control.

BINN WATCHING – Driver Paul Weidenbach cautioned for racing inside the line of marker pegs on the final turn.

TINMAN – Driver James Herbertson replaced John Caldow (dual engaged).

SUE NIEN- Held up for clear running on the final.

RACE 2 VHRC MAZZETTI PAINTING PACE (2ND HEAT) (2080 MS)

MY ULTIMATE ROMEO – Contacted the final marker peg entering the home straight prior to utilising the sprint lane.  Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.

ROMANY BROWN– Inconvenienced in the home straight by Groom.

GROOM– Pulled hard middle stages.  Hung in and raced roughly at the 400m.  Gave ground in the home straight to be beaten 29m into last placing.

STANDANDELIVER– Held up for clear running on the final tun prior to utilising the sprint lane.

ILLAWONG PHOENIX– Held up for clear running on the final tun prior to utilising the sprint lane.

RACE 3 – VHRC RENOWN SILVERWARE PACE (1609 MS)

SHALLOW BEACH – Driver Austin Mifsud was queried regarding the performance after giving ground in the home straight to be beaten 46m into 7th placing.  Mr.Mifsud stated that Shallow Beach would derive plenty of benefit from the run given the rig hadn’t started in over a month.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.

TRINITYS DELIGHT– Began badly and trailed the field.  The mare will now be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.

LENARD ESS– Inconvenienced after the start by Trinitys Delight.

STORMONT STAR– Inconvenienced after the start by Trinitys Delight.

MISTIE REIGN – Contacted own sulky and pulled hard outside the leader.

RACE 4 – COLIN REDWOOD MEMORIAL VSTA TROTTERS HANDICAP (2ND HEAT) (2080 SS)

YOGI SON NZ – Began badly and trailed the field.  The gelding will now be placed outside of the draw in future stand start events.

OUR SAFARI SUN– Utilised the sprint lane in the home straight.

SANGREAL– Inconvenienced after the start by Yogi Son NZ.

OVERANDOUT– Hung in and contacted marker pegs on the first turn.

RACE 5 – VHRC WOODLANDS STUD PACE (1609 MS)

OUR ARABELLA – Inconvenienced by Paigethehurrikane and raced roughly on first turn.  Held up for clear running on the final tun prior to utilising the sprint lane.

PAIGETHEHURRIKANE– Inconvenienced approaching first turn by Nicolescruiser which hung in.  Hung in, contacted marker pegs and raced roughly on first turn.  Pulled hard middle stages.

NICOLESCRUISER– Hung in approaching first turn, warning issued.

RACE 6 – VHRC ALABAR FARMS PACE (3RD HEAT) (2080 MS)

IM THE MIGHTYGRAMPS – Held up for clear running on the final turn prior to utilising the sprint lane.

WATTLEBANK FLYER NZ – (12+ yrs, 200+ starts) Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy.  Neither check revealed any abnormality.

TOPHUT JOHNY – Driver James Herbertson replaced Chris Alford (dual engaged).

HEAVENSVILLE – Broke gait when clear of interference approaching the 300m and placed on last chance to race truly.  Driver Ross Payne was queried regarding the overall performance of the mare.  Mr.Payne stated the mare failed to handle the track and raced roughly at various stages.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed a small cut to the off side front leg, however no stand-down was imposed.

PRECIOUS BELLE NZ– Pulled hard during the score up, warning issued.  Driver Taylor Ford was cautioned for failing to maintain her position at the start.  Pulled hard middle stages.

RACE 7 – VHRC MARK GURRY & ASSOCIATES MAIDEN PACE (2080 MS)

LAVADA GOLD – Utilised sprint lane in home straight.

ROBLEN RANGER– Hung out on first turn (warning issued) and contacted the near side sulky wheel of Little Art, breaking gait as a result.

LITTLE ART– Sulky contacted by Roblen Ranger on the first turn.  Driver Darren Pace was queried regarding the performance of the gelding which tired to be beaten 71m into last placing.  Mr.Pace could offer no explanation for the performance and a post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery.  A warning was issued against the performance of Little Art.

ALAMO– Broke in the early stages of the score up and placed on last chance in draw.

MIDNITE DESIRE– Held up for clear running on the final turn.

ATOMIC GLORY– Contacted marker pegs on the first turn.  Held up for clear running on the final turn prior to utilising the sprint lane.

ANGEL OF ANGER- Broke in the middle stages of the score up and placed on last chance in draw.

RACE 8 – DUAL CODE GOOD FRIDAY 29 MARCH PACE (2555 MS)

IDEAL INVESTMENT – (200+ starts) Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy.  Neither check revealed any abnormality.  Tired to be beaten 89m into last placing and placed on last chance to race competitively.

LOTAKEVI – (12+ yrs) Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy.  Neither check revealed any abnormality.  Broke under pressure in the home straight and placed on last chance to race truly.

LITTLE SAFARI – (12+ yrs) Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy.  Neither check revealed any abnormality.  Held up for clear running on the final turn prior to utilising the sprint lane.
