STEWARDS REPORT FOR CRANBOURNE

Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

RACE 1 – LATHER UP STANDING @ WOODLANDS STUD PACE (2080 MS)

STRAPPING RED – Hung in and contacted marker pegs on the final turn.  Held up for clear running on the final turn prior to utilising sprint lane.

GOTTAHAVEAHOBBIE – Driver George Schembri fined $100 under AHR Rule 162(1)(j) for failing to maintain his position behind the starting gate until the start.  Tired to be beaten 55m into last placing and will now be stood down from racing for a period of 10 days and the completion of one satisfactory trial.

VILLAGE VOICE – Gave ground in home straight to be beaten 36m into 11th placing.

ROCKNROLL WALLA – Held up for clear running on the final turn prior to utilising sprint lane.

RACE 2 – DECRON WARRAGUL PACING CUP (1ST HEAT) (2080 MS)

WATTLEBANK FLYER– (12+ yrs, 200+ starts) Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy.  Neither check revealed any abnormality.  Driver Sean O’Sullivan fined $200 under AHR Rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion in the home straight.

BLISSFULL MIND– Held up for clear running on the final turn prior to utilising sprint lane.

GOODTIME BRAVO– Broke after the start and will now be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.

ILLAWONG PHOENIX– Tired over the final 300m to be beaten 51m into last placing, warning issued.

BLACK TUXEDO– Pulled hard early stages.  Broke gait when clear of interference at the 1400m and placed on last chance to race truly.

TINO TERE MAORI– Checked and broke after the start.  Pulled hard middle stages.

BREATHE EASY– Inconvenienced by Black Tuxedo at the 1400m.

SWEET REVENGE NZ– Inconvenienced after the start by Goodtime Bravo.  Held up for clear running on the final turn.

SHALLOW BEACH– Late scratching at 4.10pm with Stewards Permission.

RACE 3 – HYGAIN WARRAGUL PACING CUP (2ND HEAT) (2080 MS)

ALCATRAZ GIRL – Driver Glenn Bull fined $100 under AHR Rule 162(1)(y) for failing to adhere to the minimum time standards while leading (65.3 first half).

LAVADA GOLD- Held up for clear running on the final turn prior to utilising sprint lane.

STANDANDELIVER– Driver Sean O’Sullivan cautioned for racing inside the line of the final marker peg on the home turn.  Held up for clear running in the home straight.

BLAZIN HEAVEN NZ– Held up for clear running on the final turn.

TYABB WONDER- Held up for clear running on the final turn prior to utilising sprint lane.

LUVERBOY– Pulled hard middle stages.

MAXNJAX- Pulled hard middle stages.

FIGHTNFURY– Underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the request of trainer which found the gelding to be lame in the left foreleg and has now been stood down from racing for 7 days and must obtain a veterinary clearance.

SOMEBEACHDREAMIN– Held up for clear running on the final turn.

RACE 4 – ALDEBARAN PARK TROT (1609 MS)

DA PREZ – Raced rough under pressure and broke gait when clear of interference in the home straight.  The gelding has now been stood down from racing until the completion of one satisfactory trial.

MYRTLE VALE – Held up for clear running on the final turn.

DICKO DIXON – Broke when clear of interference approaching the 1100m.

REIGNING LILLIES – Driver Michael Bellman failed to appear in the racebook.

MISTA WALKER– Raced roughly on the final turn.

AGAINST THE BRIDLE– Inconvenienced by Dicko Dixon approaching the 1100m.

YOGI SON NZ– Out of position at the start and will continue to be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.

RACE 5 – HIP POCKET WORKWEAR & SAFETY MORNINGTON PACE (1609 MS)

DALLAS NIKOLAY– (200+ starts) Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy.  Neither check revealed any abnormality.

TEX GOES BANG– Held up for clear running on the final turn prior to utilising sprint lane.

PAIGETHEHURRIKANE– Gave ground from the 400m to be beaten 40m into 6th placing.

MY ULTIMATE ROMEO– Late scratching at 2.00pm on Vets Advice.

OLLY ODD POTTS – Gave ground in the home straight to be beaten 47m into last placing.  Driver Shannon O’Sullivan beleived that the mare had tied up.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.  Stewards will follow up on the recovery of the gelding in the coming days.

RACE 6 – MARK GURRY & ASSOCIATES PACE (1609 MS)

I WANT IT ALL NZ– Late scratching at 4.10pm with Stewards Permission.

OUR ARABELLA– Late scratching at 4.10pm with Stewards Permission.

SHEZABLUECHIP– Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.

BOND GIRL– Pulled hard middle stages.

SIR FLOYD – Pulled hard in the score up and was out of position at the start, resulting in a false start being declared.  The gelding will now be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.  Held up for clear running on the final turn prior to utilising sprint lane.

DIAMONDSNBLUE– Late scratching at 4.10pm with Stewards Permission.

RACE 7 – BETAVET MAIDEN PACE (2080 MS)

BETTOR BREEZE ON – Held up for clear running on the final turn.

MIAMI ROCKS– Fractious before start and placed on last chance in draw.  Tired from the 400m to be beaten 68m into last placing, warning issued.

ITS NORMAS LAST– Pulled hard middle stages and held up for clear running on the final turn.

REINDER – Gave ground from the 300m to be beaten 34m into 7th placing.

HE HAD BETTER BE – Hung in and contacted marker pegs on first turn.  Pulled hard middle stages.

LAVENDI RICKY– Late scratching at 4.10pm with Stewards Permission.

RACE 8 – CRANBOURNE FENCING MAIDEN PACE (2080 MS)

RUBIO NZ – Tired to be beaten 124m into 8th placing.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality and the gelding has now been stood down from racing until the completion of one satisfactory trial.

IM JIMMY JONES– Raced roughly on the first turn and hung out early stages.

ATA RANGI– Out of position at the start, warning issued.  Pulled hard early stages.

BALLISTIC MISSILE– Broke after the start and will continue to be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.  Tired to be beaten 129m into last placing and the horse has been stood down from racing until the completion of one satisfactory trial.
