Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
RACE 1 – THE FLYING PAINTER PACE (2100MS)
RAPTOR RAIDER (A. De Campo) - Trainer/Driver A. De Campo was fined $100 under HR273(6)(b) for presenting the gelding in gear not approved by the Stewards. Out of position as the start was effected. Will continue to be placed outside the mobile draw. Held up for the majority of the home straight.
LORD PUBLISHER NZ (B. Edman) - Pulled hard in the score up making contact with BELLES WHISPER (R. Warwick) and raced roughly for a short distance.
GEARSINWHIRL (M. Miller) - Over-raced through the early and middle stages.
RACE 2 – BREATHE ACCOUNTING PACE (2100MS)
IM ROCKIN ROD (J. Justins) - Raced roughly shortly after the start was effected.
RODGER JAMES (T. Lynn) - Sustained a near side flat tyre shortly after the start was effected when being markedly restrained through the field and being contacted by HEART OF SAHARA (R. Warwick).
CAVALRY CALL (S. Suvaljko) - Hung outwards under pressure in the front straight on the final occasion.
JIMMY RECARD (L. Steer) - Over-raced through the early and middle stages. Yielded ground from the 400m to be beaten 71 metres.
FIREPLAY (T. Wheeler) - Broke gait in the score up and was subsequently out of position as the start was effected. Will be placed outside the draw in future mobile barrier events. Trailed the field thereafter and took no competitive part.
HEART OF SAHARA (R. Warwick) - Inconvenienced shortly after the start and contacted the nearside sulky wheel of RODGER JAMES (T. Lynn).
RACE 3 – BENCHMARK HORSE FEEDS PACE (1609MS)
MINNENOOKA (B. Edman) - Inclined to hang outwards for the majority.
Trainer/Driver C. Voak (HALF KIDDING) was fined $100 under HR273(6)(b) for presenting the gelding in gear not approved by the Stewards.
MISS STEFANI (L Steer) - Hung inwards under pressure over the concluding stages.
THORIUM ENERGY (C. Wallrodt) - Broke gait leaving the back straight on the first occasion. Will be stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until such time as the completion of a satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
RACE 4 – THE TROTS WA PACE (1609MS)
CAMEOS DELIGHT (E. Suvaljko) - Yielded ground from the 400m to be beaten 73 metres.
STIRUP IRON JACK (A. Suvaljko) - Broke gait shortly after the start was effected. Will be placed outside the draw in future mobile barrier events.
NOMOREPINTSFORYOU (C. Voak) - Broke gait under pressure in the front straight on the final occasion. Will be stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until such time as the completion of a satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
BLAZE ON NZ (D. Roberts) - Inconvenienced in the front straight on the final occasion.
QUEENINTHECORNER (L. Elliott) - Held up for the majority of the home straight.
CAPTAIN BLIGH (G. Hall Jnr) - Checked shortly after the start was effected.
RACE 5 – TABTOUCH C, E& G RACINGWA WESTBRED FEATURE PACE (2100MS)
FLYIN DISCO (G. Hall Jnr) - Utilised the sprint lane to win the event.
TIMES TICKIN (S. Suvaljko) - Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
HAYWIRE (K. Symington) - Raced roughly entering the front straight on the final occasion. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
Driver R. Eyre (ALLWOOD MACH) was shown a section of the vision entering the back straight on the final occasion where after shifting outwards momentarily before CALLMEWHATUWANT (T. Lynn) had established a position to his outside resulting in that runner racing four wide. After consideration, Stewards reminded Mr Eyre of his obligations under HR163(1)(b)(i) when shifting position.
RACE 6 – SWAN DRAUGHT BUNBURY CUP (G3) PACE (2569MS)
SWINGBAND (K. Symington) - Hung outwards under pressure in the front straight on the final occasion.
CORDERO (C. Suvaljko) - Yielded ground from the 400m to be beaten 49 metres.
VALENTINES BROOK (J. Young) - Held up for clear running for the entirety of the home straight.
RACE 7 – NEXUS PACE (2503SS)
HES THUNDER (S. Steele) - Hung inwards approaching the front straight on the final occasion contacting numerous marker pegs.
SWAGGERMAN NZ (K. Symington) - Galloped out. Will be placed outside the draw in future standing start events.
RACE 8 – BANANA FEEDS AUSTRALIA 3YO FILLIES PACE (2100MS)
BROOKVALEGIRL (E. Suvaljko) - Over-raced through the early and middle stages.
TERASITA (C. Voak) - Out of position as the start was effected. Will continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw. Yielded ground from the 600m to be beaten 287 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Will be stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until such time as the completion of a satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
HURRICANE JOY (S. Steele) - Over-raced through the early and middle stages.
