RACE 1 – LITTLE WYCH SPELLING GOLD BRACELET CONSOLATION – 1730 metres

SHES GOT A REASON– Pre-race blood sample.

MICKEYS BRIDE– Pre-race blood sample. Checked and broke stride inside the final 50 metres when DREAMTIME NALA shifted wider on the track, at a similar point to MICKEYS BRIDE hanging in under pressure.

FIREPROOF– Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

EYE CAN TRY– Broke stride as a result of contacting the sulky wheel of PENCIL ME IN passing the 500 metres. After taking evidence from Driver Robert Morris, it was accepted that passing the 500 metres, PENCIL ME IN had commenced to improve three wide, before being shifted wider by MICKEYS BRIDE when that runner commenced to improve into the event. At this point, Will Rixon elected to ease PENCIL ME IN slightly to take cover from MICKEYS BRIDE causing EYE CAN TRY to improve onto its back and contact the sulky wheel and therefore Stewards determined to take no further action. Post-race swab sample.

DREAMTIME NALA– Driver Jett Turnbull was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that he permitted the filly to shift out under pressure in the home straight causing MICKEYS BRIDE to be checked and break stride inside the final 50 metres.

RACE 2 – AOK FABRICATION GOLD CHALICE CONSOLATION – 1730 metres

MAURLEN BOY– Pre-race blood sample. Caught racing wide in the early stage of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1250 metres.

WINGMAN LOU– Caught racing wide in the early stage of the event before working forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres. Post-race swab sample.

DEBONAIRE– Pre-race blood sample.

RACE 3 – CORDINA RACING HONOUREE STAKES FINAL – 1730 metres

SPORTS NARRATOR– Pre-race blood sample. Broke stride during the early stages of the score up. After considering the recent record of the colt, a warning was issued. Driver Ashleigh Delosa reported to Stewards that the under check worn by the colt became dislodged upon entry to the first turn.

YES YOU MAY– Pre-race blood sample.

MOS LONDON– Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

BEER MONEY– Raced roughly after the start.

TOSSIES SON NZ– Improved three wide from the 1400 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 1200 metres.

DON BOSTON– Pre-race blood sample. Examined prior to and following the running of the event as the gelding is 15 years of age and has competed in excess of 200 race starts. The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

RACE 4 – MICHAEL BROWN PLANNING STRATEGIES BATHURST MAYORS CUP – 2260 metres

HEAVENLY HOLLY– Pre-race blood sample.

CASSIUS DECK– Pre-race blood sample.

ON DEADLINE NZ– Worked forward to the lead passing the 1800 metres. Post-race swab sample. An inquiry was adjourned in relation to the position of Driver Nathan Turnbull in the sulky over the concluding stages of the event.

PORT AU PRINCE NZ- Pre-race blood sample. Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1800 metres.

OLD LUKE NZ– Caught racing wide in the early stage of the event before being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1800 metres.

MYMATEPOG– Pre-race blood sample.

CANTFINDABETTORMAN NZ– Improved three wide from the 1300 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 900 metres.

RACE 5 – NUTRIEN EQUINE GOLD BRACELET FINAL (GROUP 2) – 1730 metres

LIBBY LOU– Post-race swab sample. Driver Blake Fitzpatrick pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 156(2)(a), in that he applied the whip to the filly in the home straight with a free hand. After considering the recent record of Mr Fitzpatrick, in addition to status of the event, he was fined $400.

SOHO VESPER LIND– Pre-race blood sample. Checked upon entry to the first turn when AROMET GIRL broke stride. Post-race swab sample.

SARA TA SLOY– Pre-race blood sample. Checked upon entry to the first turn when AROMET GIRL broke stride. Stewards questioned Driver Jack Trainor with regards to the performance of the filly which tired over the concluding stages of the event to finish in 9th placing beaten 39 metres. Mr Trainor advised Stewards the filly was heavily in season and may now go for a spell. After considering the explanation provided by Mr Trainor, Stewards determined to note his comments.

MAMMALS HEART– Checked and broke after the start when AROMET GIRL hung out.

AROMET GIRL– Hung out after the start and raced roughly, checking MAMMALS HEART and inconvenienced CENTOFELLIE causing MAMMALS HEART to break stride.  Broke stride free of interference upon entry to the first turn inconveniencing EUREKA JO and checking SOHO VESPER LIND and SARA TA SLOY. After considering the recent record of the filly, a warning was issued.

EUREKA JO– Pre-race blood sample. Inconvenienced upon entry to the first turn when AROMET GIRL broke stride. Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 200 metres.

CENTOFELLIE– Inconvenienced after the start when MAMMALS HEART was checked and broke stride.

LUX AETERNA– Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres. Stewards questioned Driver Rickie Alchin with regards to the performance of the filly which tired over the concluding stages to finish in 5th placing beaten 6.6 metres. Mr Alchin advised Stewards he was disappointed with the performance of the filly which failed to let down over the concluding stages of the event. A post-race veterinary examination of LUX AETERNA revealed the filly to have an elevated heart rate and a poor post-race recovery and was stood down until the production of a veterinary certificate of clearance.

SOHO HONEY RIDER– Over raced throughout the middle stages of the event. Post-race swab sample.

BOULEVARDOFDREAMS– Pre-race blood sample. Held up in the home straight and was not fully tested.

RACE 6 – LLOWALONG FARMS GOLD CHALICE FINAL (GROUP 2) – 1730 metres

MINOS NZ– Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

AMERICAN SPIRIT– Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 200 metres.

RAVISHING SLOY– Pre-race blood sample. Hung out approaching the 800 metres.

NOVANTA RISING– Hung out after the start and raced roughly. Broke stride free of interference upon entry to the first turn. After considering the recent record of the gelding, a warning was issued.

WAR DAN BUDDY– Pre-race blood sample. Hung in when racing three wide in the early stages before working forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres. Post-race swab sample.

DASHING– Caught racing 3 wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to a position in the running line passing the 1350 metres.

ROYAL CRUISER– Post-race swab sample.

SOHO SPECTRE– Pre-race blood sample. Improved three wide from the 900 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 800 metres.

NATHAN STREET– Improved three wide with cover from the 900 metres. Hung in and raced roughly passing the 800 metres. Stewards questioned Driver Jack Trainor with regards to the performance of the colt which tired over the concluding stages to finish in 9th placing beaten 37 metres. Mr Trainor reported to Stewards the colt commenced to hang in badly passing the 800 metres and effectively lost all chance and as a result he was kind to the colt over the concluding stages and the colt would now go for a spell. After considering the explanation provided by Mr Trainor, Stewards determined to note his comments.

RACE 7 – AOK FABRICATION GOLD TIARA FINAL (GROUP 1) – 1730 metres

BITTERSWEET– Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

SPICYSHANNON– Pre-race blood sample.

OUR ULTIMATE JESSY– Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

KIMA– Pre-race blood sample. Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1300 metres.

SHES CRUISIN– Pre-race blood sample.

PEACE OUT– Pre-race blood sample. Broke after the start. After considering the recent record of the filly, was placed outside the mobile barrier draw. Driver Lleyton Green reported to Stewards the filly had cast its offside fore plate during the event.

WICKED SUSAN– Post-race swab sample.

PERSONIFIED– Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1100 metres.

THE SWIFT ONE– Broke stride free of interference passing the 400 metres. After considering the recent record of the filly a warning was issued.

RACE 8 – LITTLE WYCH SPELLING GOLD CROWN FINAL (GROUP 1) – 1730 metres

FOX DAN– Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

SANCHEZ– Pre-race blood sample. Stewards questioned Driver Nathan Jack with regards to the colt tiring over the concluding stages of the event to finish in 9th placing beaten 45 metres. Mr Jack advised stewards he was disappointed with the performance of the colt and would look to have bloods taken early next week. Mr Jack further advised that should the blood results not reveal any abnormalities he would continue with the preparation of SANCHEZ however if the results indicate otherwise the colt would likely go for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination of the colt failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After considering the explanation provided by Mr Jack, Stewards determined to note his comments.

MY ULTIMATE BARNEY– Pre-race blood sample. Post-race blood sample.

SOHO FURY– Broke stride during the latter stages of the score up and as a result was out of position at the start and took no competitive part in the event. After considering the recent record of the colt, a warning was issued.

WAZZA– Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

BUSINESS IN HEAVEN– Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1300 metres.

SWEET ON LEXY– Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1000 metres. Hung in when placed under pressure passing the 400 metres.

SOHO THE REAL DEAL– Pre-race blood sample. Driver Michael Stanley pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 156(2)(a), in that he applied the whip to the colt in the home straight in a manner which was not considered to be a wrist only flicking motion. After considering the recent record of Mr Stanley, in addition to the Group 1 status of the event, he was fined $400.

JACKS ULTIMATE FURY NZ– Pre-race blood sample.

RACE 9 – MIDDLE CREEK QUARRY GOLD CROWN GOLD CONSOLATION – 1730 metres

KINGSTON RAINBOW– Pre-race blood sample.

SPRINGFIELD AMORE– Worked forward to the lead passing the 1400 metres. Post-race swab sample.

WAMBOYNE MACHETE– Pre-race blood sample.

OHOKA DREAM– Pre-race blood sample. Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1300 metres.

SPITFIRE– Inconvenienced upon entry to the home straight when DANCE WITH CARMER hung out and raced greenly.

DANCE WITH CARMER– Pre-race blood sample. Hung out and raced greenly upon entry to the home straight and inconvenienced SPITFIRE.

RACE 10 – PANORAMA HOTEL GOLD TIARA GOLD CONSOLATION – 1730 metres

DRAMA CHICK– Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

AVA LEANNE– Checked and broke passing the 1400 metres when SOHO AMERICANO was shifted down the track.

FREEDOM ART– Caught racing wide in the early stage of the event before working forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres.

SOHO AMERICANO– Pre-race blood sample. Driver Luke McCarthy pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that he permitted his runner to shift down the track when not sufficiently clear of AVA LEANNE rounding the first turn causing that runner to be placed in restricted room and as a result broke stride. After considering the recent record of Mr McCarthy, in addition to SOHO AMERICANO hanging in at the crucial point, his licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 10 days. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres.

DOLLY ROCKET– Pre-race blood sample.

SOMETHING FOR LEXY– Stewards questioned Driver Bernie Hewitt with regards to the performance of the filly which tired over the final 600 metres of the event to finish in 8th placing beaten 60 metres. Mr Hewitt advised Stewards he was disappointed with the performance of the filly but believed she may have come to the end of her preparation and would now go for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After considering the recent record of the filly, it was stood down until the completion of one satisfactory trial.

RACE 4 - MICHAEL BROWN PLANNING STRATEGIES BATHURST MAYORS CUP - 2260 metres

An inquiry into driver Nathan Turnbull allowing his body to protrude from the sulky of ON DEADLINE NZ over the concluding stages of the abovementioned event was finalied at Bathurst on 3 April 2024. Mr Tunrbull pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 170 (2) and was fined $100.
