STEWARDS REPORT FOR BALLARAT

Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted. 

 

RACE 1 – NUTRIEN 2YO PACING COLTS & GELDINGS (1st Heat)   (2200 MS)

THE  HIGHLIGHT REEL – Trainer Clayton Tonkin was cautioned for failing notify the gear for the colt.

GOLDEN TRIBE– Raced roughly making the turn into the home straight and again for a short distance near the 100m.

VINEY- Raced roughly making the turn into the home straight.

 

RACE 2 – NUTRIEN 2YO PACING COLTS & GELDINGS (1st Heat)   (2200 MS)

CIGANO – Raced rough for a short distance in the back straight near the 1600m.

 

RACE 3 – BALLARAT SPORTSMAN ASSOCIATION NUTRIEN 2YO PACING FILLIES (1st Heat)   (2200 MS)

SENSATIONALIZE – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight. Driver Nathan Jack was fined $ 100 under AHRR 162 (1)(www)(c) for permitting his horse to shift outwards under pressure in the home straight resulting in LILLY LOTUS obtaining and inside run.

IVSEENHEAVENSLIGHT– Hung out after the start and broke gait. The filly will now be placed on its last chance to ace truly.

LILLY LOTUS– Hung in under pressure in the straight.

ACT FAST– Was withdrawn at 10.39am on veterinary advice and will now be stood down for 28 days.

 

RACE 4 – BILLIES LEGEND NUTRIEN 2YO PACING FILLIES (2nd Heat)   (2200 MS)

MISS AUSTRALIANA– Shifted abruptly approaching the bell lap.

GALAXY LASS– Hung out and raced roughly near the 500m.

EVILEYE– Out of position after braking in the score up. The filly will now be placed outside the draw at its future mobile starts.

MY LITTLE BO– Inconvenienced approaching the bell lap.

RACE 5 – NATIONAL TILES (3rd Heat) (2200 MS)

ADMIRALOFTHEFLEET– Hung in and raced wide in the early stages. Hung in under pressure in the home straight.

BRAEBEACH NZ– Raced wide in the early stages.

PRECIOUS BELLE NZ– Pulled hard in running.

 

RACE 6 – WAYNE BERRY PLUMBING (4th Heat) (2200 MS)

CARRAMAR HAZEL – As the mare was engaged to race at Melton on 12 April 2024 it underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no significant abnormalities.

MICHEN ROY– Held up and had difficulty obtaining clear running in home straight.

RUDY GEE– Pulled hard in running.

KEAYANG TOKYO- In accordance with HRV Animal Welfare Policy (Not raced for 12mths+) it underwent pre- and post-race veterinary examinations.  Both examinations revealed no significant abnormalities.

 

 

RACE 7 – TREVER PETRIE REAL ESTATE PACE (1710 MS)

ETIZ AMODEL– Sulky contacted during running and returned with flat tyres.

CARUSO STAR– Raced three wide throughout. When questioned Driver Chris Romanidis stated that after being caught wide he attempted to get into the one out line when CORNISH SMUGGLER improved however was unable to do so when SIR FLOYD improved to its inside. Thereafter CARUSO STAR commenced to race keenly, and he was unable to restrain it to the rear and was then race three wide throughout.

FRAGMENTAL- Pulled hard in running and contacted a sulky in running.

 

RACE 8 – THE HAYMARKET MAIDEN TROT (1710 MS)

REINE DE LA LUNE – Raced roughly under pressure on two occasions in the final lap and a warning was issued.

HESTUFFENOUGH– Raced three wide in the early stages. Tired beaten 77m and was placed on its last chance to race competitively.

MAJESTIC PARIS– As the mare had raced the previous day it underwent pre- and post-race veterinary examinations.  Both examinations revealed no significant abnormalities.

FAITH FULL– Out of position in the score up and will continue to be placed right outside the draw at its future mobile starts. Held up in the early part of the home straight,
