Gawler – Monday 25th March 2024

Trainers with multiple runners in any one race provided Stewards with their intentions prior to the event.

GENERAL

Late driver changes were approved.

Race 5 H7. Dean Girardi replacing David Smith unavailable.

Race 1. H6 Tiana McMahon replacing Gaita Pullicino.

Race 5. H4 Tony Pullicino replacing Gaita Pullicino indisposed. Medical clearance required.

RACE 1 – SA BOTRA TROTTERS MOBILE – 2070MS

RACE 2 – LIGHT REGIONAL COUNCIL PACE – 207MS

ABHISHEK (T McMahon) which galloped shortly after the start will be excluded from the draw in future mobile barrier races.

Reinsperson Ken Rogers (IDEAL MELODY) was fined $100 under R231(2) for misconducting himself by making remarks to persons outside the track after the warm down lap.

A post race veterinary of POWERLINC (G Bell) which after racing in a favourable trail gave ground to be beaten 52 metres revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Gina Bell to advise should anything arise subsequently post race.

RACE 3 – JEREMY SEAL APPRECIATION TROTTERS MOBILE  - 2070MS

POSH KYVALLEY (T Brown) underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as it had not started in a race since December 2022. Passed fit to start.

POSH KYVALLEY which galloped after the start thereafter took no competitive part as it also galloped in running to be beaten 331 metres and will be stood down until it completes a requalifying trial.

A warning was placed on ATOUT (R Hryhorec) as it galloped inside the final 100 metres

RACE 4 – HRYHOREC RACING ENTIRES & GELDINGS PACE – 1609MS

A post race veterinary examination of OUR SEQUEL (W Hill) confirmed it had bled from both nostrils. Stood down 3 months under R101(3)(a) and a veterinary clearance, and a satisfactory trial.

A post race veterinary examination of EUGENE BROMAC which was beaten 48 metres revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Joe Russo to advise should anything arise subsequent to the race.

Trainer Shane Loone was informed under no circumstances is he to ride on the sulky when returning to the race day stalls.

Race 5 – 2024 GHRC MEMBERS COUNTRY GRADUATION SERIES (HEAT 5)– 2070

The removable hood on DREAMY CASTAFIORE (D Girardi) when released became entangled in the front legs of the mare and consequently eased from race. Gear was inspected and found to be of good quality.

A post race veterinary examination of TRADE WHISPERS (R Hryhorec) which was beaten 98 metres revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Peter Mudge to advise should anything arise subsequent to the race.

Reinsperson Wayne Hill (HEZA PLAYER) was fined $100 under R168(1)(a) for contacting and puncturing the offside sulky tyre of FLYIN TOMMY (S Pascoe) near the 300 metres.

RACE 6  – SA PONY TROTS ENTIRES & GELDINGS PACE – 1609MS

A post race veterinary of UBETCHA (W Hill) revealed the gelding had a blood discharge off nostril. Stood down 14 days and a satisfactory trial.
