Race 1 - BURWOOD STUD 2YO PACE 1660M

Tara Kate surrendered the lead near the 1100 metres. Gave ground from the 450 metres.

Tenggeri was slightly out of position when the start was effected – no action taken as Stewards took into consideration that this was the gelding’s first start. Hung in near the 400 metres resulting in its inside sulky wheel contacting a marker peg – no action as Stewards took into consideration that this was the gelding’s first start. Held up behind a tiring runner racing into the final turn then finished well once clear. Trainer Darrel Graham was reprimanded under the provisions of AHRR 269 for failing to notify gear for the gelding.

Mullum Aretha raced roughly racing into the first turn then subsequently broke free of interference a short distance later – placed on her last chance to race truly. Connections advised the Stewards that the filly would now be spelled.

Udderly Sweet worked forward three wide to take over the lead near the 1100 metres. Held up behind a tiring runner into the final turn then finished strongly once clear.

Maywyns Mighty Mac raced in a four back peg line position prior to shifting out to lead the one wide line approaching the 1000 metres.

Little Surfer Girl had a tendency to race slightly rough near the 400 metres.

Our Sweet Delight was out of position when the start was effected – no action taken against the colt due to this being its first start. When questioned regarding the colt being out of position at the start driver Pete McMullen told the Stewards that he elected to be careful in the score up as the preceding runner was also having its first race start. As well as noting the explanation, Stewards will request a comprehensive betting analysis from the QRIC Betting Analyst.

Race 2 – TESKI CLEANING SERVICES PACE  1660M

Notta Louczar hung out in the latter stages of the score then broke stride shortly after the start was effected – placed out of the draw in mobile barrier races.

My Secret Beach withstood a short early challenge for the lead.

Filly Thirteen issued a short unsuccessful early challenge for the lead then was obliged to lead the one wide line thereafter. 

Tulhurst Cuddles was inconvenienced near the 300 metres when racing in tight quarters prior to shifting down to utilise the sprint lane.  

Race 3 – GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PACE           2138M

Artistic Saint over raced throughout the middle stages of the race.

Cheddar Made Beta NZ surrendered the lead near the 1400 metres.

Geldof gave ground over the concluding stages having led the one wide line throughout.

Shevchenko commenced a three wide run near the 1550 metres to work forward to the lead near the 1400 metres.

Race 4 - KELATO ANIMAL HEALTH BAND HANDICAP 2138M SS

Bosch NZ galloped out – placed on his last chance in the draw in standing start races.

Aqua Sancta NZ galloped away. Having considered the gelding’s record Stewards placed him right out of the draw in standing start races.

Little Bolt raced in a one out one back trail until shifting out near the 1700 metres to work forward to take over the position leading the one wide line near the 1450 metres.

Nurburgring NZ surrendered the lead after 400 metres then immediately retook the lead.

Bombadier Jujon galloped away – continue to be placed out of the draw in standing start races.

Despondent took over the lead after 400 metres then surrendered the lead entering the back straight on the first occasion. Utilised the sprint lane to finish second.

Rock Bottom NZ was held up for clear running until reaching the home straight – finished well once clear. 

Miracle Moose NZ galloped away – continue out of the draw in standing start races.

Send It galloped away - a warning was issued.

Race 5 – SELECTIVE MOTORS ALBION PACE      1660M

Fly Cheval commenced a three wide run from one out one back near the 1100 metres to take over the position leading the one wide line approaching the 900 metres. Gave ground from the 300 metres.

It Aint Royal withstood strong early challenges for the lead.

Lets Get Shorty was severely checked by a galloping runner near the 250 metres.

Rocco Variety issued a short early challenge for the lead prior to being restrained to the trailing position behind the leader.

Yella issued a strong unsuccessful three wide early challenge for the lead prior to being restrained to a three back peg line position. Over raced throughout the middle stages. Hung in on the final turn resulting in its inside sulky wheel contacting and dislodging a number of marker pegs - having considered the gelding’s recent record in this regard, Stewards placed him on his last chance to race truly.

Convinced after racing with a one out one back trail early the gelding was left leading the one wide line prior near the 1250 metres to gaining a one out one  back trail approaching the 1000 metres.

Denis The Punter after settling in last place from a wide second row draw attempted to gain ground out wide from the 550 metres however, whilst labouring out wide on the final turn the gelding hung in near the 300 metres then broke stride when corrected by its driver – placed on its last chance to race truly. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant findings however, the gelding exhibited a slow post race recovery.

Race 6 - PRYDE'S EASIFEED BIOMARE PACE            1660M

Copy Writer was slowly away.

Beach On Fire surrendered the lead after 300 metres. 

Lulu Mae worked forward from outside the leader to take the lead after 300 metres. Was unable to hold the lead when challenged, losing that position leaving the front straight with a lap to travel.

Braeview Fella worked forward three wide to take over the position leading the one wide line near the 1300 metres.

Bettys Gold Class had difficulty gaining a clear run to the finish. 

The Janitor NZ raced three wide whilst being restrained at the start then worked forward to take over the lead near the 900 metres.

Mullum Doc failed to take part in the pre race circle.

Race 7 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY GARY BARTON PACE     1660M

Music Moth withstood an early challenge for the lead.

Western Showgirl had a tendency to hang out in the latter stages of the score up.

Wonderwoman Jujon had a tendency to hang out in the latter stages of the score up. Issued a short unsuccessful challenge for the lead. Gained a one out one back trail entering the front straight with a lap to travel.

Mister Diamond raced three wide for the first 350 metres whilst being restrained to the rear of the field. Failed to gain a clear run to the finish – untested.

Aqua Cruiser worked forward three wide to take over the position leading the one wide line near the 1200 metres.

Rocknroll Max NZ broke free of interference near the 700 metres – placed on his last chance to race truly.

Race 8 – LADBROKES BET TICKER UP TO NR70 PACE         1660M

Back To Betoota utilised the sprint lane to win.

Kash Us Back placed back in the draw in mobile barrier races having satisfied QRIC requirements. 

Lanai commenced to gallop early in the score then continued to gallop until briefly resuming a pace near the 1300 metres. The gelding again commenced to gallop for a considerable distance failing to take any competitive part in the race. Having considered the gelding’s record Stewards ordered it placed right out of the drawn in mobile barrier races. The gelding will also be required to complete a satisfactory requalifying mobile barrier trial prior to be eligible to race in mobile barrier events. As well, Lanai is placed on its last chance to race truly due to his midrace break.  

Regulus failed to gain a clear run to the finish – untested. 

Race 9 – VALE PETER TONKIN PACE 1660M

Onlysbest surrendered the lead after 250 metres.

Franco Macho NZ worked forward to take over the lead after 250 metres. Surrendered the lead near the 1100 metres.

Ellis Street raced three wide early to work forward to the position outside the leader. The gelding then worked to the lead near the 1100 metres.

Teddy Feels Good was held up behind a tiring runner near the 400 metres losing considerable ground – finished well once clear.

Chappy Streetnorth raced wide for the first 500 metres whilst working forward o take over the position leading the one wide line. The gelding then commenced to give ground from the 450 metres ultimately being beaten in excess of 61 metres – no action taken due to the faster than average time for the class as well as the considerable margins between finishers.
