RACE 1 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 2100 metres

 

LITTLE ARCHIE – Held up for clear running until near the 100 metres.

BLACK ART NZ – Hung-out and broke gait leaving the 800 metres, for which a warning was issued. While galloping locked wheels with NINA SIMONE NZ.

FEELING HALL GOOD – Over-raced during the middle stages of the event.

TO THE LOOKOUT– Inconvenienced leaving the 800 metres when BLACK ART NZ broke gait.

PUNTERS DELIGHT– Pre-race swab sampled. Checked leaving the 800 metres when BLACK ART NZ broke gait.

NINA SIMONE NZ– Raced three wide from the start before working forward to lead the running line near the 1600 metres. Locked wheels with the galloping BLACK ART NZ leaving the 800 metres and was severely checked.

PROMISING– Pre-race swab sampled. Post-race swab sampled.

LA TOISON DOR – Had a tendency to over-race during the middle stages of the event.

 

RACE 2 – HILLTOPS EQUINE CENTRE PACE – 1720 metres

 

WEONA SIR VIVOR – Inconvenienced near the 400 metres when racing to the outside of RED ENVY NZ when that runner attempted to shift out.

LINCOLN SKIPPER NZ– Broke gait during the score-up and was out of position at the start, for which a warning was issued. Took no competitive part in the race.

HURRIKANE DUDE– Post-race swab sampled.

RED ENVY NZ– Attempted to shift wider near the 400 metres when racing to the inside of WEONA SIR VIVOR, as a result that runner was inconvenienced, Driver M Turnbull was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances in future. M Turnbull reported that the mare was contacting its own sulky wheel with its hind leg when rounding the turns at various stages throughout the race.

ULAANBAATAR– Pre-race swab sampled. Hung-in under pressure over the concluding stages.

GOLDEN ZARA – Held up for clear running until near the 100 metres.

 

RACE 3 – QUAYLE MILLING PACE – 2100 metres

 

MAMMALS PRINCE– Driver B Hewitt was fined $100 under Rule 162(1)(y) for failing to adhere to the minimum sectional time requirements for the first half of the last mile while leading.

WESTERN BILL– Pre-race swab sampled.

FLEETWOOD ROCK– Post-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 4 – SOUTHWEST SLOPES CREDIT UNION PACE – 1720 metres

 

OUR ENDLESS LOVE– Pre-race swab sampled. Hung-in away from SIX AGAIN leaving the 1600 metres and contacted marker pegs.

SHELDON ROCK– Pre-race swab sampled. Contacted the sulky wheel of NEPTUNES WARRIOR near the 1600 metres when that runner hung-in. Checked approaching the 1400 metres when SIX AGAIN broke gait.

SIX AGAIN – Hung-in near the 1600 metres. Broke gait free of interference approaching the 1400 metres, for which a warning was issued. Unable to obtain a clear run in the home straight.

NEPTUNES WARRIOR– Hung-in near the 1600 metres for which a warning was issued, as a result SHELDON ROCK contacted its sulky wheel. Inconvenienced approaching the 1400 metres when SIX AGAIN broke gait. Post-race swab sampled.

ONETWO THREECHEESE – Hung-out rounding the first turn. Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

CALA GRECA– Worked forward to take over the lead from ONETWO THREECHEESE near the 1400 metres.

KALYPSO KING – Hung-in approaching the first turn, contacted a marker peg and broke gait for which a warning was issued.

 

RACE 5 – TRIMECH PACE – 1720 metres

 

LIGHT UP BILLY – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

NIGHTWATCH STAR– Post-race swab sampled.

DYNAMITE DEE – Caught racing three wide from the start before being restrained to take up a position on the marker pegs at the rear of the field near the 1400 metres. Contacted the sulky wheel of TASHS MATE approaching the 600 metres, when that runner hung-in, and was checked and broke gait.

PRETTY REASON– Pre-race swab sampled. Raced roughly under pressure upon entering the home straight.

EASTBRO KATIE – Locked wheels with TASHS MATE leaving the 400 metres and was checked.

TASHS MATE – Hung-in approaching the 600 metres, as a result DYNAMITE DEE contacted its sulky wheel. Hung-in again leaving the 400 metres and locked wheels with EASTBRO KATIE, connections were advised the gelding would be placed on its last chance to race truly.

OUR SAMS HOME– Made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader near the 1200 metres. Driver N Turnbull was fined the sum of $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) for using his whip with an action that was more than a wrist only flicking motion in the home straight.

 

RACE 6 – THANK YOU TOBY BOURKE PACE – 1720 metres

 

CE PE THREE– Pre-race swab sampled.

HERE COMES BOBBY– Raced three wide from the start before being restrained to obtain a position with cover in the running line leaving the 1400 metres. Post-race swab sampled.

LUCKY LEIGH – Broke gait after the start for which a warning was issued.

 

RACE 7 – YOUNG SERVICES CLUB PACE – 1720 metres

 

JUST SMOKIN – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight.

DOUBLE MACH – Hung-out leaving the 1600 metres. Tightened for room when racing to the inside of MARVELLA leaving the 400 metres and contacted marker pegs.

CONROD KENZE – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it has had over 200 race starts, and cleared to start.

INDIANA ANGEL– Pre-race swab sampled. Broke gait free of interference approaching the 1400 metres, for which a warning was issued.

MARVELLA– Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader approaching the 1200 metres. Checked while racing three wide approaching the 1400 metres when INDIANA ANGEL broke gait. Post-race swab sampled.

FORANEYE– Broke gait free of interference near the 1200 metres, for which a warning was issued.

CULLENS FIELD – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

 

RACE 8 – SOUTHWEST TRACTORS MAIDEN PACE – 2100 metres

 

COURAGE OF LOMBO– Pre-race swab sampled.

THE BIG FEELGOOD– Hung-out and raced roughly approaching the first turn.

JOE POWELL NZ – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader approaching the 1600 metres.

TIGER TOMMY NZ– Post-race swab sampled.
