Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

 

RACE 1 GIPPSLAND PREMIUM QUARRIES 3YO MAIDEN PACE (1790 MS)

Still Playin NZ was a late scratching at 10am with Stewards Permission.

Ryan Sanderson replaced Jack Laugher as the driver of Leave Your Hat On.

Leave Your Hat On utilised the sprint lane in the home straight.

RACE 2 QUIRKS REAL ESTATE PACE (2210 MS)

A warning was issued against Oceanique which was out of position at the start.

Miradero raced roughly after the start and taking into consideration the recent form of the mare, she will now be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.

Tanabi Falcon utilised the sprint lane in the home straight.

RACE 3 – DROUIN SIGNS PACE (1790 MS)

Race start time amended to 1.55pm.

Vin Dan was a late scratching at 10am with Stewards Permission.

Illawong Jovial was held up for clear running approaching the final turn.

Priddy Easy hung in and contacted marker pegs on the final turn prior to utilising the sprint lane in the home straight.

RACE 4 – DOWNTOWNER PACE (2210 MS)

Race start time amended to 2.34pm.

Stanbyme pulled hard during the middle stages.

Rueslan hung in on the final turn and utilised the sprint lane in the home straight.

RACE 5 - FULL STEAM AHEAD TROTTERS HANDICAP (2210 SS)

Race start time amended to 3.12pm.

Ero Carpe Diem was fractious before the start and will continue to be placed outside of the draw in future stand start events.

Easy Pickings NZ broke gait when clear of interference on the first turn and trailed the field.  Taking into consideration the recent form, the gelding has now been stood down from racing until the completion of one satisfactory trial.

RACE 6 – ROD DEMMLER MEMORIAL PACE (1790 MS)

Kate Gath, driver of Super Seb was issued a caution for failing to have her runner adequately in position at the start.  The gelding also pulled hard during the middle stages.

My Superannuation gave ground from the 600m to be beaten 28m (last place).

Playa Blanca was held up for clear running on the final turn prior to utilising the sprint lane in the home straight.

Lanai hung out under pressure in the home straight.

RACE 7 – TOTAL SPAN PACE (2210 MS)

Im The Mightygramps was inconvenienced by Blazin Heaven NZ which tired from the 500m.

Given the margins established by the placegetters, no action was taken against Blazin Heaven NZ which tired to be beaten 59m.
