RACE 1 – KIDS DAY AT THE PACEWAY PACE – 1609 metres

COUNTRY GRAMMAR NZ – The driver J Enks was reprimanded AR 170(1)(a) for allowing his foot to drop below the sulky rest when activating gear during the middle stages.

TACKAS LAST DANCE– Raced in restricted room for some distance approaching the home turn. Driver S Glasby was cautioned for the manner in which he applied the whip over the concluding stages.

UNCLE GREGORY– A pre race blood sample was taken and a post race urine sample was obtained.

RACE 2 –THE TAB APP PACE – 1609 metres

LOUTHPARKSCHONNER – Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages.

WELL THATS ALRIGHT– Post race urine sample was obtained.

REDBANK OLIVIA– Pre race blood sample was taken.

CHRISTIAN SHANNON– When questioned in relation to the performance, driver T Ison explained that CHRISTIAN SHANNON over raced in the early stages and entering the back straight on the first occasion the gelding continued to race ungenerously behind WELL THATS ALRIGHT. He said at this time, to avoid making sulky contact with WELL THATS ALRIGHT, he took CHRISTIAN SHANNON wider on the track and then it took charge of him for a short distance and went forward until he could restrain it in a position outside the leader. He said that after this CHRISTIAN SHANNON travelled relatively well, however when placed under pressure inside the 400 metres could not improve and ran to the finish in a disappointing manner. He said that in his opinion this was due to the gelding’s tendency to over race in the early stages when it could not be restrained.

RACE 3 – RENEW YOUR CLUB MEMBERSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

NIGHT LIGHTS NZ – A post race swab sample was obtained.

STRAYTOTHEPOOLROOM- Pre race blood sample was taken.

RACE 4 – NUTRIEN EQUINE PACE – 1609 metres

ROSETTA SHANNON – Had to be checked and broke stride near the 1300 metres when racing behind RAMBUNCTIOUS.

STANDANDELIVER- A post race swab sample was obtained.

FAISELLE– A pre race blood sample was taken. When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted, driver T Ison explained that due to what he considered significant speed inside him at the gate he did not pressure FAISELLE in the early stages and it was his intention to find cover in a mid - field position. He said that after being unable to achieve this passing the winning post on the first occasion he was obliged to continually restrain and take up a position at the rear of the field. He said that after this, FAISELLE travelled well in the middle stages, however the leaders had established a considerable margin on the field during the time he spent obtaining cover. He stated that he placed FAISELLE under pressure passing the 400 metres and the mare responded well and competed strongly to the finish, however was unable to make significant ground on the first three placegetters. He added that FAISELLE was nominated to race at Newcastle 11/1/22 and if the mare’s recovery was satisfactory for her to fulfil that engagement and if it was drawn more favourably at the start, it would possibly be driven with more urgency in the early stages.

RAMBUNCTIOUS– Broke stride free of any external factors near the 1300 metres and galloped. Connections were advised that the gelding would be required to perform satisfactorily in an official qualifying trial before racing again.

PEGGY SUE SHANNON– Was hampered and had to be eased near the 1300 metres when racing behind ROSETTA SHANNON.

RACE 5 – HAZELLS FARM & FERTILIZER SERVICES PACE – 1609 metres

HAVEYOUMETDAISY – A post race urine sample was obtained.

UNSULLY - A pre race blood sample was taken. When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted and the performance, driver Mr S Glasby explained that despite his efforts during the score up UNSULLY could not maintain its position on the gate at the start and was further back than was intended. He said that after this he attempted to obtain cover in a midfield position, however he was unable to achieve this and was trapped wide and because of this he restrained to the rear of the field, then when racing in this position despite racing roughly on occasion, UNSULLY travelled relatively well in the middle stages. He said that after shifting into the running line in the back straight on the last occasion he placed UNSULLY under pressure and after gaining an initial strong response, the gelding weakened from the 300 metres in a three wide position and could not improve from that point. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality. Trainer Mr A Missen said that UNSULLY had only been in his care for a short while and he would now monitor the gelding’s recovery before making the decision on a future racing program, however if the recovery was satisfactory UNSULLY would be nominated to race at Tamworth on 21.7.22. Mr Missen was advised that a warning would be placed on UNSULLY’S racing record for being out of position at the start.

RACE 6 – RN3 HISTORIC FIRE ASSET RESTORATION GROUP PACE – 1609 metres

MISS MARAVU – Had to be checked near the 1300 metres, broke stride and galloped when crowded by SHANNONS SHADOW. Subsequently, J Chapple the driver of SHANNONS SHADOW, pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 163(1)(a)(iii), stating that passing the 1300 metres, he allowed SHANNONS SHADOW to shift in when insufficiently clear of MISS MARAVU, resulting in MISS MARAVU having to be checked, breaking stride and galloping. Taking into account all the circumstances, including J Chapple’s inexperience as a driver, his licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 14 days to commence on Tuesday the 12th of June and expire on 24th of July, on which day he may resume.

SIR MACADOR NZ– Was hampered passing the 1300 metres when racing behind MISS MARAVU.

SASSYS VC NZ- Pre race blood sample was taken.

ROCLEA IMAGE– A post race urine sample was obtained.

RACE 7 – HYGAIN STAR MAKER 3YO – 21ST JULY PACE – 1980 metres

RUNFROMTERROR – A post race urine sample was obtained.

BRIE– Was out of position at the start. Trainer / driver Mr D Chapple was fined $50 under AR 162(1)(j), for failing to maintain his position at the start.

WERENT WATCHINGNZ – Over raced in the early stages. Trainer Mr A Ison was fined $50 under AR 135(1), for failing to present WERENT WATCHING NZ into the enclosure by the prescribed time.

LADY SWISS– A pre race blood sample was taken.

RACE 8 – MULTIQUIP TRANSPORT PACE – 1609 metres

BASSEY– Trainer / driver Mr S Ison was fined $50 under AR 162(1)(j), for failing to maintain his position at the start, resulting in BASSEY being slow away. When questioned in relation to the performance Mr Ison explained that BASSEY failed to travel at any stage, hung out throughout and was unresponsive when placed under pressure inside the 400 metres. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormality.

TRALEE ROCKS- A pre race blood sample was taken and a post race urine sample was obtained.
