SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

 

TAMWORTH TRACK – 02 NOVEMBER 2022

Trainer/driver Mr T Ison was fined d$250 under AR 59(1)(7) for failing to wear an approved body protector whilst driving track work.

 

RACE 1 – TAB VENUE MODE MAIDEN PACE – 1609 metres

MANIC MIA– Crowded for a short distance and forced inside the marker pegs when entering the back straight on the first occasion when racing on the inside of MISS JIMMY which was racing greenly and shifted in.  Subsequently C Sutherland the trainer/driver of MISS JIMMY was reprimanded under AR 163(1)(a)(iii) for allowing the filly to shift in when insufficiently clear.

THE MOVEMENT– Hung out and raced roughly entering the back straight on the first occasion.  Trainer/driver D Chapple was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s record.

SWEET MEMORY– Pre-race blood sample was taken. 

BUCKLEDOWN CHRISSY– Broke stride free of any external factors during the score up, galloped and was out of position.  Connections were advised that the mare would now be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.

BARRYS BROTHER– Post-race swab sample was obtained.

 

RACE 2 – NUTRIEN EQUINE PACE – 1980 metres

SALS LAST BLAST– Held up in the home straight and unable to obtain clear running. 

IM FREYJA– Post-race swab sample was obtained.

FRAME DRIVE– When questioned in relation to the performance driver G Panella explained that after being caught wide in the early stages she was forced to cover excessive ground when attempting to drive forward.  She said that after obtaining a position outside the lead FRAME DRIVE did not travel well and passing the 600 metres became unresponsive and weakened noticeably.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.  Trainer A Missen was advised that a warning for poor performance would be placed on the gelding’s record.

DARK SIDE NZ – Pre-race blood sample was taken. 

MANHATTAN LASS– The near side knee boot dislodged shortly after the start.  Sustained a flat tyre at the entrance to the home straight after the sulky was contacted by NEVILLE SHANNON approaching the home turn.  Subsequently J Enks the driver of NEVILLE SHANNON was reprimanded under AR 168(1)(a) for failing to allow sufficient clearance when improving around MANHATTAN LASS approaching the home turn.

 

RACE 3 – TAMWORTH TREATED TIMBERS PACE – 1609 metres

DELIGHTFUL ANNA– Hung out rounding the turn after the start and broke stride and galloped.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s record.

LAKER– Hampered and forced wider rounding the turn after the start when racing outside DELIGHTFUL ANNA

SHES DO BRAVE– Hampered and forced to cover excessive ground rounding the turn after the start when racing outside LAKER. 

CAYMANGONE– Pulled hard during the early stages then raced roughly entering the home straight on the first occasion.  Trainer/driver Mr D Chapple was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s record.

FREDDIES DELIGHT– Could not be driven into position at the start and was slow away.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s record.

FAISELLE– Sustained a flat tyre shortly after entering the home straight after the sulky was contacted by MAC STUBBORN which was improving quickly and being shifted out to obtain clear running.  Subsequently A Varga the driver of MAC STUBBORN was reprimanded under AR 168(1)(a) for failing to allow sufficient clearance of FAISELLE when shifting out to improve.  Post-race swab sample was obtained.

MARLEY BROMAC– Pre-race blood sample was taken.  Broke stride after being hampered rounding the turn after the start and galloped.  Connections were advised that the provision of last chance to race truly would be placed on the mare’s record.

 

RACE 4 – MELLENIUM SIGNS PACE – 1980 metres

CRONIN– Pulled hard in the early and middle stages.

SIANGDI– Post-race swab sample was obtained.

MUDDY MONTANA– Pre-race blood sample was taken. Trainer/driver Mr D Mackney was fined $50 under AR 162(j) for failing to maintain his position at the start. 

YELLOW TAXI NZ– When questioned in relation to the performance driver B Hughes explained that after being caught wide in the early stages he was forced to restrain to the rear of the field.  He said that after doing this YELLOW TAXI NZ failed to travel at any stage and despite his constant urgings could not improve.  He said that passing the winning post with a lap remaining YELLOW TAXI NZ weakened noticeably.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.  Connections were advised that prior to racing again YELLOW TAXI NZ must perform competitively in an official qualifying trial.

TACKAS LAST DANCE– Pre-race blood sample was taken.  Could not be driven into position at the start and was slow away.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s record.

WARRAWEE FLYER– Hampered momentarily and shifted slightly wider rounding the home turn when crowded by IAM THE JOKER which shifted out to go forward.  Subsequently G Panella the driver of IAM THE JOKER was reprimanded under AR 163(1)(a)(iii) for allowing that gelding to shift out when insufficiently clear.

 

RACE 5 – JUDY & LAURIE JAMES AND FAMILY APPRECIATION PACE – 1980 metres

ROCKNROLL TONY– Driver S Ison was cautioned in relation to the manner that he applied the whip over the concluding stages.

OUR DICKIE BART– Pre-race blood sample was taken.  Post-race swab sample was obtained.

POCKET MORE FOR LESS NZ– Had to be checked and was unbalanced for a short distance passing the 1000 metres when racing behind ZACHAROONI.

ZACHAROONI– Had to be checked, broke stride, galloped and shifted out abruptly passing the 1000 metres when racing behind POWER TO BOLT which made contact with the sulky of CAESARS ROCKSTAR which was racing behind REDBANK OLIVIA after REDBANK OLIVIA improved around the field obtained a position in the running line and then was steadied.  Subsequently B Hughes the driver of REDBANK OLIVIA, was reprimanded under AR 162(1)(u), for easing the pace in a manner which had the potential to cause interference to other runners.

 

RACE 6 – LAURIE & JUDY JAMES DIAMOND WEDDING ANNIVERSARY PACE – 1609 metres

CHARMINDI – Pre-race blood sample was taken.

JOGALONG BLUE– Post-race swab sample was obtained.

BETTOR THAN MOST– Following required satisfactory performance, connections were advised that the gelding would now be eligible to take its place in the mobile barrier draw.  Raced roughly for a short distance approaching the back straight on the first occasion.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s record.

 

RACE 7 – NORTH WEST KERBING PACE – 1980 metres

FLIRTS DIVA– Pre-race blood sample was taken.

ROLAMAX– Post-race swab sample was obtained.

SPORTSCAM NZ– Following required satisfactory performance, connections were advised that the gelding would now be eligible to take its place in the mobile barrier draw.  Broke stride free of any external factors entering the back straight on the first occasion.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s record.

HIGHINAUCKLAND– Following required satisfactory performance, connections were advised that the mare would now be eligible to take its place in the mobile barrier draw. 

 

RACE 8 – PJ TRUMAN CONSTRUCTIONS PACE – 1609 metres

DOLLARSIGN– Momentarily unbalanced and raced roughly for a short distance inside the 300 metres after making slight contact with the sulky of TULHURST WRITER, when that runner shifted in marginally when DOLLARSIGN was improving.

MY KINDA JUSTUS– Post-race swab sample was obtained.

UNSULLY – Pre-race blood sample was taken. 

 

RACE 9 – HYGAIN SUPER ANTI-OX PACE – 1980 metres

THUNDAMENTAL– Pre-race blood sample was taken.

SKYFALL SEVENTEEN– Hung out inside the 400 metres and was difficult to drive.  Trainer Mr M Formosa undertook to restrict the gelding’s future racing to larger circuit tracks.

ROCKTAGONAL– Driver B Elder was fined $50 under AR 162(j) for restraining ROCKTAGONAL at the start resulting in the gelding being out of position.  Post-race swab sample was obtained.
