Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted.
RACE 1 – ALABAR 2YO VICBRED MAIDEN PACE (1690 MS)
Brett Bunfield, trainer of Barny Bill was issued a caution for presenting the gelding in gear which had not been correctly declared.
Roryville (David Moran) raced greenly during the latter stages of the score up. A warning was issued against the gelding’s barrier manners.
Roryville shifted outwards under pressure inside the final 200m.
RACE 2 – ALABAR 2YO VICBRED MAIDEN PACE (1690 MS)
Michael Watts, trainer of Sporty Philtra was issued a caution for presenting the filly in gear which had not been correctly declared which resulted in the start of the event being delaying two (2) minutes which stewards approved a murphy blind to be worn on the near side being added at the start.
Im Wesley (Chris Alford) raced greenly shortly after the start was effected and entering the first turn.
Otis Rising (Lisa Miles) hung inwards under pressure passing the 200m which inconveniencing Im Wesley.
Stewards inquired into the reasons for Misslola (Austin Mifsud) racing roughly momentarily entering the first turn when challenged by Roseanne Ruby (David Miles). After taking evidence from both drivers and viewing the available replays it was established that Misslola had a tendency to hang inwards entering the turn and when corrected by its driver shifted outwards marginally simultaneously as Roseanne Ruby hung inwards despite the drivers efforts and tighten the racing room of Misslola. A warning was issued against the racing manners of Roseanne Ruby. In not taking more action stewards were mindful of the inexperience racing manners of both runners.
RACE 3 – NEATLINE HOMES PACE (1690 MS)
The start of this event was delayed three (3) minutes due to a sulky wheel change required on Diamond Eclipse.
Heyjoshandco underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations under the HRV horse welfare policy due to the gelding having started in excess of 200 races. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities.
Kevin Jnr Weidenbach, driver of Rolling Remona was issued a caution for easing the pace approaching the 1400m once obtaining the position outside the leader which inconvenienced multiple runners which were trailing in the running line.
Mac Almighty NZ (James Herbertson) was held up around the final turn prior to obtaining clear running.
Hair Razor (Ross Graham) shifted outwards under pressure inside the final 200m inconveniencing Rolling Remona & Diamond Eclipse.
RACE 4 –ID22 SHEPPARTON 29/11/22 TROT (2190 MS)
Zesta La Go Go (Steve Owen) hung inwards after the start was effected contacting the offside sulky wheel of Startlight Storm (Damian Wilson) and raced roughly. Zesta La Go Go will now be placed on its last chance in the draw.
Startlight Storm yielded ground from the 600m to finish in 9th position beaten 52m. A warning was issued against the gelding racing competitiveness.
Lady Lil (Ellen Tormey) yielded ground from the 600m to finish in 10th and last position beaten 101m. Lady Lil will now be stood down from racing for a period of ten (10) days and trialling to the satisfaction of stewards on one (1) occasion. In taking this action stewards were mindful the mare was stood down two (2) starts prior for its poor racing competitiveness.
Luna (Greg Sugars) was held up in early stages of the home straight prior to obtaining clear running along the sprint lane.
RACE 5 -BOOK YOUR INTERDOMINION PACKAGES PACE (2190 MS)
Wendys Watching (Greg Sugars) & Miss Hattie (Brad Hewitt) locked wheels inside the final 100m.
RACE 6 – HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY STEPHEN BOYINGTON PACE (2190 MS)
Holi Starzzz (Greg Sugars) pulled hard during the middle stages of the event.
RACE 7 – NUTRIEN EQUINE TROT (2190 MS)
Sleepee (Chris Alford) pulled hard during the early & middle stages of the event.
Nephew Of Sonoko (James Herbertson) hung inwards approaching the 400m and broke gait clear of interference inconveniencing Sheza Pleasure (Nathan Jack).
Jack Laugher, driver of Zarem was issued a caution for applying the whip to the gelding outside the confines of the sulky.
RACE 8– HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY STEVEN DUFFY PACE (2190 MS)
Rebecca Bartley, driver of Western Sonador was issued a caution for contacting a marker peg when directing into the sprint lane.
Khaki Nui NZ raced roughly under pressure inside the final 50m.
RACE 9– BARASTOC 3YO PACE (2190 MS)
Kate Hargreaves, trainer of Extrinsic was fined the sum of $50 under AHR Rule 273(6)(b) for presenting the filly in gear which had not been correctly declared.
Stacey Towers, driver of Victortheinflictor was issued a caution for being out of position when the start was effected.
Extrinsic broke gait shortly after the start was effected. Extrinsic will now be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile start events.
Lavender Dolly (Greg Sugars) pulled hard throughout the event.
Victortheinflictor raced roughly approaching the 200m. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
RACE 10– ID22 SHEPPARTON 29/11/22 TROT (2190 MS)
Wisp of Smoke (Jack Mackinnon) raced roughly after the start was effected. Wisp of Smoke will now be placed on its last chance in the draw.
Firengrace (Stacey Towers) broke gait clear of interference approaching the 600m.
RACE 11– SADDLEWORLD SHEPPARTON VICBRED PACE (2190 MS)
Ferocious Son (Ellen Tormey) failed to gain clear running for the entire length of the home straight.
RACE 12– HUNTER RURAL MAIDEN PACE (1690 MS)
Olly Odd Potts (Cameron Maggs) & Up The Ante (Matt Newberry) both began badly as the start was effected. Olly Odd Potts & Up The Ante will now be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile start events.
