General

Stewards inquired into the performance and driving tactics adopted on Admiral Bronski (Trent Moffat) applying early pressure over the early stages of the event to obtain a leading position in the race contributing to an early lead time of 11.3 seconds and a first quarter of 26.9 Seconds. The gelding was able to successfully obtain a forward position then yielded ground over the concluding stages of the event finishing 31 metres from the winner. After taking evidence from driver Trent Moffat and trainer Ms T. Gillespie it was established that the Trainer had advised the driver the stable wanted the horse to lead todays event and felt the Gelding was one of the superior horses in todays event and would be able to lead and perform well today. Due to there being horses with gate speed drawn to the inside the horse had to race in a wide position for an extended period of time over the early stages of the event and with Streitkid (Narissa McMullen) racing to the Geldings outside to also obtain a forward position this had contributed to the quick early lead time and first quarter. The Connections were happy with todays performance and felt the Gelding will take benefit from the run. Stewards after obtaining initial evidence have adjourned the inquiry to a time and date to be fixed to allow the opportunity to review additional information.
