Race 2 – STU VALENTINE FOR BLOODSTOCK INSURANCE PACE            2040M

General: Matt Crone (Dollarbill) was questioned regarding the tactics in the first 800 m of the event where after an initial challenge for the lead in the front straight on the first occasion a further challenge was made near the 1400 m. Mr Crone advised that after the initial challenge he felt there may have been a further opportunity to get the lead from Brilliant Art due to the amount of work that that mare had done to hold the lead. He further advised that after the short challenge Dollarbill overraced and failed to settle. After consideration of the matter the explanation was noted.

Race 3 - MEMBERS DRAW WINNER MAVIS ADAMS PACE     1780M

Hurricane Dream (Alan Donohoe)– Broke gait on the turn into the back straight near the 1400 m. As a previous warning had been issued Hurricane Dream was stood down until it trials satisfactorily.

Champagne Reactor (Nathan Dawson)– Held up for a clear run to the finish. Stewards questioned Nathan Dawson as to why Champagne Reactor failed to use the sprint lane on entering the home straight. Mr Dawson stated that the gelding tended to lay out and got itself to the outside of the wheel of Valkyrie Hanover on the home and as the gelding wears a lugging pole he was unable to manoeuvre Champagne Rector back down the track. Stewards noted the explanation.
