RACE 1 – DRAG BINGO @ CLUB PACEWAY JUL 9 PACE – 1720 metres

IMFEELINGINT– Raced roughly when rounding the first turn.  Hung in and continued to race roughly throughout the event before commencing to tire passing the 600 metres to be beaten 70.9 metres.  In view of the gelding’s recent record IMFEELINGIT will now be required to perform one requalifying trial.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off side hind and acting on Veterinary advice was stood down until a veterinary clearance is submitted.

WAR CLUB– Post-race swab.

MINIMUM WAGE– Worked forward before finding the lead passing the 1450 metres.

CLEMENTSORRELL– A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

ULTIMATE AD– Pre-race blood test.  Checked between the 700 and 600 metres as a result of IMFEELINGIT racing roughly and commencing to tire.

GEE EF CEE– Pre-race blood test.  Driver Robert Morris was questioned in relation to the overall performance and seemingly below market expectation of the gelding having started $1.22 favourite and not running on in the home straight to be beaten 11.6 metres.  Mr Morris stated that he was following CLASSIC GRANGE which did not take him into the event and as a result had to improve three wide without cover earlier than he would have liked however he felt GEE EF CEE was disappointing over the concluding stages of the event and believes the gelding may race best when in front.  Stewards noted the comments of driver Robert Morris and no further action was taken.

RACE 2 – XMAS IN JULY @ PENRITH HRC JUL 14 PACE – 2125 metres

THE IRON LADY NZ– Pre-race blood test.  Post-race swab.

CAPTN ME– Caught wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to the tail of the field at approximately the 1700 metres.

TEAM OF STARZZZ– A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

FLYING CIRCLES NZ– Broke in the score up and locked wheels with HURRICANE STRIDE NZ resulting in a false start being declared.  In view of the gelding’s recent record a warning was issued to FLYING CIRCLES NZ.

CHANGE OF MIND– A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

RACE 3 – D J BRINX @ CLUB PACEWAY JUL 23 PACE – 1720 metres

LUKE JOHN NZ– Trainer/driver Jack Trainor was questioned in relation to his tactics adopted in tonight’s event and also the overall performance of LUKE JOHN NZ.  Of concern to the Stewards was that after being crossed in the early stages by POLKA DELIGHT NZ it seemed there was an opportunity for LUKE JOHN NZ to progress forward in front of PLEASE SHUDDUP NZ with the view of working to the front.  Also of concern to the Stewards was that Mr Trainor elected to follow POLKA DELIGHT NZ rounding the final turn before commencing a three wide run passing the 200 metres.  Mr Trainor believed in the early stages of the event after being crossed by POLKA DELIGHT NZ that the lead may not have been available to himself at this stage and did not want to be left exposed outside the leader if he was unsuccessful for the lead and therefore elected to remain on the fence in a trailing position.  It was noted that LUKE JOHN NZ did race on the fence line without runners to its outside and was able to make a clear run at any stage of the event.  Further Mr Trainor stated that he commenced a run to the outside of POLKA DELIGHT NZ at the 500 metres before that runner came out in advance of LUKE JOHN NZ giving him cover over the concluding stages.  Mr Trainor was of the opinion that while POLKA DELIGHT NZ was travelling well and taking him into the race there was no need for him to commence three wide on the track given that LUKE JOHN NZ has had a tendency to break gait when racing wide at Penrith.  Mr Trainor felt that he had eased to the outside of POLKA DELIGHT NZ and given himself ample opportunity to run that mare down but was unable to do so he felt that he had every chance to do so and was disappointed in the run of LUKE JOHN NZ.  Stewards noted the comments of Mr Trainor and no further action was taken.

CONTROVERSIAL NZ– A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

MINI MINE YET NZ– Pre-race blood test.

POLKA DELIGHT NZ– Pre-race blood test.  Post-race swab.

PLEASE SHUDDUP NZ– Worked forward before finding the lead passing the 1100 metres.

BRACKEN KNIGHT– Pre-race blood test.

JAY BRACKEN– Passing the 200 metres had his near side sulky wheel contacted as a result of MAJOR JAROD hanging up the track.

BETTOR TO BE TRICKY NZ– A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

MAJOR JAROD– Pre-race blood test.  Passing the 200 metres hung out and contacted the sulky of JAY BRACKEN resulting in the gelding racing roughly.  At the request of the trainer Stephen Farrugia MAJOR JAROD will now be re-included into the mobile barrier draw.
