RACE 1 – ACCESS GROUP SOLUTIONS TROTTERS MOBILE – 1609 metres

FLORENCITA– Post-race swab sample.

YOUNG SON– Slow to begin. Hung in under pressure inside the final 400m.

DREAM INCEPTION– Jack Brown, driver of DREAM INCEPTION, was reminded of his obligations to ensure the pre-race warm up is completed in a timely manner so as not to delay the start.

LAW LEGEND– Pre-race blood sample.

DOWN UNDER RORS- Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination due to the gelding having started in more than 200 races. Neither examination revealed any significant findings.

KYVALLEY BOOMERANG– Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination due to the gelding having started in more than 200 races. Neither examination revealed any significant findings. Over raced during the middle stages.

THEBESTBOURBON– Pre –race blood sample. Re-included in the mobile barrier draw. 

 

RACE 2 – PRYDE’S EASIFEED PACE – 1609 metres

CALL ME GRINGO– Slow to begin.

RUM DELIGHT NZ– Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination which revealed no significant abnormalities due to the gelding having started in more than 200 races.

MY ULTIMATE CARTER– Trainer Jarrod Alchin was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to have a gear form lodged for the colt.

SHARK DANCER– Pre-race blood sample. Sebastian Piltz, driver of SHARK DANCER, was found guilty of a charge under Rule 156(2)(a) in that inside the final 400 metres he applied the whip to the gelding with more than a wrist only flicking motion. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account Mr Piltz’s offence record which indicated one relevant recent offence. Stewards accordingly imposed a fine of $400.

MONTEFIORE NZ– Pre-race blood sample. Paced roughly during the score up and was out of position at the start, further paced roughly shortly after the start prior to hanging in under pressure passing the 400 metres and pacing roughly. In view of the gelding’s recent record, Trainer Mary Rando was advised that MONTEFIORE NZ would now be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events and also be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of Stewards.

MORRIS BROWN– Post-race swab sample.

SHEZA ROSE NZ– Held up rounding the home turn in the early stage of the straight and was inconvenienced passing the 300m when tightened by MONTEFIORE NZ which shifted in. SHEZA ROSE NZ will be re-included in the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 3 – APG TV TROTTERS MOBILE – 1609 metres

LEOTARDANDLACE– Broke passing the 1200m and broke under pressure passing the 50m. Post-race veterinary examination of LEOTARDANDLACE revealed the mare to have sustained lacerations to the heel region of both forelegs. In view of the veterinary findings, LEOTARDANDLACE will be stood down from racing for a period of 7 days and the mare will now be placed on its last chance to race truly.

ROYAL GLENFERRIE– Pre-race blood sample. Paced during the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was issued. Lucas Rando, driver of ROYAL GLENFERRIE, pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 154(1) in that from the start of the event to the conclusion of the event he failed to make sufficient effort to return ROYAL GLENFERRIE to the correct gait. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account Mr Rando’s guilty plea, his relative inexperience and that this occurrence had no bearing on the final positions as ROYAL GLENFERRIE finished in last place. Stewards accordingly imposed a 10 day suspension of Mr Rando’s licence to drive in races which was ordered to commence midnight 26 November 2022.

SOBOMBA– Broke approaching the 1200m. In view of the gelding’s recent record, Trainer Mary Rando was advised SOBOMBA must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.

DUBLIN CHUBB– Pre-race blood sample. Post-race sample.

REVY JAY– Broke during the score up, was out of position at the start and will continue to be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events.

FLASH KYVALLEY– Re-included in the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 4 – IRT PACE – 1609 metres

OPERATIVE ANNA– Pre-race blood sample. Galloped out for which a warning was issued.

CROWN MOJO– Over raced during the middle stages.

KENNY SAID– Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 5 – WARDS ACCOUNTING GROUP PACE – 1609 metres

STELLAS DELIGHT NZ– Pre-race blood sample.

EXPLOSIVE BRONSKI– Hung in under pressure at the 300m.

HURRICANE STRIDE NZ– Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination due to the gelding having started in more than 200 races. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormality.

OKAY GRINGO– Pre-race blood sample.

BETTOR BE LUCKY– Held up during the early part of the straight.

IM BILLS LAST NZ– Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 6 – BUY & SELL WITH MCLAREN REAL ESTATE PACE – 1609 metres

The all clear of this event was delayed to allow Stewards the opportunity to review the start of the event in relation to DONEDEAL and OUR REACTOR being out of position at the start. Upon review, Stewards were satisfied this occurrence had no material effect on the finishing positions of DONEDEAL and OUR REACTOR and the all clear was given.

SUNSHINE KARAMEA– Paced roughly prior to tiring over the concluding stages to finish in last placing beaten 106m. Post-race veterinary examination of SUNSHINE KARAMEA failed to reveal any significant findings. Anthony Bucca, trainer of SUNSHINE KARAMEA, was advised the gelding will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of Stewards.

DONEDEAL– Tired over the concluding stages to finish in 8th placing beaten 98m. Post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near foreleg and will now be stood down from racing until a veterinary clearance is provided. Given the beaten margin, DONEDEAL will also to be required to trial on 1 occasion.

SIR SIMON– Pre-race blood sample.

TIMELY SOVEREIGN– A false start was declared on the first occasion when TIMELY SOVEREIGN scored up in the incorrect barrier position resulting in INCOGNITO being unable to fulfil its allotted barrier. Cameron Hart, driver of TIMELY SOVEREIGN, was subsequently fined $200 under Rule 162(1)(e) for coming to the barrier out of position.

WAVETHEBILL NZ– Pre-race blood sample. Trainer Kerryann Morris was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to have a gear form lodged for the gelding. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 7 – WHAT THE HILL – THE FUTURE OF TROTTING LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

A false start was declared when MINI MINE YET NZ and GIRLS ARE BEST NZ came to the barrier out of position resulting in GIRLS ARE BEST NZ being unable to fulfil its allotted position.

MINI MINE YET NZ– Bryson Grima, driver of MINI MINE YET NZ, was fined $100 under 162(1)(e) for coming to the barrier out of position which contributed to a false start being declared. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account Mr Grima’s relative inexperience and the contribution of GIRLS ARE BEST NZ coming to the barrier out of position. Inconvenienced passing the 300 metres when GIRLS ARE BEST NZ broke.

GIRLS ARE BEST NZ– Pre-race blood sample. Ashleigh Delosa, driver of GIRLS ARE BEST NZ, was fined $100 under 162(1)(e) for coming to the barrier out of position which contributed to a false start being declared. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account Ms Delosa’s relative inexperience and that this offence was contributed to by MINI MINE YET NZ coming to the barrier out of position. GIRLS ARE BEST NZ broke clear of interference passing the 300m. Post-race veterinary examination of GIRLS ARE BEST NZ revealed the mare to have sustained a laceration to the near foreleg and the off fore heel region requiring further veterinary treatment. GIRLS ARE BEST NZ will now be stood down from racing until a veterinary clearance is provided. A warning was issued for GIRLS ARE BEST NZ breaking gait at the 300 metres.

KEILOR BABY SHARK– Post-race swab sample.

RED TRIX– Re-included in the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 8 – PACE – ALLIED EXPRESS APP PACE - 1609 metres

PARALLEL– Inconvenienced approaching the 50m when GORDONS BAY shifted in away from OUTSIDE FIGHTER, resulting in PARALLEL contacting marker pegs.

CUT GLASS NZ– Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stage of the straight.

OUTSIDE FIGHTER– Pre-race blood sample. Held up rounding the home turn and the early stage of the home straight.

ATOMICSTAR– Over raced during the middle stages. Post-race swab sample.

MISTER COLE– Pre-race blood sample.

GORDONS BAY– Taylah Osmond, driver of GORDONS BAY ($2.90), was questioned regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of the gelding which finished in 10th placing beaten 16m. Ms Osmond explained that GORDONS BAY travelled well throughout the event, however proved most disappointing inside the final 200m. Post-race veterinary examination of GORDONS BAY failed to reveal any significant findings. Connections undertook to report back any findings which may come to light in the coming days to further explain the performance.

 

SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT – PENRITH 17TH NOVEMBER 2022

Stewards today concluded an inquiry into a body protector found to be in the possession of HRNSW licensed person Blake Fitzpatrick at the Penrith Race meeting on Thursday 17th November 2022. Blake Fitzpatrick was issued with a charge under AHRR 159A(8), The particulars being that after the running of Race 6, Blake Fitzpatrick had his VIPA two body protector inspected by HRNSW Stewards. Upon inspection, it was found that the body protector had been modified in manner that saw the majority of the protective padding being removed. Blake Fitzpatrick entered a guilty plea. In assessing the matter of penalty, consideration was given to B Fitzpatrick’s offence record under AHHR 159A(7) and 159A(8) which illustrated that he had multiple previous offences recorded pursuant to these Rules. In addition, Stewards deemed the offence to be intentional. Blake Fitzpatrick had his license to drive suspended for a period of 28 days. Blake Fitzpatrick was advised of his appeal rights.
