RACE 1 – ALLIED EXPRESS TAXI TRUCK SERVICES PACE – 2300 metres

BUNDORAN NZ– Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 150 metres.

ALTA ORLANDO NZ– Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.

PETES SAID SO NZ– Pre-race blood sample.  Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

RACE 2 – NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE 4YO ENTIRES AND GELDINGS QUALIFYING HEAT 1 – 1609 metres

BETTOR ISOLATE– Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample. 

HY VOLTAGE– Pre-race blood sample.  Hung in under pressure in the home straight.

LETS GET ROCKIN– Caught racing three wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 700 metres.

GORDONS BAY– Stewards questioned driver James Rattray with regards to the gelding being out of position at the start.  Mr Rattray explained that he was delayed leaving the pre-race circle due to OLEG which had drawn on the front line forward of him being late to progress forward and as his gelding can do things wrong during the score up he elected not to drive it too hard in an attempt to catch the mobile.  After considering the explanation provided by Mr Rattray Stewards determined to take no further action other than to remind Mr Rattray of his obligations at the start.

RACE 3 – NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE 4YO ENTIRES AND GELDINGS QUALIFYING HEAT 2 – 1609 metres

BRAEDOS LAD– Post-race swab sample.

KASHED UP– Pre-race blood sample. 

THE POOBAH– Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to a position in the running line passing the 1200 metres. 

HEZ DUSTY– Pre-race blood sample. 

RACE 4 – NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE 3YO C&G SEMI FINAL 1 – 1609 metres

POCKET LINE– Hung in under pressure and commenced to give ground passing the 450 metres inconveniencing TAYLAHS ACE, FOUR STAR LINCOLN and SHOUDA PASSED.  A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  Stewards questioned driver Blake Jones with regards to the gelding who advised that he believed the gelding was racing way up in class this evening.  After considering the performance of the gelding, in addition to the explanation provided by Mr Jones, a warning was issued.

TAYLAHS ACE– Inconvenienced passing the 400 metres when POCKET LINE commenced to give ground.

SAINT CRUSADER– Driver Grace Panella pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 156(2)(a), in that she applied the whip to the colt in the home straight in a manner which was considered not to be a wrist only flicking motion.  After considering the recent record of Miss Panella, she was fined $200.

ALLSTARZZZ FRANKIE– Momentarily tightened passing the 100 metres when MAHOMES hung in under pressure.

BLACK ONYX– Pre-race blood sample.  Caught racing three wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1200 metres.  Trainer Kerry McDowell advised Stewards immediately upon the completion of the event that she wished to review the films with regards to BLACK ONYX being placed in restricted room to the outside of TEDDY DISCO which had shifted out under pressure and to the inside of MAHOMES which had hung in under pressure over the concluding stages of the event. After viewing the films Lleyton Green the driver of BLACK ONYX determined not to exercise the right to lodge a protest against either runner and the All Clear was given on the judge’s numbers of 9-12-8-7.

MAHOMES– Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1200 metres.  Hung in under pressure tightening ALLSTARZZZ FRANKIE passing the 100 metres.  Continued to hang in under pressure over the concluding stages of the event and placed BLACK ONYX in restricted room to the outside of TEDDYDISCO which was also shifting out under pressure.  After considering the recent record of MAHOMES, a warning was issued.  Post-race swab sample. 

FOUR STAR LINCOLN– Inconvenienced passing the 400 metres when POCKET LINE commenced to lose ground.

SHOULDA PASSED– Inconvenienced passing the 400 metres when POCKET LINE commenced to give ground.

TEDDY DISCO– Pre-race blood sample.  Improved three wide from the 1100 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 800 metres.  Shifted out under pressure in the home straight placing BLACK ONYX which was racing to its outside in restricted room to the inside of MAHOMES which was also hanging in under pressure. After considering the recent record of the gelding, a warning was issued.

RACE 5 – NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE 3YO C&G SEMI FINAL 2 – 1609 metres

SAINT VERAN– Placed in restricted room between the 200 metres and the 75 metres when KING TIGER shifted in under pressure.

MY ULTIMATE RONNIE– Pre-race blood sample.

JAWSOFLINCOLN– Broke the one legged spreader which was affixed to the off side fore leg colt soon after the start and dangled around the front legs of the colt for the remainder of the event and was unable to be fully tested by Blake Fitzpatrick.

LEAP TO FAME– Pre-race blood sample.  Caught racing three wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 900 metres.  Post-race swab sample. 

KING TIGER– Shifted in under pressure between the 200 metres and the 50 metres placing SAINT VERAN which was racing to its inside in restricted room.

RACE 6 – CLUB MENANGLE FIRTH STAKES (GROUP 2) – 1609 metres

BE MY ROSE NZ– Pre-race blood sample.

BRAEVIEW KELLY NZ– Worked forward to the lead passing the 1000 metres.  Post-race swab sample. 

TOWN ECHO NZ– Pre-race blood sample.  Driver Jack Callaghan was found guilty of a charge under Rule 156(7) for using the whip outside the confines of the sulky passing the 400 metres.  After considering the recent record of Mr Callaghan, he was fined $200.

RACE 7 – NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE 3YO FILLIES SEMI FINAL 1 – 1609 metres

STENO– Worked forward to the lead passing the 1100 metres.  Post-race swab sample. 

CAPTN ME– Pre-race blood sample.  Worked forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres.

PAS DE CHEVAL– Pre-race blood sample.

WHEREYABINTWISTIN– Hung in and contacted marker pegs approaching the 350 metres.

RACE 8 – NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE 3YO FILLIES SEMI FINAL 2 – 1609 metres

SILK CLOUD– Pre-race blood sample.  Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.

MADRID– Post-race swab sample. 

BEAUTY PLAY– Placed in restricted room and locked wheels with MISS EX passing the 200 metres and was checked as a result of SPOONTHEMOON being shifted wider on the track looking to obtain clear running.

LEXIE GIRL– Inconvenienced passing the 200 metres when SPOONTHEMOON was checked and broke stride.

MISS EX– Pre-race blood sample.  Locked wheels with BEAUTY PLAY and was checked passing the 200 metres when SPOONTHEMOON was shifted wider on the track looking to obtain clear running placing BEAUTY PLAY in restricted room.

SPOONTHEMOON– Momentarily tightened upon entry to the first turn when IDEAL INDREAMS which was racing wide looked to be shifted down the track to a position in the running line.  Driver Jackson Painting pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that approaching the 200 metres he commenced to shift his runner wider on the track looking to obtain clear running placing BEAUTY PLAY which was racing to his outside in restricted room to the inside of MISS EX causing those two runners to lock wheels and be checked and when their wheels become disengaged SPOONTHEMOON was checked and broke stride, further checking LONDON LEGS and inconveniencing LEXIE GIRL.  After considering the recent record of Mr Painting, his licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of seven days.

IDEAL IN DREAMS– Driver Jack Callaghan was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that when caught racing three wide upon entry to the first turn he commenced to restrain his gelding and momentarily shift that runner down the track looking to obtain a position in the running line forward of SPOONTHEMOON causing that runner to be checked away from his wheel.

LONDON LEGS– Checked passing the 200 metres when SPOONTHEMOON broke stride.

RACE 9 – BEST IN BEDS WARRAWONG PACE – 2300 metres

LOYALIST NZ– Driver Seaton Grima was fined $100 under Rule 162(1)(i) for failing to have the gelding in position at the nominated marker.  Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.  After considering the recent record of the gelding, it was given its last chance to race truly.

GO JACK RYAN NZ– Over raced and raced roughly approaching the 400 metres.  Driver Lleyton Green was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that passing the 300 metres he permitted his runner to shift up the track when not sufficiently clear of OLD LUKE NZ causing that runner to momentarily lock wheels with WESTERN STYLE.  Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 200 metres.

TRIPLE FOUR NZ– Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample. 

WESTERN STYLE– Pre-race blood sample.  Momentarily locked wheels with OLD LUKE NZ passing the 300 metres as a result of GO JACK RYAN NZ being permitted to shift up the track.

SOHO SINATRA– Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

OLD LUKE NZ– Locked wheels momentarily with WESTERN STYLE passing the 300 metres when GO JACK RYAN NZ was permitted to shift up the track.

RACE 10 – MCWICKED JOINS COBBITTY EQUINE TROTTERS DISCRETIONARY HANDICAP – 2300 metres

KYVALLEY BOOMERANG– Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts.  The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  A false start was declared on the first occasion when the starting strand wrapped around the fore leg of the gelding upon release.

VIKSUN – Pre-race blood sample. 

PHOEE ONYX NZ– Worked forward to the lead passing the 1800 metres before surrendering to SIR FAHRENHEIT NZ.  Again worked forward to the lead passing the 1400 metre.

LOTAMUSCLE NZ– Post-race swab sample. 

WATTS UP MAJESTIC– Improved three wide from the 1500 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 1300 metres.

SIR FAHRENHEIT NZ– Worked forward to the lead passing the 1700 metres.

SUNNY GEE– Pre-race blood sample.
