RACE 1 – ALLIED EXPRESS PACE – 1609 metres

SURFERS DELIGHT NZ– Pre-race blood sample.  Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

THE CHOREOGRAPHER– Trainer Kerryann Morris was fined $100 for the late notification of Joshua Gallagher as the driver for the gelding. Stewards opened an inquiry into the reasons for THE CHOREOGRAPHER being checked and breaking stride over the concluding stages.  After taking evidence from Robert Morris the driver of SURFERS DELIGHT NZ, Joshua Gallagher the driver of THE CHOREOGRAPHER and Darren Binskin the driver of UNCLE JAY it was established that approaching the 50 metres Robert Morris commenced to move his runner up the track looking to obtain clear running before soon after straightening his runner when no such run was available and as a result UNCLE JAY commenced to hang out away from the wheel of SURFERS DELIGHT NZ raced inside the line of THE CHOREOGRAPHER causing that runner to contact the off side sulky wheel of UNCLE JAY and be checked and break stride.  After considerations Stewards determined to take no further action other than to report the incident. 

UNCLE JAY– Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 200 metres.  Hung out under pressure over the concluding stages causing THECHOREOGRAPHER to contact the off side sulky wheel of UNCLE JAY and be checked and break stride.

ITZ MONTANA JET NZ– Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample. 

RACE 2 – BEST IN BEDS PACE – 1609 metres

FOCUS STRIDE– Pre-race blood sample.  Shifted out under pressure.  Post-race swab sample. 

ALWAYS ROCKIN– Pre-race blood sample.  Back in mobile barrier draw.

RACE 3 – TG HODGE & RW HOLDEN BACK AT THE TRACK PACE – 2300 metres

ALPINE STRIDE– Pre-race blood sample.  Stewards questioned driver Joshua Gallagher with regards to the performance of the gelding which tired over the concluding stages of the event to finish in eighth placing beaten 42 metres.  Mr Gallagher advised Stewards that he was disappointed with the performance of the gelding this evening however he explained that he had to do a bit of work out of the gate to hold the lead from the challenge of ATOMIC RED and once surrendering to WOLF STRIDE the pace of the event never slackened.  A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  Stewards further questioned trainer Darren Binskin, who drove the runner forward of ALPINE STRIDE, with regards to the performance of the gelding who advised that in his opinion the gelding did not appear to be breathing correctly throughout the event and as a result he would look to have ALPINE STRIDE scoped in the coming days.  After considering the explanations of Mr Gallagher and Mr Binskin Stewards determined to note their comments, however would follow up the result of the scope with Mr Binskin once available.

HES CHIMING– Hung out after the start.  Driver Sofia Arvidsson was reprimanded under Rule 170(1)(a) for dropping her right foot from the sulky soon after the start.  Hung in at various times throughout the event.  Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.

LOORRIM CREEK– Pre-race blood sample.

WOLF STRIDE– Worked forward to the lead passing the 1700 metres.  Post-race swab sample. 

RACE 4 – BETAVET PACE – 2300 metres

FOREVER YIN– Broke stride during the latter stages of the score up and as a result was out of position at the start.  After considering the recent record of the gelding a warning was issued.

NERANO NZ– Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample. 

WOW HES A ROCKSTAR NZ– Stewards questioned Blake Fitzpatrick with regards to the performance of the gelding which finished in eighth placing beaten 23 metres.  Mr Fitzpatrick advised Stewards that in his opinion the gelding resented being pushed wider on the track by FOREVER YIN in the home straight and as a result half gave up.  Mr Fitzpatrick further advised that he would look to take short cuts rather than coming wider on the gelding in the future as WOW HES A ROCKSTAR NZ appears to race better when driven in that fashion.  A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  After considering the explanation provided by Mr Fitzpatrick Stewards determined to note his comments.

FAZE OF GLORY NZ– Worked forward to the lead passing the 1950 metres.

ROCK OF DELIGHT– Pre-race blood sample.

RACE 5 – AUSTRALIAN PACING GOLD PACE – 1609 metres

SUMMIT SPECIAL– Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.  Driver Blake Fitzpatrick pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that over the concluding stages of the event he commenced to shift his runner wider on the track when not sufficiently clear of ARDEN MESSI NZ which placed that runner in restricted room to the inside of MIGHTY FLYING DEAL NZ causing it to be checked.  After considering the recent record of Mr Fitzpatrick in addition to the minor nature of the interference the licence of Mr Fitzpatrick was suspended for a period of seven days.

GOLDEN YEAR– Pre-race blood sample.

SCOOB OPERATOR NZ– Broke stride during the score up.  After considering the recent record of the gelding a warning was issued.  Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

ARDEN MESSI NZ– Placed in restricted room over the concluding stages and checked when SUMMIT SPECIAL shifted wider on the track looking for clear racing room.

PETES SAID SO NZ– Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample. 

ZIGGY ROCKS– Trainer Kerryann Morris was fined $100 for the late notification of herself as the driver for the gelding.

RACE 6 – CLUB MENANGLE BABY BLING LADYSHIP STAKES (GROUP 3) – 1609 metres

DELIGHTFUL JAZZ– Pre-race blood sample.

BE MY ROSE NZ– Pre-race blood sample.

WAINUI CREEK NZ– Post-race swab sample. 

RACE 7 – MCWICKED AT COBBITTY EQUINE PACE – 1609 metres

DOUBTLESS BAY NZ– Post-race swab sample. 

LOMBO HEAVEN– Pre-race blood sample.

CAMANCHI WARRIOR– Pre-race blood sample.

RACE 8 – AGT SLOTS TROTTERS DISCRETIONARY HANDICAP – 2300 metres

ROYAL GLENFERRIE– Paced and broke after the start.  After considering the recent record of the horse it was placed outside the standing start draw.

ALDEBARAN URSULA– Trainer Kerryann Morris was fined $100 for the late notification of Joshua Gallagher as the driver for the mare. Pre-race blood sample.  Worked forward to the lead passing the 1900 metres.

SUNNY GEE– Post-race swab sample. 

REVY JAY– Paced after the start and took no competitive part in the event.  After considering the recent record of the mare it was placed right outside the standing start draw.

ONE MAJIC KENNY NZ– Pre-race blood sample.  Broke after the start.  After considering the recent record of the gelding it will continue to be placed right outside the standing start draw.

 

SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

RACE 3 – TW HODGE & RW HOLDEN BACK AT THE TRACK PACE – 1609 metres

ALPINE STRIDE– Trainer Darren Binskin reported to Stewards that ALPINE STRIDE had been examined at Menangle Park Training Centre on 20 July 2022 by Dr Christine Smith who has commenced treatment for cellulitis of the left front limb. Given the horse requires treatment with penicillin, ALPINE STRIDE will not be racing for at least 4 – 5 weeks. An endoscopy examination will be performed at Agnes Bank Equine Centre prior to the horse racing again.
