MONTEFIORE NZ– Raced roughly shortly after the start for which a warning was issued its last chance in the mobile barrier draw. Hampered on entry to the home straight when being taken slightly wider by BETTOR BE LUCKY which had hung out to it inside. Hung in and paced roughly leaving the 70 metres and as a result a warning was issued. Had its off side sulky tyre contacted leaving the 50 metres when SWEET PARIS NZ had improved onto the back of that runner after MONTEFIORE NZ had paced roughly and lost some momentum at this stage. At the request of trainer J Rando, stewards delayed the all clear of this event as he wished to view the run to the finish in relation to the shift from BETTOR BE LUCKY in the home straight on the final occasion. After viewing the films trainer J Rando did not lodge an objection and as stewards were satisfied that although BETTOR BE LUCKY had originally shifted up the track MONTEFIORENZ had also hung in and not paced genuinely throughout the home straight and therefore the all clear was given on the judges numbers of 10, 3, 6 and 2.
