Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
All engaged drivers at today’s meeting were subjected to rapid antigen tests being supervised by the Stewards prior to fulfilling their drives.
As part of the RWWA Compliance Assurance Activities a number of drivers were randomly selected to be subjected to urine drug testing which will be analysed for the presence of banned substances.
Mudguards and splash sheets were used on sulkies at today’s meeting.
RACE 1 – BENDIGO BANK PINJARRA FILLIES & MARES MAIDEN PACE (2185MS)
ISSUES (E. Suvaljko) and HOT CINDER (G. Schofield) brushed sulky wheels at the start. It was established that the mobile barrier arm was not in its true position during the score-up and runners were having difficulty following their numbers. The Starter and Mobile Driver were made aware of the situation.
RACE 2 – BWC CIVIL 3YO DIV.2 PACE (2185MS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 3 – BENDIGO BANK HOME LOANS 3YO DIV.1 PACE (2185MS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 4 – TABTOUCH PACE (2185MS)
The rain affected track rating was removed as with no rain the track had dried considerably.
RENAISSANCE ART (M. Miller) – Underwent a pre-race Veterinary examination and was passed fit to race as the gelding had previously raced Central Wheatbelt on 19 June 2022. Started from Barrier 7 as was excluded from the draw at Central Wheatbelt when it had broke gait shortly after the start.
RACE 5 – AUTO ONE PINJARRA 4YO+ PACE (1684MS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 6 – BENDIGO BANK YOUR LOCAL BANK @ PINJARRA PACE (2185MS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 7 – MITRE 10 PINJARRA PACE (2185MS)
HOPPYS WAY NZ (S. Suvaljko) – Utilised the sprint lane to win the race.
RACE 8 – BENDIGO BANK SUPPORTING THE COMMUNITY IN PINJARRA 2YO PACE (2185MS)
This race was abandoned when LOW FLYIN (M. Ferguson) veered up the track entering the front straight on the first occasion and fell to the ground and was unable to be moved off the track. Reinsperson M. Ferguson reported the gelding had choked down. LOW FLYIN sustained minor abrasions in the fall however will be stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until such time as the completion of 1 satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
RACE 9 –DUNLOP ELECTRICAL TROT (2116SS)
LUCKY CHARM (D. Roberts) – Broke gait shortly after the start. Will be placed outside the draw in future standing start events.

RACE 3 – SIMMONDS STEEL INDUSTRIAL & MINING FABRICATION PACE (2130MS)
Trainer Mr L Harper advised that he was disappointed with the performance of MIDDLEPAGE and that the gelding was found to have a viral infection following the race for which it was now undergoing treatment.
