Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
All engaged drivers at today’s meeting were subjected to rapid antigen tests being supervised by the Stewards prior to fulfilling their drives.
All drivers underwent a breath test to detect for the presence of alcohol prior to their drives.
RACE 1 – TUCKEYS MITRE 10 PINJARRA TROT (2185MS)
POSSEIDON (S. Suvaljko) – broke gait racing in the back straight on the final occasion and again racing towards the front straight on the final occasion. Trainer J. Ellis advised he will consider some gear alterations for future racing. Stood down for 6 days and until such time as the completion of 1 re-qualifying trial.
RACE 2 – REGENCY GOODS 2YO WESTBRED PACE (2185MS)
IMA AUSSIE ARTIST (R. Warwick) – trainers representative Mr R. Warwick was advised of a $50 fine for presenting the colt not wearing the gear approved by Stewards.
TELKEM (E. Suvaljko) – after racing in the lead of the one wide line, began to give ground from the vicinity of the 400m to be beaten 106m. Mr Elson advised he will make some gear alterations prior to the accepting for a future race. A warning was placed on the race performance.
General: Driver G. Hall Jnr was shown a section of Stewards vision when racing towards the home straight on the final occasion he has permitted his drive to shift inwards momentarily tightening the racing room of IMA AUSSIE ARTIST (R. Warwick). Mr Hall was advised to provide greater room to inside runners in future events.
RACE 3 – INFINITI GROUP FILLIES & MARES PACE (2185MS)
NEVER FORGET ADDA (M. Young) – broke gait in the score up. Began to give ground from the vicinity of the 400m to be beaten 94m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
General: Driver W. Price was shown a section of Stewards vision when racing into the home straight on the final occasion. Mr Price was reminded of his obligations to only enter the sprint lane in an attempt to pass another runner or improve his position.
RACE 4 – TYREPOWER PINJARRA PACE (2185MS)
IM RIDDLER (G. Johnson) – driver G. Johnson was fined $200 under the provisions of rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip in more than a wrist only flicking motion.
CHERRY ON THE CAKE (B. Chabros) – broke gait racing out of the back straight on the final occasion. Stood down from racing for 6 days and until such time as the completion of 1 re-qualifying trial.
RACE 5 – PINJARRA TRADERS PACE (1684MS)
General: This race commenced approximately 2 minutes after the scheduled staring time owing to BETTOR CLASS NZ (C. Lewis) requiring a gear adjustment.
RACE 6 – COUNTRYWIDE INSURANCE BROKERS CONDITIONED PACE (2185MS)
PIERRE WHITBY (J. Young) – when questioned regarding leading in today’s event, contrary to recent starts, stable representative C. Lewis stated the drop in class was the reason for attempting a forward position.
RACE 7 – ALABAR DAINTYS DAUGHTER COUNTRY CLASSIC (G3)(2185MS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 8 – AUSMIC PEST CONTROL PACE (2116SS)
BETTOR MY DREAMZ NZ (G. Hall Jnr) – galloped out. A warning was placed on the Standing Start manners.
BE ROCK HARD NZ (R. Warwick) – broke gait shortly after the start. A warning was placed on the Standing Start manners.
CALL TO ARMS (D. Miller) – raced roughly after the start was effected.
RACE 9 – SIGN STRATEGY PACE (2185MS)
BARDAN KID (E. Suvaljko) – unable to come into position at the start resulting in a false start. Will be placed outside the draw in future Mobile Barrier events. Raced ungenerously throughout.
MANCAVE (S. Suvaljko) – Stewards acceded to a request by driver S. Suvaljko to remove the hood after the false start.
BUSHBELLE (G. Cox) – began to give ground from the vicinity of the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed symptoms consistent with the gelding choking down during the event. Stood down until the completion of 1 re-qualifying trial.
