RACE 1 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1609 metres
ZACHAROONI – Was declared a late scratching at 4.28pm by order of Stewards due to it being late on course due to transport difficulties.
GALLIANT KNIGHT – Was declared a late scratching at 2.46pm acting on veterinary advice.
SIR RICHARD LEE - Driver R Alchin was approved as the replacement due to R Morris being unable to arrive on course due to transport difficulties.
MADAME PELE - Pre – race blood sample. Post – race swab sample.
MIKE ORR - Driver M Callaghan was approved as the replacement due to G McElhinney not arriving on course due to transport difficulties.
CASHWRANGS SMOKER – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.
RACE 2 – CLUB MENANGLE COUNTRY SERIES HEAT – 1609 metres
GERALDTON WAX – Pre – race blood sample.
STELLAS DELIGHT NZ – Post – race swab sample.
I AM SPEED – Had a tendency to hang in rounding the final turn and weakened out of the event to finish well back. Driver P Hedges explained that it failed to travel genuinely throughout the event and weakened over the concluding stages. Stewards issued a warning against the performance with Trainer J Forrest advised that if anything was amiss in the days subsequent to notify Stewards.
DRAGON TATOO NZ – Broke stride shortly after the stride was affected. A warning was issued.
DOLLARSIGN – Was held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.
GOTTA KICK – Broke stride as the field raced into the home straight on the first occasion. A warning was issued. Stewards queried Driver G Chapple in relation to the overall performance. Driver G Chapple explained that after over racing in the early stages broke stride and was obliged to race 3 wide as a result of its racing manners. Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance. A post – race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities.
RACE 3 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 2030 metres
The commencement of this race was delayed due to Driver A Bond being dislodged from MISS DAYTONA NZ. As a result the mare when loose contacted the mobile barrier and fell before running free for some distance and making contact with the outside fence. Upon inspection by the veterinarian MISS DAYTONA NZ was reported to have suffered facial injuries and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 6:14 pm on veterinary advice. Upon inquiry it was established that MISS DAYTONA NZ took charge and made contact with DANCING LILLY resulting in A Bond being dislodged. Connections were advised that prior to racing again MISS DAYTONA NZ would be stood down pending a veterinary certificate of fitness in addition to 1 requalifying trial. Prior to the commencement of the race the mobile barrier was tested. The Mare was transported to Newcastle equine centre for further observation.
MACS TOMADO NZ – Pre – race blood sample.
SELSEY BILL NZ – Driver L Dawson was fined the sum of $100 under rule 162(1)(g) in that he moved away from his starting position up the track prior to the start being affected. Post – race swab sample.
RACE 4 – MATES 4 HARNESS PACE – 2030 metres
DAN FERNANDO - Post – race swab sample.
ROCKTAGONAL – Had a tendency to hang in rounding the final turn and raced roughly for a short distance. A warning was issued.
RACE 5 – XXXX DRY PACE – 1609 metres
CAPTAIN DAN NZ– Broke stride in the early stages of the score up and was out of position as the start was affected. Connections were advised that given its recent record it will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Commenced to over race and pull considerably during the early stages of the event obliging Driver C Geary to move to a 3 wide position. Continued to over race for a considerable distance before being able to be restrained to the rear of the field passing the 900 metres. Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance. Connections were advised that given its tractability it would be stood down until it can requalify on 1 occasion.
YOHA NZ– Post – race swab sample.
ITS ALLABOUT ALICE – Was held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.
BOYSHAVTIME NZ– Pre – race blood sample. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.
MISS VERSTAPPEN NZ– Broke stride in the middle stages of the score up. A warning was issued.
RACE 6 – COCA COLA PACE – 1609 metres
SPIRIT INSIDE – Broke stride shortly after the start was affected. A warning was issued.
ROCKNROLL MAMA NZ – Post race swab sample.
HASLER – Pre – race blood sample.
RACE 7 – WOLF BLASS PACE – 1609 metres
RINTIN – Broke stride in the middle stages of the score up. A warning was issued. Was checked as the field negotiated the final turn when trailing weakening runners.
ICSPOTS– Pre – race blood sample. Was checked as the field the final turn when trailing the weakening CHROMOZONE NZ. Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.
CHROMOZONE NZ– Had a tendency to over race in the early stages of the event. Driver E Chapple was fined the sum of $200 under rule 163(1)(c)(ii) in that when racing down the home straight on the first occasion and down the back straight on the final occasion contacted a number of marker pegs whilst leading the event. Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance. A warning was issued. A post – race veterinary examination could not reveal any abnormalities.
CHANGINGOFTHEGUARD– Raced roughly as the field entered the first turn and was obliged to be restrained to the rear of the field.
CASUAL RIVER – Was examined pre and post - race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.
OUR CHANCE TODREAM – Post – race swab sample.
RACE 8 – AVE TECHNOLOGIES PACE – 1609 metres
MISS SERENDIPITY – Post – race swab sample.
BADLUCKBAZ – Momentarily locked wheels shortly after entering the home straight for the run to the finish.
YOU LITTLE TERROR – Hung in shortly after entering the home straight for the run to the finish and momentarily locked wheels with BADLUCKBAZ.
AMERICAN KESTREL – Pre – race blood sample.
TORPEDO BART – Broke stride as the field negotiated the first turn and again when leaving the home straight with a lap remaining. Connections were advised that given its recent record it will now be required to requalify on 1 occasion.
CHRISTIAN BROTHER NZ – Was examined pre and post – race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.
RACE 9 – NEWCASTLEHARNESS.COM.AU PACE – 2030 metres
CARRIBEAN SPICE – Pre – race blood sample.
DOWN STREAM – Post – race blood sample.
POLISH PRINCE – Was fractious in the early stages of the score up and was out of position as the start was affected. A warning was issued. Hung out when trailing the field leaving the back straight on the final occasion and weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten a considerable distance. Connections were advised that given its tractability in the event it would be placed on its last chance to race truly.
FEELING LUCKY – When called up to the start sustained a flat near side tyre resulting in a false start to be declared which caused some delay prior to the recommencement.
TRIPLE RAIDER – Had a tendency to hang out at various stages of the event.
