RACE 1 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1609 metres

ABDICATE NZ – Pre race sample was taken. Post race sample was taken.

THE MIGHTY MONDO NZ– Had a tendency to over race and raced up onto the back of ROSIE ROCKS racing down the back straight on the final occasion. Driver W Rixon was cautioned and advised to take greater care in similar circumstances. Was held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

ROSIE ROCKS– Sustained a flat tyre as the field raced down the back straight on the final occasion after a contact with the near side wheels.

BETTOR TO BE TRICKY NZ– Was examined pre and post race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

LIL RIPPER NZ- Pre race sample was taken.

 

RACE 2 – TOOHEYS PACE – 2030 metres

DRAGON TATTOO NZWas checked and broke strideshortly after the start was effected.

ITSALLABOUTJACK- Pre race sample was taken.

YESNOMAYBESO– Driver A Garaty pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that shortly after the start was effected approaching the winning post on the first occasion, closed down the track in an attempt to find a position in the running line and in doing so restricted the racing room of DRAGON TATTOO NZ which broke stride. Driver A Garaty’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 10 days. When considering penalty stewards took into account his plea of guilt driving record in relation to interference and also the racing manners of DRAGON TATTOO NZ. Post race sample was taken.

BREXITT - Pre race sample was taken. Stewards cautioned driver W Rixon in relation to reducing the tempo as the field negotiated the first turn.

CLOUDIN UP- Was checked and broke stride as the field negotiated the first turn when racing up onto the back of SMOOTH ROLLING, as a result of the tempo easing in the event at that stage.

HOIHO NZ– Was checked as the field negotiated the first turn.

 

RACE 3 – WOLF BLASS PACE – 1609 metres

POLKA DELIGHT NZ- Pre race sample was taken. Obtained inside running over the concluding stages. Post race sample was taken.

BENEATH THE SHADOW– Has a tendency to hang out whilst under pressure in the early stages of the run to the finish despite the best efforts from its driver.

YOKO NZ– Was held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

QUE SERA- Pre race sample was taken. 

 

RACE 4 – NSWBC REGIONAL 3YO COLTS AND GELDINGS HEAT – 1609 metres

SAINT CRUSADER– Driver G Panella was reprimanded under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that shortly after entering the home straight for the run to the finish permitted her runner to shift wider on the track which placed DANIEL BOOM in restricted room whilst his wheel was locked with ONE FOR THE RODI (M Formosa) and as a result was hampered. Post race sample was taken.

DANIEL BOOM- Pre race sample was taken. Rounding the home turn on the final occasion locked wheels with ONE FOR THE RODI and as a result was hampered as the field progressed into the home straight again was placed in restricted room with SAINT CRUSADER manuvering wider on the track and was again hampered.

LEXY CAN BERN- Pre race sample was taken. 

ONE FOR THE RODI– When making a three wide move rounding the final turn had a tendency to hang in whereas a result closed down the track and locked wheels DANIEL BOOM and as a result was checked. These runners wheels remained locked for the remainder of the event to which they finished distanced.

BARRYS BROTHER– Was out of position as the start was effected. Connections were advised it will continue to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 5 – THE FEATURE SWEEPSTAKES PACE – 1609 metres

NEVER KNOW CHARLIE- Pre race sample was taken. 

JEMSOMS PET- Pre race sample was taken. 

ALWAYS ROCKIN– Stewards queried driver S Grima in relation to the tactics adopted. S Grima explained that instructions were to go forward and attempt to lead the event. He further added that when rounding the first turn was left racing three wide with quick pace in the event however was traveling comfortably. Racing into the home straight on the first occasion looked to attempt for the lead however was unsuccessful and raced outside of the leader. He further added that leaving the home straight when eased his drive was in his opinion travelling strongly however coming to the 600 metres sustained a flat tyre as a result of contact to the near side wheel which placed him at a disadvantage over the concluding stages. Stewards noted his comments however advised that greater judgment of temp needs to be displayed.

MASTER CATCH– Driver J Gallagher was cautioned in relation to when racing down the back straight on the final occasion raced up onto the near side wheel of ALWAYS ROCKIN to which that runner sustained a flat tyre. Post race sample was taken.

 

RACE 6 – NSWBC REGIONAL 3YO FILLIES HEAT – 1609 metres

DREAMY CASTAFIORE– Pre race sample was taken.

SHES LUSH– Pre race sample was taken.

TE QUIRO- Post race sample was taken.

OJENNY MAY– Upon request for connections approval was given for the filly to be re – included into the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 7 – WWW.NEWCASTLEHARNESS.COM.AU TWO YEAR OLD MAIDEN PACE – 1609 metres

ARTIFICE JOE- Pre race sample was taken. Post race sample was taken.

SUMMER ROCKSTAR– Coming to the 900 metres commenced to hang in and contacted marker pegs and shortly thereafter with the tempo easingin the event, raced up to the inside of TIGERS SPIRIT and as a result was checked and broke stride.

SCREENSHOT– Broke stride as the field negotiated the first turn. A warning was issued. Connections advised stewards that it will be the intention for it to now be spelled.

AINTSHEASTAR– Broke stride in the latter stages of the score up and was out of position as the start was effected. Connections were advised given its limited experience it will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

MY STELLA ROSE- Pre race sample was taken.

 

RACE 8 – GOOZDOLPHIN RACING MAIDEN MUSTER HEATS 5 DECEMBER PACE – 1609 metres

SILVER LADY NZ– Was held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

BLOWUP- Pre race sample was taken.

BEATBOXER - Post race sample was taken.

PAYTONS ROCK NZ– Had a tendency to hang out throughout various stages of the event. A warning was issued.

NIFTY STUDLEIGH- Pre race sample was taken. Was held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

 

RACE 9 – COCA COLA PACE – 1609 metres

TAKEME TO THE BEACH– Broke stride whilst under pressure over the concluding stages. A warning was issued. Post race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

EAGLE FALLS– Driver M Callaghan pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that prior to entering the home straight for the run to the finish permitted his runner to shift wider on the track which placed MIDNIGHT QUEEN in restricted room when to the inside of BIG TIME HUSTLER and as a result was checked. Driver M Callaghan licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 7 days. When considering penalty stewards took into account his plea of guilt, in addition to his driving record in relation to interference.

MIDNIGHT QUEEN– Was tightened for racing room prior to entering the home straight for the run to the finish and as a result was checked.

HUNK OF SPUNK- Pre race sample was taken.

SUNNY TOWN- Pre race sample was taken.

DOLLARSIGN- Post race sample was taken.

 

RACE 10 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1609 metres

REDBANK OLIVIA- Post race sample was taken.

ROCKINDOWNUNDER- Pre race sample was taken. Driver M Formosa was fined the sum of $50 under rule 162(1)(h) in that he failed to come up into position prior to the start of the event.

MAC STUBBORN- Pre race sample was taken.

A CASUAL RIVER– Driver D Morgan was reprimanded under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when racing the back straight on the final occasion prevented his runner to shift wider on the track which in turn forced JUST FEELNGOOD wider on the track which in turn placed MIKE ORR in restricted racing room when racing to the inside of ROCKINDOWNUNDER.
