RACE 1 – TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY 2YO MAIDEN PACE – 1609 metres
THE MOVEMENT – Raced greenly throughout the event.
TIGERS SPIRIT – Pre-race blood sample. Trainer K Pizzuto was fined the sum of $50 under rule 268A(1) for failing to lodge a gear form for the gelding. Had a tendency to hang in when rounding the final turn and raced inside a number of marker pegs.
NO DRAMAS – Pre-race blood sample. Caught racing three wide in the early stages of the event prior to, working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1100 meters. Had a tendency to race roughly when rounding the final turn. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 2 – MATES RATES @ THE PACEWAY MAIDEN PACE – 2030 metres
BIG SHADOW - Pre-race blood sample. Trainer K Morris was fined the sum of $50 under rule 268A(1) for failing to lodge a gear form for the colt. Worked forward to obtain the lead leaving the 1600 meters. Driver R Morris pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 156(7) for unapproved whip use in that, when passing the 100 meters he had projected the whip outside the confines of the sulky by way of striking the offside sulky wheel. After considering the recent record of Mr Morris along with his guilty plea, R Morris was fined the sum of $200. Post-race swab sample.
PICCADILLY POP – Commenced to weaken over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.
FLYING SHARD – Pre-race blood sample. Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian in accordance with HRNSW’s welfare policy. No abnormalities were reported.
RACE 3 – $10 BBQ & BEV FRI 22 JULY PACE – 1609 metres
STEEVEN – Pre-race blood sample. Held up for clear running over the early stages of the run to the finish.
JACKEROO SHANNON – Caught racing three wide in the early stages of the event prior to, restraining towards the rear of the field to obtain a position in the running line approaching the 1000 meters. Post-race swab sample.
GLEN INNES LAD – Caught racing three wide in the early stages of the event prior to, working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1100 meters.
ADAMS IT – Pre-race blood sample. Caught racing three wide in the early stages of the event prior to, restraining towards the rear of the field to obtain a position in the running line passing the 1100 meters. Held up for clear running over the early stages of the run to the finish.
RACE 4 – XMAS IN JULY/MEMBERS NIGHT FRI 29 JULY PACE – 1609 metres
THE BLUE WREN – Commenced to weaken over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.
GALIANT KNIGHT – Pre-race blood sample. Had a tendency to over-race in the early stages of the event. Post-race swab sample.
GOTTA RUSH – Pre-race blood sample.
RESOLUTE BAY – Obtained inside running over the final 50 meters of the event.
CHRSITIAN BROTHER NZ – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian in accordance with HRNSW’s welfare policy. No abnormalities were reported.
RACE 5 – PITCHER PARTNERS NEWCASTLE PACE – 1609 metres
CHANGINGOFTHEGUARD – Inclined to race roughly after the start was effected. A warning was issued.
DANIEL BOOM – Pre-race blood sample. Trainer C Harmey was fined the sum of $50 under rule 268A(1) for failing to lodge a gear form for the colt. Post-race swab sample.
ARTFUL BABE – Placed in restricted room and contacted marker pegs when rounding the final turn, as a result of BROOKLYN RAINBOW hanging in at that stage of the event.
BROOKLYN RAINBOW – Pre-race blood sample. Trainer A Ruggari was fined the sum of $50 under rule 268A(1) for failing to lodge a gear form for the filly. Had a tendency to race roughly and hang in when rounding the final turn, as a result ARTFUL BABE was placed in restricted room and contacted marker pegs. A warning was issued.
SUMBEACH ART – Commenced to weaken over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.
YARRAMAN MARKLE – Caught racing three wide in the early stages of the event prior to, working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1200 meters.
KUDOS MASON – Held up for clear running over the early stages of the run to the finish.
RACE 6 – SHARP OFFICE PACE – 2030 metres
GRANDVIEW – Pre-race blood sample.
FAISELLE – Pre-race blood sample.
BEAUTIFUL STRANGER – Commenced to weaken over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.
NEW TRICKS NZ – A post-race veterinary exam revealed the mare to be experiencing abdominal swelling, and as such was treated by the veterinarian with an anti-inflammatory on course. Acting on veterinary advice, NEW TRICKS NZ was stood down for a period of seven days, in addition to requiring a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to returning to race.
OUR ROYS DREAM – Trainer A Ison was fined the sum of $50 under rule 210 for failing to declare J Hughes as the driver by the prescribed time.
BEACHBOY BUTCH – Commenced to weaken significantly over the final 500 meters to be beaten 114.2 meters. A post-race veterinary exam revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Acting in accordance with rule 101(3)(a), BEACHBOY BUTCH was stood down for a period of 3 months, in addition to requiring a veterinary certificate of fitness and the completion of one re-qualifying trial prior to returning to race.
KING TIGER – Improved three wide from the 1700 meters until, obtaining the lead passing the 1600 meters. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 7 – POWER PRODUCTIONS PACE – 1609 meters
WAYOUTWEST – Pre-race blood sample. Caught racing three wide in the early stages of the event prior to, restraining towards the rear of the field to obtain a position in the running line approaching the 1100 meters.
BENEATH THE SHADOW – Pre-race blood sample. Trainer A Ruggari was fined the sum of $50 under rule 268A(1) for failing to lodge a gear form for the gelding. Fractious in the early stages of the score up and consequently was out of position at the start. In view of the gelding’s recent record, connections were advised BENEATH THE SHADOW would now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Post-race swab sample.
LADY LAGERTHA NZ –Commenced to weaken over the final 500 meters to be beaten 98.4 meters. A post-race veterinary exam failed to reveal any abnormalities. After considering the mare’s recent record, LADY LAGERTHA NZ was stood down to one re-qualifying trial.
RACE 8 – THE TAB APP PACE - 2030 meters
MISS VERSTAPPEN – Had a tendency to over-race throughout the early and middle stages of the event.
SELSEY BILL NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
STEALH BOMBA NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
DHAULAGIRI NZ – Had a tendency to over-race throughout the early and middle stages of the event.
CAPTIAN DAN NZ – Upon request from connections and in view of the gelding’s recent record, CAPTAIN DAN NZ will now be re-included into the mobile barrier draw.
AALESUND – Inclined to shift out when placed under pressure over the concluding stages. Post-race swab sample.
