Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
All engaged drivers at today’s meeting were subjected to rapid antigen tests being supervised by the Stewards prior to fulfilling their drives.
The sprint lane was in operation at tonight’s meeting.
Mudguards and sulky sheets were utilised throughout the meeting.
RACE 1 – GLENROY CHAFF – OATEN, WHEATEN & LUCERNE CHAFF 3YO FILLIES PACE (1780MS)
SWEETEST THING was a late withdrawal from this event at 4.05pm due to having a virus.
THE HOPE DIAMOND (D. Egerton-Green) – Raced roughly at the winning post shortly after the start, contacted and dislodged a marker peg which DIAMOND DANCE NZ (M. Miller) jumped and raced roughly. A warning was issued in respect to the racing manners of THE HOPE DIAMOND.
When questioned as to why he elected to race without a trail, Trainer/Driver G. Johnson (YANKEEDELIGHT NZ) stated that in its previous runs with a trail the filly had been disappointing therefore he remained in the one out line. Further he was again disappointed with the run in this race. Trainer/Driver G. Johnson was advised he should be mindful of the work he asks the filly to do in future runs.
RACE 2 – GLENROY CHAFF – SMALL SQUARES DIV.2 PACE (1780MS)
CRACKA TINNY (K. Symington) and OUR SURROGATE (M. Miller) under pre-race Veterinary examinations as they had raced on Friday night at Narrogin, both pacers were passed fit to race.
General: The reinspersons licence of K. Symington (CRACKA TINNY) was suspended for 10 days after he had pleaded guilty to a charge of careless driving under R163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference when shifting off the marker in the back straight on the final occasion and contacting the near foreleg of THE MONIES ON (S. Suvaljko) which paced roughly as a result. Steward in assessing penalty took into account the nature of the interference, previous driving record and his guilty plea. Mr Symington will begin his suspension from midnight tonight being 23 July 2022 ending midnight 2 August 2022.
RACE 3 – GLENROY CHAFF – OAKFORD STOCKFEEDS PACE (2190MS)
METEOROID (E. Suvaljko) – When leading the event paced roughly racing out of the back straight on the final occasion. It was observed that the shadow roll had shifted on the gelding and these circumstances were noted.
AMERICAN DUTCHESS (S. Suvaljko) and ROBO REACTOR (K. Harper) engaged sulky wheels midway down the front straight until the finish.
RACE 4 – GLENROY CHAFF – OAKFORD STOCKFEEDS PACE (2190MS)
SLEEK AND SWEET (K. Symington) – Contacted the marker peg entering the front straight on the first occasion, and in the final lap went inside the marker peg. Driver K. Symington was advised to exercise more care in future.
RACE 5 – GLENROY CHAFF – PREMIUM PRODUCTS JOHN HIGGINS MEMORIAL HEAT 3 PACE (2190MS)
BE ROCK HARD NZ (D. Roberts) and MAKE IT HAPPEN (C. Peterson) jostled for positions racing in the back straight on the final occasion.
RACE 6 – GLENROY CHAFF YORK CUP (G3) PACE (2190MS)

RACE 7 – GLENROY CHAFF – BIO-JOHN PETSTOCK DIV.A PACE (1780MS)

The start of this race was delayed as there were two dogs on the perimeter of the track.
