Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
All engaged drivers at tonight’s meeting were subjected to rapid antigen tests being supervised by the Stewards prior to fulfilling their drives.
RACE 1 – TALK TO A MATE 3YO FILLIES PACE (1823MS)
TORREVEAN AMY (K. Symington) – Hung outwards and broke gait racing into the front straight on the final occasion. Will be stood down from racing for a period of 6 days and until such time as the completion of 1 satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
RACE 2 – GET BACK TO THE TRACK PACE (2242MS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 3 – THOSE WITH THE TOUCH CHOOSE TABTOUCH PACE (2662MS)
GENERAL JOLT (C. Lewis) – Stewards questioned Driver C. Lewis as to reasons why when he had the opportunity of taking his drive from the marker peg line to a position on the outside racing in the back straight on the final occasion. Mr Lewis put forward that when the pace eased in the middle stages, GENERAL JOLT began to over-race and contact its own sulky. He also advised he had trouble getting the gelding back to a position to enable him to go to the outside.
RACE 4 – IRON JACK RWWA FEATURE 3YO+ WESTBRED PACE (2242MS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 5 – XXXX GOLD PACE (2242MS)
JUST FOR LOVE (C. Lewis) – Driver C. Lewis reported the mare had contacted its own sulky during the event.
General: The first attempt of a start was aborted due to the offside number on KEPTAIN COURAGEOUS (T. Wheeler) became detached placing the gelding at a disadvantage.
RACE 6 – RACING ASSIST PACE (2636SS)
CELEBRITY CHEF (C. Playle) – Raced rough after the start.
FIGHT SONG (T. Bryant) – Slow to begin.
FOVEAUX MAJOR NZ (G. Gray) – Gave ground from the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Will be stood down from racing until such time as the completion of 1 satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
RACE 7 – NARROGIN LIQUOR BARONS PACE (2242MS)
JIVING JOLT (C. Lewis) – Sustained a flat near side tyre at approximately the 400m.
BAILEY MAJOR NZ (T. Bryant) – Drive T. Bryant was fined $100 under the provisions of R168(1)(a) for driving in a careless manner in that he contacted and flattened the near side sulky tyre of JIVING JOLT (C. Lewis) racing out of the back straight on the final occasion.
RACE 8 – TABTOUCH PACE (2242MS)
