Trainers with multiple runners in any one race provided stewards with their intentions prior to the event.
RACE 1 GAMBIER WEST DELI PACE – 1780MS
YOU’RE A SHOCKER – Contacted its own sulky when racing through the turns, during the event, trainer will attempt to remedy the issue.
IRISHMURPHY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination in accordance with the HRSA aged horse policy.
BETTERTHAN A KISS – Unable to find a clear running until late in the final straight and was never fully tested.
HILLDALE SUNRISE - Utilised the sprint lane when it became available and was fully tested to the line.
RACE 2 WJ & CA PACE – 1780MS
KOLOVOS NZ – Hung in and contacted marker pegs near the 700 metres, a warning was issued.
JILLIBY ROY – Gave ground from the 400 metres to eventually be beaten 64.0 meters, a warning was issued.
SPRINGFIELD AFFAIR – Driver C. Rauchenberger switched from the running line and utilised the sprint lane when it became available and was fully tested to the line.
ART JESTER – Broke gait, free of interference, as the field raced into the first turn, losing considerable ground, a warning was issued. Driver J. Finnis then elected to move three wide near the 850 metres; as the field raced down the final straight ART JESTER commenced to tire, under the circumstances, no further action was taken against ART JESTER.
CREATIVE LAD – Inconvenienced as the field raced through the first turn when ART JESTER broke gait when racing in advance of him.
RACE 3 SPEC SAVERS – MOUNT GAMBIER PACE – 1780MS
WHITE STAR WHIZZ – Raced roughly over the final 400 metres, a warning was issued.
WISTFUL LADY – Fractious in the circling procedure, then broke gait in the score up, a false start was declared. Broke gait once the start was effected, at the second attempt, and took no competitive part in the race, stood down to one satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
LETS GO CRESCO – Gave ground from the 500 metres to eventually be beaten 66.0 meters, a warning was issued.
TUXEDO BROMAC NZ – Hung in and raced roughly near the 300 metres, a warning was issued.
RACE 4 BRYANTS FORESTRY & EARTHMOVING 2&3YO PACE – 1780MS
UNIVERSAL BOSS – Inconvenienced as the field raced into the first turn when AINTSOBAD hung in on his outside. Gave ground over the final 600 metres of the event to eventually be beaten 131.0 metres, placed on its last chance to race competitively.
AINTSOBAD – Hung in and broke gait as the field raced into the first turn, a warning was issued. Checked and broke gait when HEZ ALL ROCK broke gait in advance of him.
LETHAL LOUIE – Obtained an inside run when SEA FLYER, which was leading the event, shifted out in the back straight on the last occasion.
SEA FLYER – Contacted its own sulky during the event and then as the field raced down the back straight on the final occasion, shifted out, despite the efforts of the driver, a warning was issued.
MARTIN MAGIC – Checked as the field raced through the first turn when AINTSOBAD broke gait when racing in advance of him.
HEZ ALL ROCK – Raced roughly for a short distance near the 1000 metres and then broke gait free of interference near the 600 metres, a warning was issued. Driver K Brough advised Stewards the colt had cast a plate from its near side hind leg.
RACE 5 NORMS PLUMBING & BUILDING SUPPLIES PACE – 1780MS
EASTBRO DAISY – After racing at the head of the one out line, the mare shifted out under pressure near the 200 metres, a warning was issued.
CLASSACT – Due to the fact the gelding had not raced for over 12 months it underwent a veterinary examination prior to the event.
ASMILEANDAWINX – Showed gate speed and led the event then had a tendency to over-race whilst leading the event.
PERILOUS – Due to the fact the gelding had not raced for nearly 12 months it underwent a veterinary examination prior to the event. Then when in the preliminary, driver J. Finnis, requested the veterinarian to have a further examination of PERILOUS as he was concerned with its gait, however after doing an additional lap in the preliminary the driver was confident PERILOUS was comfortable in its gait, as was the veterinarian and the mare was passed fit to race. At the conclusion of the event Stewards requested the veterinarian examine the mare again to ensure it had recovered well, the veterinarian could find no issues or concerns.
RACE 6 MOUNT GAMBIER RURAL SUPPLIES PACE – 1780MS
MY PURPLE PATCH – Driver L. Cook was reprimanded under Rule 162(1)(ww) for allowing his runner to shift up the track in the final straight.
JOHNNY REDCOAT – Utilised the sprint lane when it became available and was fully tested to the line.
