RACE 1 – FIND US ON FACEBOOK TWO YEAR OLD– 1680 METRES
MORE THAN THIS was tightened and contacted the sulky of CAMELOT JEDIMASTER racing toward the 400 metre mark causing it to race roughly, then tired to be beaten in excess of 73 metres. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities and the gelding has been placed on its last chance to race competitively.
Driver K Williams (CAMELOT JEDIMASTER) was reprimanded under AHRR168(1)(a). Particulars were that he allowed his horse to shift in and tighten the running of MORE THAN THIS causing it to race roughly.
MY ULTIMATE JIMBO broke free of interference approaching the 400 metre mark and has been placed on his last chance to race truly.
Driver J Duggan (IMHOOKED) was fined $200 after pleading guilty to a charge under AHRR156(2)(a). Particulars were that he used his whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion.
Trainer D Williams was questioned regarding the apparent improved performance of CAMELOT JEDIMASTER Ms Williams stated that the gelding had gained confidence from his first race start and this combined with an increased workload had led to a better performance tonight. Stewards noted her explanation for future reference
RACE 2 – CROWN LAGER PACE – 2200 METRES
AHA REACTION NZ pulled hard during the event.
COLBY SANZ was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight.
Driver N Ford (HAYDEN BROMAC NZ) was cautioned for his whip action and advised to modify his action to prevent any breaches of the whip rule.
RACE 3 – BOOK YOUR CHRISTMAS FUNCTION WITH US ON DECEMBER 3RD – 2200 METRES
SOMEDAN raced roughly in the back straight the first time before working around the field to race outside the leader.
PROSECUTION WITNESS NZ was held up and unable to be fully tested.
PROFICIENT NZ obtained an inside run in the home straight when SON OF RAYSON shifted out under pressure.
SON OF RAYSON underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities.
Driver M Yole (SON OF RAYSON) was fined the sum of $100 under AHRR162(www)(c). Particulars were that he allowed his horse to shift up the track in the home straight allowing PROFICIENT NZ to gain an inside run.
RACE 4 – LEES ORCHARD GOLDEN APPLE HEAT 2–2200 METRES
THE BROOKLYN BRAWLER NZ galloped away and shifted up the track eventually making contact with the outside fence and being retired from the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant injuries. THE BROOKLYN BRAWLER NZ has been placed out of the draw in future standing start events.
HICKSTEAD NZ was fractious before the start and then galloped away taking no competitive part in the event. HICKSTEAD NZ has been placed out of the draw in future standing start events.
ARDEN ROANOKE NZ galloped away and will continue to be out of the draw in standing starts.
AQUA SANCTA NZ galloped away and has been placed out of the draw in future standing start events.
FYNN FROST NZ and MISTER GENTLY locked wheels racing to the first turn. FYNN FROST NZ galloped for a short distance when these wheels unlocked.
Stewards inquired into the reasons MISTER GENTLY was tightened and broke racing around the turn into the home straight the final time. After taking evidence from drivers G Rattray (MISTER GENTLY), C Castles (ROCKANDAHARDPLACE), R Hillier (RYLEY MAJOR) and N Ford (JAWBREAKER)it was established that RYLEY MAJOR was making a three wide run and hung in slightly at the same time JAWBREAKER shifted up the track and tightened the ground of both ROCKANDAHARDPLACE and MISTER GENTLY which broke as a result. Stewards were of the opinion that no driver could be held fully responsible for this incident and all drivers were advised to take more care in similar situations.
Driver N Ford (JAWBREAKER) was fined $100 under AHRR162(www)(c). Particulars were that he allowed his horse to shift up the track in the home straight allowing CHECK IN NZ to gain an inside run.
Trainer M Cooper was questioned about the apparent improved performance of CALL ME HECTOR winner of the event. Mr Cooper stated that due to the recent wet weather he had been unable to work his horse as he desired until the past fortnight and this had played a part in the horses performance.
CALL ME HECTOR was detained on course for 2.5 hours to enable blood samples to be obtained.
RACE 5 – CARLTON DRAUGHT STAKES–2200 METRES
Driver N Ford (MONTANA LAD NZ) was reprimanded under AHRR162(1)(j) for failing to maintain his position behind the mobile barrier until the start was effected.
ENDEAVOUR STRIDE pulled hard during the event.
HEZ RAZOR SHARP was held up and unable to be fully tested.
OUR BALOU underwent a post-race veterinary examination after tiring to be beaten in excess of 111 metres. The gelding was showing signs of a slow recovery and has been stood down until the completion of a satisfactory trial.
Driver R Backhouse (WHERE YA BIN NZ) was fined the sum of $200 after pleading guilty to a charge under AHRR156(2)(a). Particulars were that he used his whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion.
MONTANA LAD NZ has been reinstated in the mobile draw.
RACE 6 –TASSIE GOLDEN APPLE NIGHT DECEMBER 3RD. –2200 METRES
MARISOL jibbed in the initial stages of the score up and was out of position when the start was effected. The mare has been placed out of the draw in future mobile events.
Driver T Rattray (DRAGON BLOOD) was reprimanded under AHRR162(1)(j) for failing to maintain his position behind the mobile barrier until the start was effected.
Driver L Older (MACARIA) was reprimanded under AHRR163(1)(c)(i). Particulars were that he allowed the filly to contact and then race inside marker pegs in the home straight the final time.
BALDASARRE tired over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 58 metres and has been placed on its last chance to race competitively.
JUST A GEM tired over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 55 metres and has been placed on its last chance to race competitively.
RACE 7 – TRAINERS ENCOURAGEMENT PACE–1680 METRES
STAR WATCHING broke in the early stages of the score up however was in position at the start.
ROCKOWSROAD was caught wide before restraining to the rear of the field.
A post-race veterinary examination of MASTER LEON which gave ground to be beaten in excess of 48 metres failed to show any abnormalities.
RACE 8 – LADBROKES PACE–2200 METRES
After beginning satisfactorily BEAM ME UP CHOPPER was reinstated in the mobile barrier draw.
LESYA hung in and locked wheels with NO NUKES SKIPPER NZ racing to the 400 metre mark forcing that gelding over the marker pegs. Driver L Older (LESYA) reported that the mare had choked down in his opinion and it was stood down until the completion of a satisfactory trial.
JUST TIGER broke free of interference and has been placed on its last chance to race truly.
Driver B Parker (KIVIK) was cautioned for his whip action and advised to modify his action to prevent any breaches of the whip rule.
RACE 9 – FAMILY FUN NIGHT DECEMBER 3RD–1680 METRES
TEE JAY CEE broke in the score up however was in position at the start.
Driver Taylor Ford (ONE OFF NZ) was fined $100 under AHRR162(1)(h). Particulars were that she failed to come into her position behind the mobile barrier.
Driver M Ford (VIVID STRIDE) was fined $100 under AHRR162(1)(j) for failing to maintain his position behind the mobile barrier until the start was effected.
GUIDO DA SIENA NZ pulled hard during the event.
FURY DAN shifted out under pressure in the home straight allowing an inside run to GUENEVERES MADONNA. No action was taken against driver N Ford due to the minimal initial shift which allowed GUENEVERES MADONNA to place its legs inside the wheel of FURY DAN obliging Mr Ford to allow his horse to shift wider to avoid contact.
