RACE 1 –GREAT NORTHERN SUPER CRISP STAKES – 2200 METRES
Trainers were informed that splash sheets and mudguards were to be used at tonights meeting
SPORTS ILLUSTRATOR broke free of interference shortly after the start and has been placed on its last chance to race truly.
GALAXY DANCER was held up and inconvenienced by a tiring runner.
EMJAYS BLACK CHIP was held and inconvenienced by a tiring runner before sustaining a flat tyre and being eased out of the race.
KIVIK contacted the tyre of EMJAYS BLACK CHIP just after the bell when held up behind a tiring runner. Under the circumstances no action was taken against driver G Rattray.
MAGIC PEBBLES gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 31 metres.
LALIBELA NZ tired to be beaten in excess of 60 metres and has been placed on its last chance to race competitively.
After beginning satisfactorily KIVIK has been reinstated in the mobile draw.
SMOOTH DEAL NZ underwent a post-race veterinary examination after being beaten in excess of 278 metres which revealed the gelding to be showing signs of atrial fibrillation. The gelding has been stood down for a period of 14 days and until the receipt of a veterinary certificate inclusive of an ECG and must perform a satisfactory trial before being eligible to race again.
RACE 2 – TRAINERS ENCOURAGEMENT PACE – 2200 METRES
MISTA EAGLE was held up and inconvenienced before obtaining an inside run in the home straight.
TAXI METER gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 46 metres.
DEBT TILL WE PART gave ground over the concluding stages then shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
STAR WATCHING gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 42 metres.
IMPULZE was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight.
After beginning satisfactorily IMPULZE has been reinstated in the mobile draw.
After consulting with senior drivers Stewards directed that splash sheets and mudguards were no longer required.
RACE 3 – 6TY BANDBOX FINAL – 2200 METRES
A warning was issued to HIVOLTAGE GLENWOOD which hung in racing to the first turn tightening MISCELLANEOUS which contacted a marker peg.
MISCELLANEOUS was held up before gaining clear running in the home straight.
HIVOLTAGE GLENWOOD gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 41 metres.
Swab samples were taken from the first and second placegetters.
RACE 4 – NUTRIEN AG SOLUTIONS GLODE DERBY –2200 METRES
GETHOMEROY was out of position at the start. Driver C Castles was reprimanded under AHRR162(1)(j) for failing to maintain his position until the start.
MAGICIAN worked forward three wide in the middle stages to race outside the leader.
ROCKNROLL WIZARD broke free of interference and has been placed on its last chance to race truly.
Swab samples were taken from the first and second placegetters.
RACE 5 – TASSIE GOLDEN APPLE HEAT ONE –2200 METRES
KUZMA galloped out and has been placed out of the draw in future standing starts.
MONTANA STORM NZ galloped out and has been placed out of the draw in future standing starts.
AHA REACTION NZ galloped out and will continue to be out of the standing start draw.
MIGHTY FLYING ART NZ galloped out and has been placed on its last chance in the standing start draw.
SUNNY SANZ galloped out and has been placed on its last chance in the standing start draw
AHA REACTION NZ hung in and contacted marker pegs around the home turn.
MONTANA STORM NZ was held up and unable to be fully tested.
RACE 6 –COLLINS HOMES GRANNY SMITH –2698 METRES
Soon after entering the home straight the final time MELNROWLEY which had led the event galloped and veered outward severely checking SEVENTHREEOHSEVEN, LAFOND, LALASA, MOST PERFECT MAJOR and LESYA, dislodging drivers N Ford, (SEVENTHREEOHSEVEN), B Rattray, (LAFOND) and T Rattray, (LALASA).
MELNROWLEY underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed the mare had bled from one nostril during the event and as such has been stood down until the completion of a satisfactory trial.
SEVENTHREEOHSEVEN, LAFOND and LALASA all underwent post-race veterinary examinations and were cleared of any serious injuries.
Drivers B RATTRAY, N FORD, T RATTRAY were examined after the event and passed fit to continue driving.
Driver N Emery (BAROOGA ROCK) was fined the sum of $300 after pleading guilty to a charge under AHRR156(2)(a). Particulars were that she used her whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion. Stewards took into account that this offence occurred in a feature race.
Driver R Hadley, (LOOBY LOMBO) was fined the sum of $300 after pleading guilty to a charge under AHRR156(2)(a). Particulars were that she used his whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion. Stewards took into account that this offence occurred in a feature race.
Swab samples were taken from the first and second placegetters.
RACE 7 – TASFREIGHT RAIDER STAKES –2698 METRES
MAXI JOLT underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after competing at Hobart on 11/11/22 and was deemed suitable to race.
AGOUDA RULER raced ungenerously in the score up and was out of position at the start. The gelding has been placed on its last chance in the mobile draw.
ROCKNOVERTIME pulled hard during the event.
MAXI JOLT tired over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 112 metres. The gelding has been placed on its last chance to race competitively.
JACK JAMES was held up and inconvenienced behind the tiring MAXI JOLT.
Swab samples were taken from the first and second placegetters.
RACE 8 – CROWN LAGER STAKES –1680 METRES
HAYDEN BROMAC NZ was caught wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field.
THE BROOKLYN BRAWLER NZ was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight.
HICKSTEAD NZ was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight.
Driver R Backhouse (JAWBREAKER) was reprimanded under AHRR162(1)(ww) for allowing his horse to shift out under pressure in the home straight.
RACE 9 – LADBROKES STAKES –2200 METRES
BENJAMIN NIADH was caught wide before restraining to the rear of the field.
ROCKOWSROAD sustained a flat tyre racing down the back straight the final time.
Driver M Ford (PRIDDY SUBLIME) was fined the sum of $100 after pleading guilty to a charge under AHRR168(1)(a). Particulars were that he allowed his horse to contact the tyre of ROCKOWSROAD causing it to puncture.
MACH BRILLIANCE was retired from the event. Driver T Yole reported that the mare had choked down and she has been stood down until the completion of a satisfactory trial.
LETHERROCKNROLL NZ underwent a post-race veterinary examination after being retired from the event which revealed it had choked down during the event. The mare has been stood down until the completion of a satisfactory trial.
Driver C Crook (IDEAL PACE) was advised to modify his whip action to ensure no breaches of the rule.
RACE 10 – RARE EARTH PACE –2200 METRES
MILITARY MAN NZ was declared a late scratching at the barrier acting on veterinary advice after appearing lame in the preliminary. The gelding has been stood down pending receipt of a veterinary clearance to race.
MONTANA LAD NZ broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. The gelding has been placed out of the draw in future mobile events.
ROCK ON PLAYBOY obtained an inside run in the home straight.
Driver C Crook (GOBSMACKED) was fined the sum of $100 after pleading guilty to a charge under AHRR162(1) (www)(c). Particulars were that he allowed his horse to shift out in the home straight advantaging another runner.
