Horses that competed at Hobart Friday 5/8/22 underwent a veterinary examination and were all cleared to race.
Due to Mitch Ford outdriving his 5-point claim on Friday 5/8/22 he was replaced on MAJOR LESTER in Race eight by Luke Hooper and Luke Hooper was replaced on THE DUDE NZ by Mitch Ford.
RACE 1 – FAKE IDEE PACE– 2200 METRES
BEE SEVENTEEN was declared a late scratching at the barrier due to blood being present in its mouth. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bitten his cheek which had stopped bleeding and no stand down was applied.
WHERE YA BIN NZ slightly out of position at the start. No action taken.
DAPPER NZ slightly out of position at the start. No action taken.
NO NUKES SKIPPER NZ was held up and checked behind a tiring runner
VIGOROSO NZ pulled hard during the event.
TARLETON RILEY underwent a post-race veterinary examination after giving ground to be beaten in excess of 48 metres. No abnormalities were detected.
RACE 2 – CLIFF ROBINS MEMORIAL – 1680 METRES
PROMISE STRIDE broke in the score up and was out of position at the start. PROMISE STRIDE has been placed out of the draw in future mobile events.
THE GARDENER was out of position at the start and has been placed on its last chance in the mobile draw.
TRIEDTOTELLYA was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight.
PROMISE STRIDE hung out during the event. After taking into account the fillys recent race record she has been stood down until the completion of a satisfactory trial.
THE GARDENER underwent a post-race veterinary examination after being beaten in excess of 125 metres and was found to have suffered an atrial fibrillation. THE GARDENER has been stood down for a period of 14 days and until the receipt of a veterinary certificate inclusive of an ECG. The gelding has also been stood down until the completion of a satisfactory trial.
RACE 3 – GO DUKE PACE – 2200 METRES
MOZASU NZ pulled hard in the score up.
WESTRAY hung out shortly after the start. A warning was issued.
MAYS PLACE and STUNIN MAGIC NZ locked wheels rounding the home turn.
GORDIEVSKY LEIS was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight.
KING OF COOL gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 44 metres.
RACE 4 – TRAINERS ENCOURAGEMENT PACE–1680 METRES
BENJAMIN NIADH was slightly out of position at the start.
SEVENTHREEOHSEVEN was slightly out of position at the start.
DELIGHTFUL JUNIE was restrained after the start.
STEVIE JOLT was caught wide early before restraining to the rear of the field.
ARTYBOY GLENWOOD was restrained after the start.
RACE 5 – KING FILLIES & MARES SERIES–2200 METRES
CINOCAL JAMANE was restrained after the start.
RESURGENT REBEL was caught wide early before restraining to the rear of the field.
LOOBY LOMBO raced outside the leader early before gaining a trail when IDEN MISS LUCY worked forward to take over that position.
SPRING QUEEN underwent a post-race veterinary examination after giving ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 39 metres. No abnormalities were detected.
RACE 6 –MADONA MISS STAKES–2200 METRES
Driver D Ford (BE MAJOR THREAT) who finished in second position indicated to the all-clear Steward that he wished to view the official replays of the run to the finish. After viewing the replays Mr Ford lodged an objection against the winner HARJEET (T Rattray). Particulars of the protest were that HARJEET had shifted out under pressure in the home straight and had caused him to check his horse and race wider on the track. After taking evidence from both drivers and viewing the official replays Stewards dismissed the protest and all clear was given on the judges numbers. Stewards took into account the fact that whilst HARJEET had shifted up the track Mr Ford was able to fully drive his horse out to the finish
EUREKA NZ galloped out and has been placed out of the draw in future standing start events.
YOUNG ROOSTER galloped out and will continue to be out of the standing start draw.
JAMES DEAN NZ gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 37 metres.
After beginning satisfactorily VINNY CHASE has been reinstated in the standing start draw.
Driver T Rattray (HARJEET) was fined the sum of $100 after pleading guilty to a charge under AHRR162(1)(www).Particulars were that he failed to make sufficient effort to stop HARJEET shifting out in the home straight and had allowed two runners to gain runs to his inside altering the placings.
RACE 7 – JILLIAN ROBINS PACE–2200 METRES
PUNTARNO STRIDE NZ was checked when held up behind another runner in the home straight.
AHA REACTION NZ was held up and broke in the home straight after contacting the sulky of PUNTARNO STRIDE NZ who was disappointed for a run in the concluding stages. Driver M Ford was advised to take more care in similar situations.
Trainer B Yole was queried about the apparent improved performance of MAJOR GENERALJUJON who won the event. Mr Yole stated that in his opinion the horse had benefitted from the addition of a senior driver and had raced up to his very good trial form. Mr Yole stated that he would endeavour to keep tonights driver on the horse in his upcoming engagements to ensure a more consistent formline. Stewards noted Mr Yoles explanation.
RACE 8 – WHITE FACE ROBINS STAKES–2200 METRES
CHEDDAR VALLEY NZ was out of position at the start and will placed on its last chance in the mobile draw.
WE SALUTE YOU was out of position at the start and will placed on its last chance in the mobile draw.
THE DUDE NZ broke in the score up and was out of position at the start and will continue to be out of the draw in mobile events.
KIAVINO STRIDE contacted a marker peg whilst leading and pulling hard during the event.
BEAST MODE contacted his own sulky and pulled hard during the event. The gelding contacted the sulky of SOMEDAN whilst pulling and broke briefly racing to the bell. No action was taken against the gelding. Trainer B Yole was directed to take remedial action to prevent a recurrence of this.
THE DEMOCRAT and WE SALUTE YOU locked wheels in the straight the final time.
ENDEAVOUR STRIDE was held up and unable to be fully tested.
CHEDDAR VALLEY NZ was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight.
Driver S Edyvean was advised to further modify his action when utilising his whip in the future.
RACE 9 – BEENA BUSTER STAKES–2200 METRES
SEA HAWKE was caught wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field.
SANUR BEACH and LIFEOFBRIAN NZ locked wheels briefly at approximately the 400 metre mark.
QUEENOFDANCE NZ contacted the tyre of SANUR BEACH at the 400 metre mark when the wheels of SANUR BEACH and LIFEOFBRIAN were unlocked. Driver K Pratten (QUEENOFDANCE NZ) was advised to take more care in similar situations.
SANUR BEACH underwent a post-race veterinary examination after the event and was found to have mild hopple chafe. No stand down period was required.
