RACE 1 – LEE'S ORCHARD STAKES– 2200 METRES
CALL ME HECTOR showed gate speed to lead the event before giving ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 36 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
A warning was issued to CALL ME HECTOR who hung in and contacted marker pegs.
HARJEET shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
RACE 2 – BOOK NOW FOR YOUR CHRISTMAS FUNCTION SATURDAY 3 DECEMBER STAKES. – 2200 METRES
VIGOROSO NZ was caught wide early before restraining to the rear of the field.
TO THE LOOKOUT was caught wide early before restraining to the rear of the field.
The near-side front hopple carrier of QUEENOFDANCE NZ ($3.90 fav) became detached with 1200 metres to run and QUEENOFDANCE NZ eventually broke with 200 metres to run. At a subsequent inquiry Trainer B Yole pleaded guilty to a charge under AHRR273(2)(b) for presenting the mare to race in insecure gear. After taking into account Mr Yoles recent record under this rule Stewards fined him the sum of $400.
ON MY OATH underwent a post-race veterinary examination after tiring to be beaten in excess of 58 metres. No abnormalities were detected and the gelding has been placed on his last chance to race competitively.
LIFEOFBRIAN NZ underwent a post-race veterinary examination after tiring to be beaten in excess of 174 metres. No abnormalities were detected and the gelding has been stood down until the completion of a satisfactory trial.
RACE 3 – TRAINERS ENCOURAGEMENT PACE – 2200 METRES
THE GARDENER was out of position at the start and has been placed out of the draw in future mobile events.
WHEY BETTER worked forward in the middle stages to race outside the leader before gaining a trail in the middle stages.
STEVIE JOLT was caught wide early before working forward three wide to race outside the leader.
PINK PONDER gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 39 metres.
LOYOLA TRIOS gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 41 metres.
Driver L Older, (IMPULZE) was advised to modify his whip action to ensure no breaches of the whip rule.
RACE 4 – CHARTLEY ESTATE PACE–1680 METRES
IMAGE OF STARZZZ was out of position at the start and has been placed on its last chance in the draw.
THE SITUATION NZ was caught wide early before restraining to the rear of the field.
MY ULTIMATE MAJOR gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 39 metres.
Driver H Van Dongen (CHRIS BE QUICK) was advised to modify her whip action to ensure no breaches of the whip rule.
SLINGSHOT underwent a post-race veterinary examination after breaking at the 400 metre mark. No abnormalities were detected and the gelding has been placed on its last chance to race truly.
RACE 5 – CARLTON DRAUGHT STAKES–2200 METRES
SOLO SYNC refused to score up at the first attempt and caused a false start. The gelding was then out of position at the second attempt and will be placed out of the draw in future mobile events
WESTRAY was out of position at the start and has been placed on its last chance in the mobile draw.
SOLO SYNC galloped racing to the first turn and has been placed on his last chance to race truly.
GUENEVERES MADONNA was caught wide early before restraining to the rear of the field.
Racing down the back straight the first time WESTRAY hung out when being restrained and locked wheels with GUENEVERES MADONNA and broke briefly when the wheels became unlocked.
A warning was placed on WESTRAY which raced greenly during the event.
GOING GREAT GUNS worked forward three wide in the middle stages to race outside the leader.
THEUGLYSISTER was detained on course for 2.5 hours to enable blood samples to be obtained.
RACE 6 –IMPRESS PRINT PACE–2200 METRES
After beginning satisfactorily EARL JUJON has been reinstated in the mobile draw.
CASTLE RETREAT tired to be beaten in excess of 52 metres and has been placed on its last chance to race competitively.
JUMPING JOLT gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 43 metres.
LYNRYD SKYNRYD NZ underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no significant findings.
TAROONA BROMAC NZ underwent a post-race veterinary examination after tiring to be beaten in excess of 83 metres. No abnormalities were detected and the gelding has been placed on his last chance to race competitively.
EQUITY STRIDE was detained on course for 2.5 hours to enable blood samples to be obtained.
RACE 7 – FAITHFUL PARK STUD STAKES–1680 METRES
This race was delayed for 2 minutes owing to a veterinary examination being performed on MONTANA LAD NZ. The gelding was passed fit to race.
BEAM ME UP CHOPPER broke in the score up on the first occasion and caused a false start. The gelding has been placed out of the draw in future mobile events.
After an inquiry into the reasons why SCOTLYNN BEACH NZ (M Jones) contacted the sulky wheel of HEZ RAZOR SHARP (J Duggan) and galloped racing into the first turn, Mr Duggan was charged and pled guilty to a charge issued under AHRR165(1)(b). Particulars of the charge were that racing into the first turn Mr Duggan shifted his horse down toward the running line when not sufficiently clear of the front legs of SCOTLYNN BEACH NZ causing that horse to contact his wheel and gallop. Mr Duggan was suspended for a 3 race dates which will commence at midnight on 13th November and expire midnight 23rd November.
MONTANA LAD NZ broke his lugging pole during the event. The gear was inspected and found to be in good condition.
KRISTAL was held up early before gaining clear running in the home straight
KIVIK obtained an inside run in the home straight the final time.
TEARAWAY DIAMOND hung out under pressure in the home straight the final time.
MONTANA FLASH underwent a post-race veterinary examination after tiring to be beaten in excess of 53 metres. No abnormalities were detected and the gelding has been stood down until the completion of a satisfactory trial.
RACE 8 – ELDERSLIE HORSE CARE STAKES–2200 METRES
COOL SCOOTER NZ was restrained to the rear of the field after the start.
ONEOFTHELADS was caught wide early before working forward to race outside the leader.
KENYA NZ worked forward three wide to take over the lead in the middle stages then racing into the back straight the final time the gelding jumped a marker peg severely checking EMJAYS BLACK CHIP, SPORTY BEN, PRIDDY SUBLIME and MAJOR ASSASSIN which broke as a result. A warning has been placed on the manners of this horse.
Driver T Ford (TARLETON RILEY) was fined the sum of $200 after pleading guilty to a charge under AHRR156(2)(a). Particulars of the charge were that she used her whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion.
RACE 9 – TASSIE GOLDEN APPLE RACE MEETING SATURDAY 3 DECEMBER PACE–2200 METRES
All clear was held on this race when Driver L Older (LESYA), (runner up in the event) indicated to the All Clear Steward that he wished to view the official replays. After viewing the films Mr Older lodged a protest against the winner JAWBREAKER (M Ford), alleging interference in the home straight. After taking evidence from both drivers and acting on their own observations Stewards dismissed the protest and All Clear was given on the Judge’s numbers. At a subsequent inquiry driver M Ford was fined the sum of $200 under AHRR168(1)(a). Particulars of the charge were that Stewards believed that Mr Ford had not made sufficient effort to stop JAWBREAKER shifting up the track in the home straight.
FORGOT THE WALLET worked forward to take over the lead in the middle stages before obtaining a trail when MOST PERFECT MAJOR worked to the lead.

An inquiry was held into the reasons for ROCKOWSROAD being checked racing into the first turn. Evidence was taken from Drivers H Van Dongen (ROCKOWSROAD), N Ford (EUROKING) and L Older (LESYA). It was established that after all three showing gate speed ROCKOWSROAD was tightened for room by EUROKING
(N Ford) who was unable to relieve the pressure to his inside due to racing in restricted room with LESYA (L Older) racing to his outside. Due to the quality of the available replays no action was taken against any drivers but all drivers were reminded of their obligations when racing in restricted room.
RACE 10 – ELDERS INSURANCE LAUNCESTON PACE–1680 METRES
WRITTEN IN SILK showed gate speed to lead before surrendering the lead to TURQUOISE STRIDE who worked forward to take over that position. WRITTEN IN SILK then gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 46 metres.
TURQUOISE STRIDE underwent a post-race veterinary examination after tiring to be beaten in excess of 93 metres. The examination revealed some soreness in the hindquarters and the gelding has been stood down until the receipt of a veterinary clearance.
MAJOR DAVVIN was caught wide early before working forward to race outside the leader.
