RACE 1 – TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY PACE - 1758metres
EASTBRO TEX – Near the 600 metres locked wheels with SHOOIN which hung in.
WARIEDA BOY – Near the 300 metres became unbalanced and galloped. A warning was issued.
ROCKNROLL SASS – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
SHOOIN – Near the 600 metres hung in and locked wheels with EASTBRO TEX.
RACE 2 – HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAITLYN WARD PACE – 1758metres
MILLYS PRINCE – Over-raced during the middle stages of the event.
NAPOLI NIGHTS – Post-race swab sample.
NEED A PENNY – Checked near the 1400 metres when the pace eased.
GRINFORAWIN – Pre-race blood sample.
PARK RUN – Out of position at the start. A warning was issued. Near the 1400 metres checked when the pace eased. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 3 – HAPPY BIRTHDAY CONNOR WARD PACE – 2147metres
METALLICA MAN – Pre-race blood sample. Driver B. Harpley was fined $100 under Rule 162(1)(y) for failing to adhere to the minimum time standards. Post-race swab sample.
OUR MODERN MINNIE – Hung out rounding the first turn resulting in SWEDISH MEATBALLS being tightened for room between FORGED IN FIRE and SWEDISH MEATBALLS.
SWEDISH MEATBALLS – Rounding the first turn tightened for room between FORGED IN FIRE which shifted in slightly and OUR MODERN MINNIE which hung out. Driver A. Pitt pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 231(2) for misconduct in that following the running of this race he misconducted himself by directing inappropriate comments towards Driver A. Dean. Driver A. Pitt was fined $200.
MY GIRL LUCY – Near the 700 metres became unbalanced and galloped. A warning was issued.
RACE 4 – LEETON SOLDIERS CLUB PACE – 1758metres
SASHA – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
LIFE GETS BETTER – Broke in the latter stages of the score up and was out of position at the start. A warning was issued.
CALL ME DRAGON – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.
TASHS SPARTAN - Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.
ROLL ALONG JANE - Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.
RACE 5 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1758metres
RUSTY EL – Stewards questioned Driver J. Painting in regards to the driving tactics adopted on the mare during the middle stages of the event in particular the reasons for increasing the tempo during that stage of the race. J. Painting stated that after finding the lead the mare had a tendency to over-race and despite his efforts the mare increased the tempo of the event. J. Painting further added that he recommended to connections that gear changes would be required prior to racing next starts to assist with the mare not over-racing. Stewards noted the comments.

RACE 6 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1758metres
CONROD KENZE – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as the mare is 12 years of age. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.
BETTARUN – Near the 500 metres became unbalanced and galloped. A warning was issued.
MASTABLASTA – Pre-race blood sample.
KNIGHTS KISS – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 7 – SOUTHERN CENTRAL ENGINEERING PACE – 1758metres
COMPLICATED – Stewards approved the driving of B. Harpley replacing L. Clement as L. Clement was ill. Driver L. Clement was advised that a medical certificate would be required prior to driving again.
WHATTA STICKY BEAK – Stewards questioned Driver J. Painting in regards to the performance of the gelding which weakened over the final 300 metres to be beaten in excess of 30 metres. Driver J. Painting stated that the gelding wasn’t suited to racing outside the lead and over-raced throughout the event which proved detrimental. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
KAMIKAZE SCOOB – Stewards questioned Driver E. Bartley in regards to the performance of the gelding. E. Bartley stated that after beginning well she considered working forward however she observed WHATTA STICKY BEAK over-racing outside the lead and therefore she restrained to the rear of the field. E. Bartley further added that once racing at the rear of the field the gelding wasn’t suited to the tempo of the event and considering all those factors she wasn’t entirely disappointed with the performance. Stewards noted the comments.
TOTALLY SHATTERED – Pre-race blood sample.
FORANEYE – Driver J. Locke was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that near the 500 metres he shifted his runner wider on the track and as a result WHITE POINTER was checked and raced roughly. Post-race swab sample.
WHITE POINTER – Near the 500 metres was checked and raced roughly.
RACE 8 – BOOTS SAND & GRAVEL MAIDEN PACE – 1758metres
EPIC ERNIE – A false start was declared on the first occasion when the gelding hung out resulting in YOO TRISH being checked. The gelding was placed on its last chance in the draw. Stewards questioned Driver A. Pitt in regards to the performance of the gelding which weakened to be beaten 49 metres. A. Pitt stated that following the false start the gelding was quite stirred up and as a result over-raced throughout the event and as such failed to finish the race off. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
EXCELERADO – Driver R. Campbell pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(b)(i) in that near the 900 metres he shifted his runner wider on the track and as a result CHOCOLATE DELIGHT which was racing to his outside was forced three wide. R. Campbell’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 7 days to commence at midnight 5th July 2022. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account R. Campbell’s guilty plea and his extremely good driving record.
