STEWARDS REPORT FOR KILMORE

Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

 

RACE 1 – MC SECURITY 2YO PACE (1690 MS)

Race start time amended to 5.35pm due to the delayed arrival of the on track medical team.

A warning was issued against Blackmirra which hung out during the score up, inconveniencing Vee Em Gee Macray. 

Blackmirra hung out during the middle stages.

Aureus utilised the sprint lane in the home straight.

Vee Em Gee Macray broke gait when clear of interference in the home straight and has now been placed on its last chance to race truly.

RACE 2 HANSON CLEANING SERVICES VICBRED PACE (1690 MS)

Mister Uptown broke gait when clear of interference at the 1300m and trailed the field.  Given the recent racing record of the gelding, Mister Uptown has been stood down from racing until the completion of one satisfactory trial.

Stewards queried Justin Brewin, trainer of The Kew Legend ($5) regarding the improved performance of the gelding.  Mr.Brewin stated he wasn’t surprised by the win of The Kew Legend which appreciated the drop in grade and had recently trialled well after recovering from a foot abscess.

Stewards queried Chris Alford, driver of Huey Trevor ($3.6 fav) regarding the performance of the gelding which finished in 8th position beaten 35m.  Mr.Alford stated Huey Trevor hung in on the final turn and failed to run on from that point.  A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormality.

Regality underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormality.

RACE 3 – TERRY WAIT MEMORIAL PACE (2180 MS)

Lester was a late scratching at 5.25pm on Stewards Permission.

Ideal Investment was examined by the club’s veterinarian prior to and following the event as a result of the gelding having in excess of 200 race starts. No abnormalities were revealed on either examination.

Jasperine broke in the score up and was out of position at the start.  The mare will now be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.

Jasperine pulled hard during the middle stages and was held up for clear running on the final turn.

Killara Insanity was held up for clear running on the final turn and in the home straight.

Alex Ashwood, the driver of Pete Mitchell, was cautioned for allowing his whip to project outside of the confines of his sulky in the home straight.

RACE 4 –TAB 3YO PACE (2180 MS)

No reportable racing incidents.

RACE 5 –BERALDO COFFEE PACE (2180 MS)

American Legacy NZ pulled hard during the middle stages before breaking gait when clear of interference entering the home straight, checking The Rocknroll King NZ (broke), Urus NZ and Major Manbar (broke).  American Legacy NZ has now been placed on its last chance to race truly.

Arden Roanoke NZ utilised the sprint lane in the home straight.

RACE 6 – MOMENTUM GAMING PACE PACE (2180 MS)

Mick Armstrong, trainer of Eezee Street was issued a caution for failing to produce the assessment card for the mare.

A false start was declared when Eezee Street raced rough in the score up and checked Didshedoit.  Eezee Street will now be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.

Beryl tired from the 800m (beaten 221m, last), checking Eezee Street, Giglio (broke) and Coveffe Hustler.  A post-race veterinary examination of the mare revealed a slow recovery.  Beryl has been stood down from racing until the completion of one satisfactory trial.

A warning was issued against the performance of Double Happiness which tired from the 400m (checking Eezee Street) to be beaten 92m into 10th placing.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a slow recovery.

RACE 7 – JET ROOFING PACE (1690 MS)

Dabyminga jumped an object at the 500m and inconvenienced Polly Peachum while checking Luella NZ and Shardonant.

RACE 8 – CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES PACE (2180 MS)

Treacheroustimes broke in the score up and was out of position at the start.  The gelding trailed the field and will now be placed outside of the draw in future mobile start events.

Keayang Balboa pulled hard during the early and middle stages.

RACE 9 – BUDS & BRANCHES FLORIST PACE (1690 MS)

Our Cheeky Devil shifted out under pressure in the home straight.

Connor Ronan, driver of Our Cheeky Devil was issued a caution for allowing his right foot to slip from the sulky footrest in the home straight.

RACE 10 – C&M BUILD GROUP TROTTERS HANDICAP (2150 SS)

Whatwillbeewillbee NZ was fractious and delayed the start.  The gelding will now be placed right outside of the draw in future stand start events.

The all clear was delayed to allow Jack Laugher, driver of Electrojet to view footage of the start.  Mr.Laugher queried the starting position of Whatwillbeewillbee NZ in that the horse was not facing forwards when the race began.  Stewards were satisfied a fair start was affected and the all clear was given on the judges placings.

RACE 11 – WORLDS BEST HOOF OIL TROT (2180 MS)

Seeyouinmydreams was a late scratching at 8.40pm on Vets Advice.

Champagne Charley was out of position at the start and will continue to be placed right outside of the draw in future mobile start events.
