STEWARDS REPORT FOR KILMORE

Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted

General

Stewards intend to speak with licensed stable hand Paul Hodgson in regards to comments made on social media. This matter was adjourned to a time & date to be fixed.

RACE 1 BUDS & BRANCHES FLORIST PACE (1690 MS)

Good Feeling underwent a pre & post-race veterinary examination in accordance with the HRV Horse Welfare Policy due to the gelding having started in excess of 200 race starts. Neither examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

The start of the this event was aborted during the early stages of the score up when Zulu Zane (Craig Hoban) broke gait during the early stages of the score up and shifted out abruptly making contact with the outside fence dislodging Mr Hoban from the sulky and continuing on driverless and made heavy contact to the sulky of Princess Chilla (Robert Walters) a short distance later which dislodged Mr Walters from the sulky when attempting to avoid the driverless Zulu Zane.

Zulu Zane was declared a late scratching at 4:55pm on veterinary advice.

Princess Chilla was declared a late scratching at 5:01pm by order of the stewards.

Zulu Zane underwent a veterinary examination which revealed bruising to the nearside hind and mid tibia. Zulu Zane was stood from racing for a period of ten (10) days on veterinary advice. Zulu Zane will now be placed right outside the draw in future mobile start events & stood down until trialling to the satisfaction of stewards on one (1) occasion.

Princess Chilla underwent a veterinary examination which failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Craig Hoban & Robert Walters were examined by the on course medical officials and cleared of any serious injuries.

This event was rescheduled to start at 5:06pm.

Hair Razor (Ross Graham) failed to gain clear running for the entire length of the home straight.

RACE 2 JET ROOFING TROT (2180 MS)

This race was rescheduled to start at 5:25pm.

Brent Lilley, trainer of Spotlight was issued a caution for the late declaration of Brent Murphy upon the gelding.

Paris Faith (Jason Lee) broke gait during the score up and was out of position when the start was effected. Paris Faith will continue to be drawn wide in future mobile start events.

Tiara Stride (Greg Sugars) pulled hard throughout the event.

Paris Faith broke gait clear of interference approaching the 800m.

Josh Duggan, driver of Kyvalley Paint ($3.50 fav) which finished in 3rd position beaten half neck between second & third position was queried into his lack of vigour over the concluding stages. Mr Duggan advised he had been driving the colt with vigour during the early & middle stages of the home straight however felt the colt was not responding inside the 50m and that Reigning Lillies (James Herbertson) was going to beat his runner home. After viewing the available replays, Stewards could not be sufficiently satisfied that Mr Duggan’s actions had affected his finishing position and therefore Mr Duggan was reminded of his obligations to drive out right to the finish.

Chris Alford, driver of Bee Bee Beroc ($8.00) which yielded ground rapidly from the 500m to finish in 9th and last position beaten 115.6m was queried into the seemingly poor performance of the colt. Mr Alford advised the colt to be disappointing and failed to race in a genuine manner and it would be the stables intention to have Bee Bee Beroc gelded and sent for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities

RACE 3 – C&M BUILD GROUP PACE (1690 MS)

Greg Sugars, driver of Lola Montez ($2.00) which finished in 7th position beaten 17.4m was queried into the overall performance of the mare. Mr Sugars advised the mare to be disappointing and was placed under pressure a significant distance from the finish despite the final 800m being recorded in 56.7 seconds.

Connections of Shallow Beach were advised the rig would be detained on course for a post-race blood sample to be obtained three (3) hours subsequently from this event.

Stewards intend to review all wagering in regards to this event.

RACE 4 – NEW LIFE LASER THERAPY PACE (1690 MS)

Wonderforce underwent a pre & post-race veterinary examination in accordance with the HRV Horse Welfare Policy due the gelding attaining the age of 12 years or older. Neither examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Platinum Prince (Ellen Tormey) pulled hard during the middle stages of the event.

Connections of Keepcrackingjokes were advised the mare would be detained on course for three (3) hours subsequently from this event for a post-race blood sample due to the mare being on the HRV Elevated TC02 policy.

RACE 5 - CHYGAIN SUPER AMINO 66 PACE (2180 MS)

Van Gogh (James Herbertson) was held up during the early stages of the home straight.

Banksofthemurray underwent a post-race veterinary examination in accordance with the HRV Horse Welfare Policy due the colt being engaged to compete the following night at Geelong 15th July 2022 which revealed no abnormalities.

RACE 6 – CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES PACE (1690 MS)

Jess Tubbs, trainer of Gilligans Island NZ was issued a caution for presenting the gelding in gear which had not been correctly declared.

Tactical Response (Jordan Chibnall) broke gait during the early stages of the score up however was in position when the start was effected. A warning was issued against the gelding’s barrier manners.

Leigh Sutton, driver of Shoshone Brave was fined the sum of $200 under AHR Rule 156(2)(a) for applying the whip to the gelding with more than a wrist flicking motion inside the final 300m.

RACE 7 – MOMENTUM GAMING PACE FINAL (1690 MS)

Stewards approved Conor Crook as the driver of Coveffe Hustler due to Robert Walters being indisposed.

Cocorocks (Mark Pitt) pulled hard during the middle stages of the event.

Snazola (Michael Bellman) hang outwards from the 800m onwards.

Mark Pitt, driver of Cocorocks ($4.80) which finished in 7th position beaten 15.8m after racing outside the leader from the 1300m was queried into the overall performance of the mare. Mr Pitt advised the mare failed to compete in genuine manner from the 400m onwards.

RACE 8 – MC SECURITY CLAIMING PACE (2180 MS)

Mighty Flying Art NZ (Jack Laugher) & Would You Mind NZ (Ellen Tormey) both pulled hard during the middle stages of the event.

Mark Pitt, driver of Struve ($4.80) which finished in 7th and last position beaten 44.6m was queried into the seemingly poor performance of the entire. Mr Pitt advised the entire to be extremely disappointing and was at a loss to explain the performance other than Struve was placed under pressure from the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination was attempted however aborted when the entire had exited the course.

Diamonds N Cash NZ was claimed out of this event by Ben Yole.

RACE 9 – BERALDO COFFEE MAIDEN TROT (1690 MS)

Get Up Early underwent a pre & post-race veterinary examination in accordance with the HRV Horse Welfare Policy due the mare having not started in the preceding 12 months. Neither examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Conor Crook, trainer of Imasocialbutterfly was issued a caution for failing to have the mare’s registration certificate available for inspection.

Bundalong Bruiser (Chris Alford) broke gait shortly after the start was effected inconveniencing Imasocialbutterfly & Get Up Early. Bundalong Bruiser will now be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile start events.

Bundalong Bruiser pulled hard during the middle stages of the event.

Whats The Tea (Ross Graham) broke gait clear of interference passing the 800m. Whats The Tea will now be placed on its last chance to race truly.

Bundalong Bruiser broke gait clear of interference passing the 400m.

Josh Dickie, driver of Aldebaran Gwan advised his sulky seat slipped passing the 400m resulting in him having difficulty maintaining his feet in the sulky footrests. Mr Dickie was advised to take the corrective measures to avoid any reoccurrence.

RACE 10 – WORLDS BEST HOOF OIL 3YO MAIDEN TROT (2180 MS)

Brookies Babe (Tony Xiriha) broke gait during the score up and was out of position when the start was effected. Brookies Babe broke gait shortly after the start was effected and will now be excluded from the barrier draw in future mobile start events.
