STEWARDS REPORT FOR KILMORE

Trainers with multiple horses engaged in any given race were questioned as to the intended driving tactics to be adopted.
RACE 1 – WORLDS BEST HOOF OIL MAIDEN TROT (2180 MS)
Captain Craywood underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with the HRV Animal Welfare Policy, having not started in a race in 12 or more months with neither check revealing any obvious abnormalities.
Mynamesgraham was out of position when the start was effected and will continue to be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events.
Benny The Gun was out of position when the start was effected and will now be placed on his last chance in the draw.
Wicked Liquor underwent a post-race veterinary examination having returned to the parade ring with blood in the region of the mare’s mouth. The check revealed that Wicked Liquor had bitten her tongue and no treatment or standdown period was required.
Tenlilfonzies ($101) raced roughly under pressure, then tired to be beaten 52.4m and a warning was issued.
Captain Graywood broke gait free of interference twice in running and will now be placed on his last chance to race truly.
RACE 2 – TAB 3YO MAIDEN PACE (2180 MS)
Jack Laugher was an approved late driver change on Just Burnforu, replacing Chris Alford (not available).
John Yeomans, trainer of Just Burnforu was cautioned for presenting the colt to race in gear that was not accurately recorded.
Tinman was out of position at the start and a warning was issued.
Macs A Dude sustained a near-side flat tyre after the start.
Dancingonstarlight was held up and unable to obtain clear running rounding the home turn on the final occasion before utilizing the sprint lane.
Still Playin NZ was held up and unable to obtain clear running at various occasions over the last 200m.
Jack Laugher, driver of Just Burnforu ($2.60 favourite and beaten 23.5m) was questioned regarding the overall performance of the colt. Mr Laugher explained that Just Burnforu would derive benefit from the outing given the colt was first-up since February 2022. Just Burnforu underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed a slow recovery.
RACE 3 – MC SECURITY PACE (2180 MS)
Miyagi Boy broke after the start and will now be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events.
Keepcrackingjokes was held up and unable to obtain clear running over the concluding stages.
Playnice hung in under pressure rounding the home turn on the final occasion when driver Tayla French activated gear, contacting several marker pegs before utilizing the sprint lane.
RACE 4 – C&M BUILD GROUP TROT (2180 MS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 5 - HANSON CLEANING SERVICES PACE (1690 MS)
Jordan Chibnall replaced Corey Bell (indisposed) as the driver of Janjuc.
Chris Alford, driver of Captain Maastricht was cautioned for not having the gelding in position at the candy pole during the score-up.
Dalvey Robyn NZ pulled hard in early part of the score-up, was out of position when the start was effected, raced roughly on release point and will now be placed on his last chance in the draw.
Casting Shadow pulled hard at various stages of the event and was then held up and unable to obtain clear running rounding the home turn on the final occasion.
Janjuc was held up and unable to obtain clear running rounding the home turn on the final occasion before utillzing the sprint lane.
Chris Alford, driver of Captain Maastricht ($2.00 favourite and beaten 16.2m) was questioned regarding the overall performance of the gelding. Mr Alford could offer no tangible explanation for the performance and conveyed his disappointment in the effort. Mr Alford added that the stable may conduct blood screening analysis in the coming days and Stewards intend to follow up with connections as to the gelding’s recovery.
RACE 6 – TELLURIAN WINES PACE (2180 MS)
Chubby Checker NZ shifted out under pressure in the early part of the home straight on the final occasion.
Lady Lani ($71) commenced to tire in the back straight on the final occasion, was beaten 58.2m and a warning was issued. Mongiana was inconvenienced by the tiring Lady Lani and was then held up and unable to obtain clear running rounding the home turn on the final occasion.
Stewards questioned drivers Nathan Jack (Iconic Major) and Josh Duggan (Belittled) regarding an incident rounding the first turn, where it appeared Iconic Major contacted the inside sulky wheel of Belittled and was subsequently checked and broke gait. Stewards determined via evidence put forward by both drivers, viewing the official race replays and their own observations that Mr Jack drove Iconic Major (10) along after the start, from the second row in an effort to establish a position on the peg line underneath Mirakuru (Steve Cleave). Mr Duggan was clear to angle Belittled (4) inward from his front row draw and establish a position on the peg line in front of Iconic Major yet when Mr Jack attempted to restrain the gelding, Iconic Major was slow to respond and subsequently advanced forward onto the sulky wheel of Belittled. Stewards determined that neither driver was blameworthy in the circumstances and did not proceed with the matter.
Iconic Major underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed the gelding to have sustained a small wound to the off-front lateral heel bulb with no stand down period required.
RACE 7 – BUDS & BRANCHES FLORIST TROT (2180 MS)
Alluring Tyron NZ was out of position when the start was effected and will now be placed on her last chance in the draw.
Electrojet broke after the start and will now be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events. The mare trailed the field thereafter.
John Caldow, driver of Sangreal was cautioned for loose reining over the concluding stages.
Lochie Cook, driver of Imamaorijet ($5.00 and beaten 28.4m) was questioned regarding the overall performance of the mare. Mr Cook explained that connections had been unable to find a suitable race for the mare in the preceding month and as such will derive benefit from the outing. Imamaorijet underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed a slow recovery.
Keayang Xena underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed rubbing to the mare’s near-side hip with no stand down period required.
RACE 8 – BERALDO COFFEE PACE (1690 MS)
Illawong Jovial was held up and unable to obtain clear running rounding the home turn on the final occasion before utilizing the sprint lane.
Bettor Be Lively was held up and unable to obtain clear running rounding the home turn on the final occasion.
Rockntommy Rulz was held up and unable to obtain clear running rounding the home turn on the final occasion.
RACE 9 – JET ROOFING PACE (1690 MS)
Robert Walters, driver of Coveffe Hustler was cautioned for not having the mare in position when the start was effected.
Josh Duggan, driver of Digyourheelsin reported that the tongue tie displaced during the early part of the score-up. Digyourheelsin then hung in for the remainder of the score up, yet given the circumstances, no action was taken against the mare. Princess Chilla who was drawn to the inside of Digyourheels in was inconvenienced and not able to fulfill her position on the gate when the start was effected.
Silky Smooth Excuse NZ was slowly away.
Smiling Shandy was held up and unable to obtain clear running rounding the home turn on the final occasion before utilizing the sprint lane.
Semiramide NZ was held up and unable to obtain clear running rounding the home turn on the final occasion.
RACE 10 – CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES PACE (1690 MS)
Southern GNP NZ underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with the HRV Animal Welfare Policy having attained 200 or more lifetime race starts with neither check revealing any obvious abnormalities.
Really Under Fire underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with the HRV Animal Welfare Policy having attained 12 or more years of age and 200 or more lifetime race starts with neither check revealing any obvious abnormalities.
Wonderforce underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with the HRV Animal Welfare Policy having attained 12 or more years of age with neither check revealing any obvious abnormalities.
Southern GNP NZ was held up and unable to obtain clear running for most of the home straight on the final occasion.
Jasperine (third over the line) broke under pressure free of interference over the concluding stages, continued over the line in the incorrect gait and was being covered by Wonderforce (fourth over the line) and Hidden Figure (fifth over the line) at the time. As such, the activation of VLR 155A(2), and Jasperine was placed behind the aforementioned runners, with Wonderforce promoted to third, Hidden Figure promoted to fourth, and the all clear given on the new numbers of 4 – 2 – 6 – 7. Jasperine was placed on her last chance to race truly for breaking gait.
Kevin Jnr Weidenbach, driver of Well Well (winner) was fined the sum of $100 under AHRR 156(3) for using the whip in an unapproved manner, on more occasions than are permitted over the final 200m. In adopting this approach, Stewards noted that Mr Weidenbach had a clear recent record under this rule.
RACE 11 NEW LIFE LASER THERAPY PACE (1690 MS)
Border Cross underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations in accordance with the HRV Animal Welfare Policy having attained 200 or more lifetime race starts with neither check revealing any obvious abnormalities.
Brad Chisholm replaced Corey Bell (indisposed) as the driver of Josie Ella.
Nathan Jack, driver of The Dux ($3.90 and beaten 11.2m) was questioned regarding his driving tactics on the gelding. Mr Jack explained that The Dux led at Bendigo (20 October 2022) and failed to finish off in a competitive manner, and with speed drawn either side of his drive in tonight’s event was of the view that it would be in the gelding's best interests to be driven conservatively off the gate. Mr Jack added that as Killara Insanity commenced to yield ground rapidly from approx. the 600m, he elected to save ground along the inside as opposed to extricating around that runner and attempting to improve into the race wider on the track. Mr Jack further explained that The Dux was then held up and unable to obtain clear running behind Didn’t I rounding the home turn on the final occasion, before closing off satisfactorily over the concluding stages. Stewards noted Mr Jack's explanation.
Killara Insanity yielded ground rapidly from approx. the 600m. Killara Insanity underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed the gelding to be afflicted with atrial fibrillation and as such the activation of AHRR 101(C)(2) and will now be stood down for 14 days, stood down pending the completion of an electrocardiograph and stood down pending the completion of one (1) satisfactory trial.
RACE 12 – GRAYS BENDIGO PACE (1690 MS)
Brad Chisholm replaced Corey Bell (indisposed) as the driver of Nifty Jolt.
Twenty Two Karat broke in the score up and will now be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events. The mare trailed the field thereafter.
Magnified hung in during the score-up was out of position when the start was effected and will now be placed on his last chance in the draw. Nicolescruiser, who was drawn to the inside of Magnified was inconvenienced.
Paddy Mach was held up and unable to obtain clear running rounding the home turn on the final occasion.
Nicolescruiser hung in under pressure rounding the home turn on the final occasion.
Ardent Bliss ($18) tired to be beaten 67.9m and a warning was issued.
