Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
All engaged drivers at tonight’s meeting were subjected to rapid antigen tests being supervised by the Stewards prior to fulfilling their drives.
RACE 1 – FOLLOW @GLOUCESTERPARK ON TWITTER PACE (2130MS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 2 – BEAU RIVAGE XMAS IN JULY PACE DIV.2 (2130MS)
GLOWING REPORT (L. Harper) – Raced roughly at various stages throughout. Driver L. Harper reported the gelding was cross firing.
JUSTLIKE TURBO (S. Suvaljko) – Reinsperson S. Suvaljko was advised to refrain from looking back during and particularly at the conclusion of a race.
RACE 3 – BRIDGE BAR OPEN 2.25PM THIS SATURDAY PACE DIV.1 (2130MS)
A false start was called when IM THE BEST NZ (C. Voak) broke its head check during the score-up. As the gelding had struck its head on the mobile barrier arm it underwent a Veterinary examination and was passed fit to take its place in the race. At the second attempt IM THE BEST NZ slipped its crupper and required a tail tie to be fitted. The field were again turned away from the barrier at the third attempt due to the mobile barrier not being fully set to start.
ROCKSTAR REBEL (A. De Campo) – Extremely fractious in the pre-race circling area.
General: This race started 16 minutes after the scheduled time consequently Race 4 was amended by 5 minutes with start time being 6.50pm.
RACE 4 – STEELOS OPEN EVERY RACE MEETING PACE (2536MS)
RASCAL (T. Wheeler) – Reinsperson T. Wheeler was reprimanded under R163(1)(c)(i) and advised to take appropriate action when his drives hang in and race inside marker pegs. Stewards were satisfied that the result of the race should stand despite RASCAL racing inside the pegs on the home turn for the final occasion.
RACE 5 – STEELOS REEF AND RIB PACE (2536MS)
THEJEWELINHEREYE (K. Symington) – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have material from the track in its offside eye which was treated by the on course Veterinary Surgeon.
RACE 6 – XMAS IN JULY BOOK NOW FILLIES & MARES PACE DIV.1 (2130MS)
IRISH COFFEE NZ (C. Peterson) – Reinsperson C. Peterson was reprimanded under R163(1)(a)(i) for crossing LOVE AND KISSES NZ (C. Voak) racing into the front straight on the first occasion, allowing minimal room only.
RACE 7 – TALKING TROTS PODCAST FILLIES & MARES PACE DIV.2 (2130MS)
MISS SERENADE NZ (E. Suvaljko) – Broke gait as the start was effected. Will be placed outside the draw in future mobile barrier events.
RACE 8 – ONE OUT ONE BACK ON TABRADIO 3YO WESTBRED FILLIES PREFERRED MAIDEN PACE (2130MS)
NOWUSEEMERUNIN (A. De Campo) – Reinsperson A. De Campo was reprimanded under R162 (1)(www)(a) for allowing his horse to shift up the track over the concluding stages inconveniencing ALLABOUTLEGS (D. Egerton-Green) which had been held up for clear running.
