RACE 1 – TROTSYND FILLIES AND MARES PACE (2130MS)
VIVERE DAMORE (G. Hall Jnr) - Had a tendency to hang outwards when cornering through various stages of the event.
MISS BOUDICA (M. Grantham) - Held up for clear running through the early stages of the home straight.
RACE 2 – MANNING- G1 WINNER PACE (2130MS)
PINNY TIGER (M. Grantham) - Contacted its own sulky for the majority of the race.
GREGARMY (J. Young)- Mistrode at various stages through the race and tired over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have no abnormalities.
General: Stewards questioned the Trainer of DEEORSE (S. Suvaljko) Ms D. Padberg in relation to the apparent improved performance of the gelding. Trainer D. Padberg advised that the speed of the race tonight had suited the gelding as it was able to get a clear run late, as opposed to recent starts where it had to work early and was held up for clear running. Stewards noted Ms Padberg’s explanation.
RACE 3 – VALEDICTORIAN- G1 WINNER PACE (2130MS)
BETTOR BE LIVELY (S. Suvaljko) - Driver reported that the murphy blind was pulled to the side resulting in the gelding laying inward for the majority of the race.
RACE 4 – WWW.JAPPING.COM.AU CONDITIONED PACE (2130MS)
IDEAL AGENT NZ (R. Warwick) - When questioned on the performance, Driver R. Warwick advised that the circumstances of the event, particularly the fast middle sections of 56.2, had not suited the horse when positioned leading in the one wide line.
RACE 5 – TROTSYND 3YO DIAMOND CLASSIC (G2) (2130MS)
WONDERFUL TO FLY (S. Young) - Driver fined $200 under HR162(1)(j) for failing to maintain his position behind the barriers prior to the start.

ARTISTIC SCRIBE (C. Voak) - Checked and taken outwards into the moving line when racing out of the back straight on the second occasion.
SEE THE WORLD (L. Harper) - Inconvenienced when the pace had reduced marginally, racing out of the back straight on the second occasion.

RACE 6 – KNOW WHEN TO RUN PACE (2536MS)
TO FAST TOO FURIOUS (N. Turvey) - The gelding underwent a veterinary examination after the race which revealed the gelding to be slow to recover. Trainer Mr R. Williams advised that the gelding had over-raced in various stages of the event which placed the gelding at a disadvantage.
WHILE THEY PRAY (L. Harper) - Over raced when finding a position outside the leader and as a result the driver elected to work forward and obtain the lead when racing in the back straight on the second occasion.
RACE 7 – TROTSYND – G1 SYNDICATORS PACE (2503SS)
TRIROYALE BRIGADE NZ (K. Symington) - Broke gait after the start was effected and will be placed out of the draw for future standing starts.
MUFASA (D. Egerton-Green) - Driver D. Egerton-Green was fined $100 under HR 168(1)(a) for allowing his drive to contact the sulky wheel of MAJOR MUCHA (A. De Campo).
General: Stewards inquired into the reasons for Driver K Symington dropping his foot when racing into the front straight on the final occasion causing contact to the hind leg of TRIROYALE BRIGADE NZ. Driver K Symington put forward that he was in the cart of Trainer R. Zec and that he noticed the stirrups were too long for him and when coming into the front straight his right foot slipped and dropped momentarily. Stewards when reviewing the vision were satisfied that when the foot dropped it was sudden and did not appear to be a deliberate act to touch the hocks but consistent with a slipped foot. Stewards after considering the matter, were satisfied that the drop was accidental. Driver K Symington has an unblemished record in relation to this matter but was put on notice and reminded of his obligations under the rule as well as the seriousness of a breach if the action was found to be deliberate. He was also advised that if there are issues outside the normal that occur during a race such as issues with the cart that officials should be immediately notified, or attempts made to rectify the problem prior to the race commencing.
RACE 8 –TROTSYND- TRAINED BY JUSTIN PRENTICE PACE (2130MS)
CAVEMAN (S. Suvaljko) - Stewards cautioned driver S. Suvaljko and advised him that in future he is to make every effort to ensure he gives his drive every chance to win after he elected to salute prior to the race concluding whilst still in close contention for the winning position.
RACE 9 – HAS NO FEAR- G1 WINNER PACE (2130MS)
MISTER BUSHIDO NZ (M. Brown) - Gave ground from the 400m subsequently beaten 249.5m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding having returned suffering atrial fibrillation. The gelding will be stood down from racing for a period of 14 days, a veterinary certificate of soundness and ECG to be produced and the completion of 1 satisfactory re-qualifying trial.
RACE 10 – JP PACING 2YO PACE (2130MS)

Late Report 17 May 2022 – Race 1 Gloucester Park
On Tuesday 17 May, Stewards queried the apparent poor performance of PAROQUET (S. Suvaljko) after challenging for the lead in the early stages setting a lead time of 36.4 before tiring at the 300m to finish fifth. Stewards interviewed the driver after the race who advised that he had noticed mucus coming from the nostrils of the horse during the later stages of the event and was concerned it may have had a virus. He further advised that the mare was more than capable of the early work when considering its recent starts which was also evidenced at its start on 19 April 2022 challenging BEALAWYER for the lead in a lead time of 36.2 and finishing first where BEALAWYER subsequently tired from the 400m. A veterinary examination revealed PAROQUET had a respiratory infection and was stood down for 7 days. Trainer M Munro had advised Stewards that he temperature tests all his runners as with PAROQUET and the mare appeared in good health in the lead up to the run. The Stewards had concluded that the mare’s performance was the result of the respiratory virus confirmed by the on-course veterinary surgeon and furthermore determined that the work the mare had undertaken was within its normal and recent ability and under the circumstances determined that no reasonable Steward or person would consider that the drive was unacceptable to a breach of HR 149(2) and took the matter no further.
