Race 2 – VESPA NZ – C. Peterson – G. Hall Jnr unable to arrive on course by the prescribed time due to driving at today’s meeting in Bunbury.

RACE 3 – YOUR ONE STOP SHOP IS AT GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PACE (2130MS)
UNDER THE ALTA was a late withdrawal at 8.37am when Trainer Mr C. Willis advised that the gelding had a stone bruise to the off-fore. Mr Willis was reminded of his obligations to withdraw his runners prior to the official deadline of 8.30am in future.

RACE 4 – GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND THE CHANDON (G3) PACE (2130MS)
ARMA EINSTEIN (C. Brown) – Driver C. Brown reported that the geldings deafeners failed to release despite his efforts.
REGAL CHEVAL (M. Brown) – Tightened and checked at the turn into the front straight on the final occasion and shortly after was eased.
POWER AND GRACE NZ (C. Lewis) – Inconvenienced at the turn into the front straight on the final occasion.
General: Driver C. Brown (ARMA EINSTEIN) and M. Brown (REGAL CHEVAL) were interviewed in relation to an incident at the turn into the front straight on the final occasion where REGAL CHEVAL was tightened and checked. It was established that REGAL CHEVAL was racing in restricted room to the inside of BLITZEMBYE NZ (S. Suvaljko) when held tight with Driver M. Brown shifting REGAL CHEVAL away from that gelding and shortly after ARMA EINSTEIN was taken up the track to improve its position, resulting in REGAL CHEVAL becoming further tightened for room and having to be checked with POWER AND GRACE NZ (C. Lewis) which was following being inconvenienced. After considering all the circumstances Driver C. Brown was reprimanded under R163(1)(a)(iii) for allowing ARMA EINSTEIN to shift up the track when not fully clear, resulting in the interference to REGAL CHEVAL. In assessing this incident Stewards were mindful of Driver M. Brown’s evidence that REGAL CHEVAL was racing in restricted room prior to ARMA EINSTEIN shifting ground which was a contributing factor.
In relation to REGAL CHEVAL being eased shortly after entering the front straight on the final occasion, Driver D. Egerton-Green (ILLAWONG MUSTANG) was cautioned and reminded of his obligations to ensure he is fully clear of other runners when shifting outwards to improve his position.
RACE 5 – CALL GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND FOR ALL YOUR EQUINE NEEDS PACE (2536MS)
JUMPINGJACKMAC NZ (C. Suvaljko) – Driver C. Suvaljko expressed disappointment in the performance and advised the gelding was inclined to hang inwards from the 200m and did not finish the race off as well as expected.
RACE 6 – GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND BOTRA CUP PACE (2503SS)
REBEL WITH A GRIN NZ was a late withdrawal at 5.20pm due to Driver H. Hancock being unwell and as no other driver with a concession claim was available, the gelding was withdrawn under Harness Rule of Handicapping 22.12.7.
COPY N PACE NZ was a late withdrawal at 7.16pm when the gelding was found to be lame to the near hind. Trainer Mr C. Peterson was advised the gelding would be stood down for a period of 7 days and requires a Veterinary Certificate of Soundness prior to racing or trialling again.

SMOOTH RYE (C. Peterson) – Contacted the sulky wheel of ANGEL IN WHITE NZ (E. Suvaljko) in the front straight on the final occasion and raced roughly for a short distance.
General: Driver E. Suvaljko (ANGEL IN WHITE NZ) and C. Peterson (SMOOTH RYE) were interviewed in relation to SMOOTH RYE racing roughly in the front straight on the final occasion. It was established that SMOOTH RYE was shifted down the track slightly towards ANGEL IN WHITE NZ, which was taken outwards to improve its position at the same time, with these movements resulting in contact to the hind leg of SMOOTH RYE. Driver C. Peterson stated he had shifted down the track towards ANGEL IN WHITE NZ in an endeavour to cause that mare to become held up for clear running by preventing it from improving from behind SAVVY BROMAC (C Lewis), however Driver E Suvaljko was able to shift ANGEL IN WHITE NZ up the track from behind SAVVY BROMAC (C Lewis) when a clear run presented with both movements resulting in this incident. Stewards were of the opinion that no driver was fully culpable due to the simultaneous movements, however Driver C Peterson was advised to ensure he is in the correct position prior to attempting such manoeuvres and Driver E Suvaljko was told to ensure she is fully clear of other runners when improving her position in future.
RACE 8 – GARRARDS RIO COBRA SULKY PACE (2130MS)
