Trainers with multiple runners in any one race were questioned in relation to their intended tactics.
All engaged drivers at tonight’s meeting were subjected to rapid antigen tests being supervised by the Stewards prior to fulfilling their drives.
RACE 1 – ALLWOOD STUD SIRE, STALLIONS OF TODAY AND THE FUTURE PACE (1730MS)
ADDA TARANTELLA (C. Peterson) - Broke gait for a short distance leaving the back straight on the final occasion when placed in restricted room and racing tightly with MASTER LEIGHTON (J Young).
MASTER LEIGHTON (J. Young) - Inconvenienced leaving the back straight on the final occasion when racing tightly and checking away from ADDA TARANTELLA (C. Peterson) which was attempting to improve into restricted room to its inside.
MASTER PUBLISHER (G. Hall Jnr) - Gave ground from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore. Trainer G Hall Snr was advised the gelding would require a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to starting in a race or trial again.
General: Drivers C Peterson (ADDA TARANTELLA) and J Young (MASTER LEIGHTON) were interviewed regarding an incident leaving the back straight on the final occasion and it was established that ADDA TARANTELLA was allowed to improve to the inside of MASTER LEIGHTON where there was restricted room with ADDA TARANTELLA then breaking gait for a short distance. Driver C Peterson was fined $100 for careless driving under HR168(1)(a) for allowing his drive to improve where there was insufficient room causing the mare to break gait. When assessing penalty, Stewards considered his prior good record under this rule.
RACE 2 – FLY LIKE AN EAGLE LEADING TWO YEAR OLD SIRE PACE (2536MS)
MATTJESTIC STAR (K. Harper) -Tightened inwards slightly entering the back straight on the first occasion and contacted a marker peg. Contacted the sulky of ALTA RHETT (N. Turvey) and mis-strode when racing keenly entering the back straight on the second occasion.
PRADASON (A. De Campo) - Tired from the 250m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
General: In relation to MATTJESTIC STAR (K. Harper) being tightened inwards slightly and contacting a marker peg entering the back straight on the first occasion, Driver S Suvaljko (TEXAS TARA) was cautioned and told to ensure he is fully clear of other runners prior to shifting down the track in future.
RACE 3 – THE TROTS WA – OWNERS APPRECIATION PACE (2130MS)

RACE 4 – ALLWOOD STUD SUPPORTING WA BREEDING FOR OVER 40 YEARS FFA PACE (2130MS)

RACE 5 – THE KERRY CLARKE 4&5YO WESTBRED CLASSIC (G3) PACE (2130MS)
No incidents to report.
RACE 6 – FOLLOW THE STARS LEADING ALL AGED SIRE TROT (2130MS)
PATCHED (A. De Campo) - Broke gait after the start was affected. Trainer D Young was advised the gelding would now be placed outside of the draw for future mobile events.
TEARS OF JOY (D. Roberts) - Broke gait in the back straight on the final occasion. Trainer Mr B Stanley was advised the mare would now be stood down for a period of 6 days and until the completion of a satisfactory requalifying trial.
ONE BID BUYS NZ (H. Charles) - Checked in the back straight on the final occasion.
RACE 7 – ALLWOOD STUD FOR ALL YOUR BREEDING REQUIREMENTS 3YO PACE (2130MS)
The start was delayed slightly due to the paramedics having to provide medical assistance to an on-course patron.

RACE 8 – 3YO C&G WESTSIRED (L) PACE (2130MS)
The start was delayed several minutes due to FLYING RUMOUR (S. Suvaljko) having to leave the track to replace the hopple carrying strap which broke in the preliminary.
DREAMS OF VALHALLA (D. Harper) - Returned having bled from both nostrils and will now suffer the disabilities of HR101(3).
TRUNKEY FETCH (E. Suvaljko) - Carried back by a tiring runner from the 600m until near the 450m.
RACE 9 – 3YO FILLIES WESTSIRED (L) PACE (2130MS)
MISS SASSY (A. De Campo) - Contacted the barrier arm and broke gait as the start was affected. To remain out of the draw for future mobile events.
Gear Change - MISS SASSY - Lugging pole off.
RACE 10 – FLY LIKE AN EAGLE, PERFECT CONFORMATION, GREAT RACEHORSE, PROVEN SIRE CONDITIONED PACE (2130MS)
No incidents to report.
RACE 11 – THE TROTS WA – LUCKY WEBB 2YO FILLIES PACE (1730MS)
BETWEEN TWO THORNS (A. De Campo) - Raced greenly throughout and hung inwards in the straight.
