GOODTIME PE RABBIT (S. Suvaljko) – Broke gait racing in the back straight on the first occasion, and then again trotted roughly racing into the back straight on the final occasion. A warning was issued. Driver advised the gelding had contacted its own sulky in running.
RACE 2 – BARBAGALLO LUXURY CARS 2YO FILLIES PACE (2130MS)
LADY VIOLETTA (G. Hall Jnr) – Broke gait after the start. It was established that Driver G. Hall Jnr had omitted fitting the hopple shortening pins to the filly’s gear, he was subsequently fined $100 for negligence under R239(a).
BETWEEN TWO THORNS (A. De Campo) – When interviewed Driver A. De Campo advised that after being challenged for the lead in the early stages by VALENTINATHEBULLET (D. Egerton-Green), felt his best option was to relinquish that position rather than being pressured by the less favoured runner, as a result he was able to shift away from the pegs to obtain the lead shortly after without pressure. This resulted in the filly being given every opportunity to finish in its best possible placing

HEAVENLY WAGE (D. Egerton-Green) – Gave ground from the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding slow to recover. Trainer B. Mellsop advised the gelding will now be sent for a spell.

BE ON GUARD (R. Warwick) – Gave ground from the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have returned with an elevated heart rate and showing mild signs of heat exertion.
LAMANDIER (J. Suvaljko) – When questioned into the driving tactics in the presence of the RWWA Drivers Coach, in relation to maintaining the lead when pressured by VINTAGE BLU (A. Cortopassi) which had been over-racing and as a result an above average lead time was recorded. LAMANDIER after continuing to be pressured through the middle stages gave ground from the 800m. Driver J. Suvaljko advised his instructions were to lead if possible and to maintain that position, he further advised that after obtaining the lead and when pressured by VINTAGE BLU the gelding had begun to travel strongly and felt his best option was not to relinquish that position. Trainer M. Young confirmed these instructions. After considering all evidence Stewards advised Driver J. Suvaljko that after recording the above average lead time a better option would have been to relinquish the lead rather than being pressured in the middle stages, giving the gelding every opportunity to finish the race off as strongly as possible. Stewards took into the account the instructions by Trainer M. Young and Mr Suvaljko’s inexperience being a concession driver. He will now receive tutelage from the RWWA Driving Coach on the matter. A post-race veterinary examination reported the gelding to have returned with an elevated heart rate.
RACE 9 – VILIS FAMILY BAKERY DIV.1 PACE (2130MS)
No racing incidents to report.
RACE 10 – RETRAVISION DIV.2 PACE (2130MS)

Late Report
Gloucester Park - Friday 28 October 2022
Race 10 – SUMMIT BLOODSTOCK ‘OWNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE’ TROT (2130MS)
Stewards resumed the adjourned inquiry into the reasons ELISH STAR (L. Harper) being tightened and contacting the near-side sulky wheel of PEACHEE (N. Johns) who had been racing to the inside of GOODTIME PE RABBIT (S. Suvaljko) racing into the front straight on the final occasion.
It was established that GOODTIME PE RABBIT had hung inwards despite the efforts of its driver causing PEACHEE to be tightened, resulting in ELISH STAR contacting the near-side sulky wheel of the mare and trotting roughly. After considering all evidence a warning was placed on the racing manner of GOODTIME PE RABBIT and further Driver S. Suvaljko was advised to ensure he makes every effort to prevent his drives from shifting ground in similar circumstances.
