RACE 1 VISS WATER APPRECIATION PACE – 2300MS
PAY ME INTEREST NZ - was fractious I the score up, a warning was issued. Over-raced in the middle stages of the event.
TIDAL SURGE -driver Corey Johnson was reprimanded under rule 162(1)(www)(a) for shifting ground near the 300m. Entering the home straight on the final occasion when easing PREMONITION wider on the track TIDAL SURGE had momentarily resented the lugging pole placing C. Johnson at a disadvantage. Ryan Hryhorec (PREMONITION) had steered back towards TIDAL SURGE to avoid a wheel lock and as a result was checked and raced roughly, also checked was BETTOR BEONTOIT NZ.
STEINMAN NZ - used the sprint lane and was tested to the line.
RACE 2 TAB LIVE SKY RACING VISION PACE – 2230MS
DELIGHTFUL GNP NZ - used the sprint lane and was tested to the line.
ROCKNROLL YANKEE - driver Gaita Pullicino was fined $100.00 under rule 156(4)(a) for using the whip in a manner deemed to be continuous.
UNCLE LEO - gave ground from near the 600m, underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed a higher than expected recovery heart rate. Trainer Ray Holberton reported it was his intentions to have blood tests on the horse and would report any findings. Furthermore, the horse would be sent for a spell.
MAKE HASTE -hung in near the 750m, a warning was issued. Driver Samantha Pascoe was reprimanded under rule 168(1)(a) for contacting the sulky wheel of CLARENDEN ENVOY when shifting 3 wide near the 700m.
CLARENDEN ENVOY - became held up late and unable to be fully tested in the latter part of the home straight.
RACE 3 K & S ELECTRICAL TROTTERS HANDICAP – 2230SS
SHEZAGEM - led then surrendered the lead when challenged by AUNTY ETHAL near the 1800m.
KABAYO KING - used the sprint lane and was tested to the line.
FAIRYTALE HALL - over-raced in the middle stages of the event, broke gait free of interference on two occasions and is afforded its last chance to race truly.
SUPER ANGUS - broke gait after the start, a warning was issued.
HAMMERS LAW - galloped out at the start, a warning was issued.
MUSCLETONIAN - in accord with HRSA Elevated TCO2 Policy (fourth start) was presented at 3.59pm - broke gait after the start and will continue to be drawn right out of the draw in stand start events.
RACE 4 NORTH EAST ISUZU PACE – 1800MS
TWIN CONNECTION - used the sprint lane and was tested to the line.
MAGIC MASTERPIECE - gave ground from near the 500m, a warning was issued.
RUN FOR STIKKA - over-raced in the middle stages of the event.
BLOSSOM DELIGHT - over-raced in the middle stages of the event.
RACE 5 CLAY & MINERAL PACE – 1800MS
MY GOLDEN EAGLE - broke gait in the score up, a warning was issued. Gave ground from near the 550m, underwent a post-race veterinary check that revealed no obvious clinical issues of concern. Is stood down until the completion of one satisfactory requalifying trial.
ROCKY MONALOO - used the sprint lane, was tested to the line and raced roughly near the 50m.
RACE 6 TRAINERS & DRIVERS APPRECIATION PACE – 1800MS
LIBERTY TEE JAY - over-raced in the middle stages of the event.
BIEN HOA NZ - underwent a pre-race veterinary examination as per HRSA aged horse policy. Driver Michael Smith was reprimanded under rule 168(1)(a) when restraining to a position after the start contacted the sulky wheel of BELLA SOFIA. M. Smith was fined $250.00 under rule 156(2)(a) for using the whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion.
GLEN ELGIN TOMSON NZ - gave ground from near the 550m, underwent a post-race veterinary examination that revealed the horse to be suffering an irregular heartbeat and acting under HRSA policy is stood down 14 days, stood down ECG & stood down until the completion of one satisfactory requalifying trial.
RACE 7 HYGAIN CLAIMING PACE – 2230MS
SECRET JACK -led then surrendered the lead when challenged by JAKES SPORTWRITER near the 2000m.
CAPTAIN MANNERING -over-raced in the middle stages of the event.
VICTORY MEDAL NZ - over-raced early in the event when being restrained to the rear.
JAKES SPORTWRITER - hung in during the score up.
GENERAL
Several drivers were advised they would need to further modify their whip use to ensure they fully conform with the current whip rules.
