Driver MA Smith stated that he had not planned to lead but after being held initially as a result of being used off the gate ORATOR had raced keener than he expected and rather than race keenly in the death he had challenged for the lead. The Driver added that he had driven CHEMICAL REACTOR regularly and felt he would cross that runner. The Inquiry was adjourned to allow Stewards to consider previous starts and review betting records.
