Stewards inquired into an incident that occurred near the 200m and into the final straight where Wayne Hill (GLEN ELGIN TOMSON NZ) appeared to almost become dislodged from the sulky and MAJOR MAD (Jason Kittel) that was racing to his inside broke gait. After taking evidence from both drivers, viewing the available vision and taking into account their own observations, stewards determined that near the 200m MAJOR MAD that had been racing in the true one wide line had shifted up the track and contacted the nearside sulky wheel of GLEN ELGIN TOMSON NZ which was racing in the true three wide line, resulting in W. Hill becoming unbalanced in the sulky. As a result, GLEN ELGIN TOMSON NZ shifted in shortly afterwards and MAJOR MAD broke gait. J.
