RACE 1 – TAB LIVE SKY RACING VISION PACE – 1800MS
SNAPPER ROCKS – Led the event and was then inconvenienced near the 400 metres when MIDNIGHT SPORT attempted to move into a position to its inside when there was insufficient room to do so. Driver D. Hill had to take evasive action to ensure MIDNIGHT SPORT did not contact a wheel or receive a more significant check.
PASSIONATE PURSUIT – Unable to obtain a clear run over the final 400 metres of the event and was never fully tested.
MIDNIGHT SPORT – Driver C. Johnson was fined $200.00 under Rule 162(1)(n) for attempting to take an unfair advantage, by moving into a position that had not fully materialised and causing the runner in advance of him, the leader, to take evasive action to ensure a more serious incident did not occur, as a consequence MIDNIGHT SPORT was forced over marker pegs near the 400 metres.
RACE 2 – NEILSON GAS & PLUMBING PACE – 1800MS
LELA – Showed gate speed and led the event, however elected to take a trailing position on the back of NO ULTIMATUMS near the 1300 metres.
NO ULTIMATUMS – Commenced to give ground from the 450 metres, causing some inconvenience to trailing runners, eventually being beaten 42.0 metres, a warning was issued
LITTLE GROWL – Had difficulty finding a clear run between the 400 metres and the 200 metres but when clear was fully tested over the concluding stages of the event.
IM KINDOFA BIGDEAL – Inconvenienced when NO ULTIMATUMS commenced to give ground from the 450 metres.
HILLTOP BREEZE – After racing three wide down the back straight on the final occasion, driver W. Hill was able to manoeuvrer the mare into the sprint lane, when it became available, fully tested over the concluding stages of the event.
RACE 3 – BIANCO REINFORCING PACE – 1800MS
MY GOLDEN EAGLE – Driver W. Hill was reprimanded under Rule 162(1)(i) for not being in position by the candy pole.
ROCKSTAR DIVA – Raced roughly as the field raced into the first turn, a warning was issued. Gave ground over the final 400 metres to eventually be beaten 63.0 metres, a warning was issued.
EDWINA EXPRESS – Broke gait free of interference near the 1500 metres, a warning was issued.
TRADE WHISPERS – Had difficulty finding a clear run between the 400 metres and the 200 metres, however, utilised the sprint lane when it became available and was fully tested over the concluding stages of the event.
PERSIUS – Stewards questioned trainer M. Norman regarding the performance of PERSIUS, which on face value seemed below expectation. M. Norman was disappointed with the gelding’s performance but stated that the gelding had been working well and had trialled well recently, and could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. He advised Stewards it was his intention to have bloods taken from PERSIUS and would monitor its recovery and if anything was to come to light which may explain its performance, he would notify the Stewards.
RACE 4 – ECO-WISE PLUMBING GROUP PACE – 1800MS
MODSQUAD – Gave ground over the final 600 metres of the event to eventually be beaten 51.0 metres, a post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer P. Borrelli advised Stewards that the gelding had been working well and was having its first start as a 2yo and had been unable to trial, as he had hoped to do. He also believed the weather conditions and the fact MODSQUAD had never been under lights all these factors had contributed to the gelding’s performance. Stewards accepted his explanation and under the circumstances, elected to take no action against its performance.
OUT OF DODGE – Gave ground over the final 300 metres of the event to eventually be beaten 29.0 metres, a post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Stable representative T. McMahon could offer no explanation for the below par performance and felt with the run the gelding had during the event there was an expectation OUT OF DODGE would have filled the placings. It was their intention to monitor the recovery of the gelding and if anything was to come to light which may explain its performance, they would inform the Stewards.
BILLY ROCKS – Swung sideways in the early stages of the score up, inconveniencing TRIPLETS and was out of position when the start was effected, will be drawn wide in future mobile start events.
THIS GENERATION – Utilised the sprint lane when it became available and was fully tested in the final straight.

THUMBS UP NZ – Unsuccessfully challenged for the lead, raced outside the leader for the remainder of the event.
RACE 6 – HYGAIN REGAIN TROTTERS HANDICAP – 2230SS
JETS TO JAZZ – Broke gait free of interference near the 1500 metres, considering JETS TO JAZZ had been placed on its “Last Chance To Race Competitively” at its last outing, which was 6 months earlier, and the fact it had been unable to trial due to fields not standing up, Stewards elected to place the gelding on its last chance to race truly.
BACARDI BINDI – Galloped away when the strands were released, due to the mares recent standing start offences, will be drawn wide in future standing start events.
RACE 7 – F&D AZZURRO EARTHWORKS PACE – 1800MS
