RACE 1 – VILLAGE JOLT @ LOCHEND STUD 2YO PACE – 1740 metres
WHEN TO FOLDEM – Locked wheels with EPIC ERNIE for a short distance near the 400 metres.
SAUCEY TOOTH– Checked and broke gait near the 1400 metres when EL CAMINO broke gait.
EPIC ERNIE – Inconvenienced near the 1400 metres when EL CAMINO broke gait. Locked wheels with WHEN TO FOLDEM for a short distance near the 400 metres.
EL CAMINO– Pre-race swab sampled. Broke gait free of interference near the 1400 metres, given it was just the gelding’s third race start connections were advised that it would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.
CAPTAIN HAMMERHEAD– Trainer R Lakey was fined $50 under Rule 210 for not declaring a Driver for the colt by the required time. Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take over the lead from BLACK JAX approaching the 1200 metres. Hung-out approaching the 1000 metres. Post-race swab sampled.
ZU HOFFEN – Inconvenienced near the 1400 metres when EL CAMINO broke gait.
TUKURUA – Raced roughly for a short distance when steadied from the back of NOSAER near the 600 metres. Placed back in the draw for future mobile start races.
NOSAER – Inconvenienced near the 1400 metres when EL CAMINO broke gait.
RACE 2 – BENSTUD MAIDEN PACE – 1740 metres
NICHOLAS HARRIS– Pre-race swab sampled. Broke gait after the start, given it was the gelding’s first race start connections were advised that he would be placed outside the draw for future mobile start races.
MISTA MACNEEDY– Checked after the start when NICHOLAS HARRIS broke gait.
ULTIMATE STINGRAY– Checked and broke gait after the start when NICHOLAS HARRIS broke gait.
ABETTAWAYTODOIT– Worked forward to take over the lead from OFFICIALLY SAID leaving the 1400 metres. Post-race swab sampled.
RACE 3 – TIGER TARA NZ @ MEDOWIE LODGE PACE – 1740 metres
BETTOR THAN MOST – Pre-race swab sampled.
BRAEVIEW FELLA– Post-race swab sampled.
FLANEUR – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it has had over 200 race starts, and cleared to start.
MASTABLASTA – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader leaving the 1400 metres.
NO MORE PROMISES – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader near the 1200 metres.
RACE 4 – RUNNERS RELIEF PACE – 1740 metres
MY COURTELL– Hung-out under pressure in the home straight, for which a warning was issued. Post-race swab sampled.
HILLY– Pre-race swab sampled.
GUY LOOKS GOOD – Made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader near the 1000 metres.
THE CLOCK WINDER – Caught racing three wide from the start before being restrained to take up a position on the marker pegs at the rear of the field approaching the 1200 metres.
NOTMUCHUPTOP– Pre-race swab sampled.
JACKS LAST HOO RAA – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader approaching the 1200 metres.
RACE 5 – VALE MARJ REES PACE – 1740 metres
LESLEIGH– Hung-in leaving the 1200 metres and approaching the 600 metres.
NOTTADOUBT – Unable to obtain a clear run in the home straight.
SCHIAVONE NZ – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader near the 1200 metres.
ROCK THE NATION NZ– Post-race swab sampled.
SKREEMR NZ– Broke gait during the score-up and was out of position at the start, for which a warning was issued.
IMPERIOUS – Caught racing three wide from the start before being restrained to take up a position in the running line at the rear of the field approaching the 1200 metres.

RACE 6 – ATWORTHY PARK PACE – 1740 metres
FREDEE TEE– Pre-race swab sampled.
FORGED IN FIRE – Caught racing three wide from the start before being restrained to take up a position in the running line at the rear of the field near the 1400 metres.
OUR THUNDER– Broke gait free of interference approaching the 1400 metres, connections were advised the gelding would be placed on its last chance to race truly.
ORATORIA – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader approaching the 1200 metres.
UROC BABY NZ– Out of position at the start. Driver J Prior was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to bring the mareup into position at the start.
ESCAPE ARTIST– Worked forward to take over the lead from FREDEE TEE near the 1200 metres. Post-race swab sampled.
RACE 7 – HARNESS TRADING RING AUSTRALIA PACE – 1740 metres
SPRING LINE – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take over the lead from THE ROGUE I AM leaving the 1400 metres. Tightened for room near the finish line when racing to the inside of WHITE STAR PEEJAY, when that runner shifted in, and was checked and broke gait. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Driver B Jones was given the opportunity to comment on the below market expectations performance of the gelding, he stated that in its recent starts they have obtained cover when able, but felt in today’s field it would be able to maintain the lead and be able to finish off competitively. He added that it seemed to race fairly flat during the run and he was disappointed with its performance. He further added that the stable would look to alter some if its gear prior to its next race start in an endeavour to get it race more keenly.

WHITE STAR PEEJAY – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader near the 1200 metres. Shifted-in under pressure in the home straight, Driver A Richardson was advised that he would be expected to make more effort to keep his runner in a straight course in similar circumstances in future.
MOVIN ON UP – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.
RACE 8 – MATARANKA PARK PACE – 2270 metres
GOD BLESS YOU– Post-race swab sampled.
JUST ROCKNROLL– Pre-race swab sampled.
RED TRIX – Broke gait after the start for which a warning was issued. Made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader near the 1600 metres. Had a tendency to over-race during the middle stages of the event, before tiring over the concluding stages. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer/Driver S Hewitt was questioned regarding the performance of the mare, he stated that he felt it was below his expectations today, but felt the way the mare over-raced played a major part in it being unable to finish the race off. He further added that he would look to alter some if its gear prior to its next race start in an endeavour to get it to settle better during the race.
RACE 9 – TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY PACE – 1740 metres
LONESTAR LAD– Post-race swab sampled.
HARRY OVENS – Declared a late scratching at 10.36am on Vet’s advice.
IM FEELING FIREY – Checked from behind the tiring CHRISSY CHIC approaching the 400 metres.
MR PERFECT NZ– Pre-race swab sampled.
CHRISSY CHIC – Over-raced during the early stages of the event. Worked forward to take over the lead from IM FEELING FIREY near the 1000 metres. Tired over the concluding stages and was beaten by a considerable margin. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the mare to be suffering from no significant injuries however did have a poor post-race recovery. Driver T Osmond was questioned regarding the performance of the mare, she stated that it been working well since joining the stable and they were disappointed with the way it went in today’s race. She added that the intention from the outside front row draw was to go back from the start to obtain cover, however the mare commenced to pull in the latter stages of the score-up and she was unable to get it to come back after the start. She further added it continued to over-race in the early stages of the race and she was unable to get it to settle resulting in her going to the lead near the 1000 metres. Given the circumstances, connections were advised the mare would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial prior to its next race start.
